    Morning all, Friday, 9:24Am
Just finished frying up a skillet of scrapple, I get mine from a local butcher. Maybe 4 X a year I cook it up. Its like something that is tasty but not too often , like bacon. It comes in a square chunk, and the challenge is to cut it thick enough but not too thick to slowly fry and both side crisp up, so it holds up when flipping. It is a regional food to my state.

Speaking of skillets, I do want to boast I am an owner of a 150 year old caste iron " Wagner" skillet, and I use it often, it is awesomely non-stick, cooks great, top of stove or oven. Sometime I think of all the meals it has made, all the hands that have touched the handel and all those people who knew how to take care of it. As I get older I have to certainly "will" it to someone special.

Do you all get "lightening bugs" over there across the pond? Or up in Canada? They are out now. Neat to see them blinking about in the woods and hovering above the lawn areas flightening about at night. Take care of "you" @CanadianLori in your business, hope its something you enjoy doing.

Been in contact with a few friends from Ohio and Kentucky, regarding the meet ups that will be had as we travel that direction soon. Mailed a birthday gift out to my cousin in Ohio, saw this item in one of our travels, it said her name to me, so I got it for her.

A quick heavy rain ran through last night. 74 degrees here. No real plan for the day, I am sure I will get into something. Have a good day all.

Gosh where did the week go!!:yikes:

      Morning everybody.:)

Had a great day out yesterday..... with none of the rain or grey clouds that were predicted. :hapydancsmil:

It was graduation day at Southampton University and the town was buzzing with gowns and mortarboards!!! It was a great atmosphere.

We had a leisurely stroll through the market then walked up through the central pedestrian area stopping to listen to a saxophonist...an instrument that I love and could happily listen to all day long. Fabulous.

Had some lunch then walked through the main park before heading back home.

Today we're thinking of going to Winchester this morning then head back to Southampton this afternoon...but the weather, although sunny at the moment, is looking decidedly dodgy on paper so maybe not. We'll think on it a bit longer.

Actually I won't be too sad if it does rain as we are still in desperate need of it here in our little corner.

I spent last night looking back on old posts and it reminded me of just how much I loved a certain past member's garden. He was so knowledgeable and I really miss his presence on the forum. I hope he looks in occasionally.
I've noted down some of the gorgeous plants that he grew and will hopefully add a few of them to our garden .:fingers crossed:

Have a brilliant day whatever your weather.

      :spinning:

        Morning Vicky

Well I've learned not to stir things up and although I'm almost certain of this lovely man's reasons for leaving ... but just in case, my new motto is..

When I email you I'll let you know.:blue thumb:

We've jointly reached a 'stay at home' decision despite it being full sunshine here at the moment, both cities predict heavy rain around midday , that should mean that we should get some too as we're between both of them. Here's hoping.:fingers crossed:

        Have a great day,xx

Morning all. Saturday. 9:13Am. Suppose to be a clear day today.
Taking out my smaller push mower for small areas of grass spots. Tomorrow taking out the big ridding mower to cut all the rest of it. Was taking a picture of my one garden bed yesterday and a hummingbird flew directly at me, so caught him in the shot as he darted away. See it on the picture on the left side. Believe it wa heading for the sugar feeder behind me.

Met up with a new "friend" couple at a local pub yesterday, last or first time we met was St. Patty's day, nice couple. Due to my schedule can't meet up till October sometime. We seem to be able to chat on a variety of subjects.

Ok, now curious @Upsydaisy , who it is? I myself stayed off for a few years due to some issues I did not like, and for now, I keep myself only on certain threads, as I'd rather not partake of some of the subjects. Over the years I have also noticed some folks missing. Used to have a wonderful chatting on a thread called Dew Stop Inn, the core group "got" the jokes and we loved it. But then there was a few others who's minds could not understand, and they caused it to close.

Just mailed out a birthday gift to a cousin of mine, on one of our trips, we visited a glass musuem, had an awesome store attached, one item yelled her name. In general, as I am going through stuff I don't need anymore have some jewelry I need to send out to younger cousins, or second cousins.

BTW---any of you do one of those DNA genetic tests?

Ok, have a grand day all. HummerHydragea.jpg

Some of my favourite plants that we have in our garden.
Pics will probably be taken from the internet as the weather hasn't allowed me to go out and get a decent collection of pics ,plus the fact most of ours are very battered looking now.

              Good morning.

A very happy bunny here today as our garden got a very thorough soaking yesterday.:)....and now the sun is back with us

Sadly the accompanying winds left it looking like a tornado has passed through. Lots of tidying up will be required today, a lot of the blooms will need cutting off completely as they are snapped. Hopefully by carefully cutting back some of them might be encouraged to send up new buds. :fingers crossed::fingers crossed:

              Forever optimistic.

Off to survey the damage, have a lovely Sunday.

Morning Vicky and thanks, yes definitely very much needed and a huge relief for the time being.
Beautiful sunshine this morning and everywhere is glistening with raindrops.:)

Any weather good or bad that becomes relentless ends up wearing you down unfortunately. I hope things become more comfortable for you soon.
                  Enjoy your day.xx

Happy Sunday to all. Nice clear sunny day today.
Cut the grass in the front yard and side yard on Saturday. Now today, cutting the grass on back part is on the list. And some cutting down by the gazebo area. Maybe I will also put a match to the burn pile to burn down. Have to move hoses etc.
Took this shot, just sitting on the stoop. The cream house is my neighbors, Chuck's place. He helps feed the cat when we are gone in exchange for some Whisky. I try to find something good on our travels. So far Chuck has two bottles of some grand stuff. So he's a happy man. Unfortunately his wife has Alzhimers, and so far he's keeping her home. Daughter comes by now and then so he can leave. I got him an appointment with a Senior Day program, where she could attend, giving him a break, but she would only stand at the window looking for him to return when she visited, and he went away for a bit . The program said she would just do that all day, not good for her. Sad. She is so hooked into him. Having been in the geriatric field for years I shudder to think what the future holds for him. But he knows I am next door if he needs help.
Anyway, off to some chores, what else is new. LOL Have a grand day all.

Buddleia ( pic taken from our garden)

                      Good morning everyone. :)

Please to report that on the whole the beastly winds didn't do too much damage in the garden after all. Hopefully we'll get to sort things out at some point today.

We decided to go out yesterday once we realised that there wasn't much to fix. We went into lovely Winchester for an amble and some lunch, a thoroughly lovely day.

Will visit my sister today as she is looking after one of her gorgeous grandsons .....as I'm due a great nephew cuddle.

                      Enjoy your Monday.

                        Morning all.

A lovely morning again with a fresh start of 18c with a breeze. We topped at 33c yesterday but had a nice breeze sitting out between 8 and 9pm after dinner.

J has CAT and Ultrasounds today at Alvor Hospital so I have suggested I go with him for company/support/distraction as he gets very unsettled with such visits due to claustiphobia ... he has walked out on CATs as well as MRIs in the past.

Have a good un whatever you do.

                            Good day
I've got a few minutes to pop in before going out. It is 66f and grey clouds are covering the sky. The guessers say that the rest of the week, it will be muggy and hot.

I'm like J @Victoria . I do not confined spaces and seeing people go in that tube gives me the willies. Even when I was camping with a small tent, I had to have my face near the opening in order to relax and go to sleep.

I am still very busy but it is busyness, not business! Some days this week I have two social get togethers and this is the last week of Violet's course so I still ferry her to and from each day.

Morning all, the fresh rain overnight help hearld the beginning of a new week.
Finished cutting ALL the grass, looks good. So it should keep well till we get back.
Off to a few errands later. Laundry. Selecting the clothes I will pack etc.

Gave away a bike rack yesterday to my good neighbor, I need to get rid of so much stuff, glad they can use it. My cousin got her gift in the mail. In the USA, we have two mailing costs, you can say it is "book rate" which is cheaper than non-book rate.

Notified a friend who lives in Buffalo, NY, that Sept, our route will take us right through their town enroute to Vermont, so a stop over for lunch will be planned, as long as the lunch spot can park the car and trailor, end of August to revisit location. And a cousin reunion also on one night in September as we drive through that area enroute. Looking forward to these meet ups.
                              And its 9:33Am now, here.
                              Have a good day all.
