    Morning everyone.:)

I hope everything went OK for J at the dentist yesterday Vicky. :fingers crossed:

Lori you really are a lady of many exceptional talents. :love30:

Michael I'm still looking forward to seeing the rejuvenated chair soon

Well apart from a couple of drizzly sessions our day yesterday wasn't anywhere near as bad as our forecast had predicted.

Today is going to be OK too....I think!..so we are off out. I had planned to go to a nearby Country Park and then on to a close by nursery and hobby shop but hubs needs to go into Southampton to attend to something, whether we travel on from there to the park will depend on the timings. If not we'll go another day.:)

    Have a super day now.

      Good morning 16.jpeg
A bright and breezy start here. U am thankful we are having this fresh breeze morning and evening ... it makes things tolerable, especially with our high htemo warning niw extended through Monday!

Thanks Upsy, yes just one filling. Back next Wednesday, two more to go. J thinks it has all come about since his 30 Radiotherapy sessions in 2015/16. I know my 35 sessions (10 of which were intensive boosts) affected me in another way. But, in my opinion, better than Chemo!

Nothing going on here today except a run to the Post Office,

Hope you have a good outing Uosy xx

I'll get around to it one day @Upsydaisy :dbgrtmb: I'm hoping to fetch the seat today or tomorrow ...
I'll tell you about the other two chairs I've had renovated as well if you like, and a chest of drawers. There's a story behind each one.

          Morning Vicky.:)

Glad to hear all is going well for J at the Dentist. :blue thumb:

My sister suffered badly with Chemo, how she coped I really don't know...we all supported her as much as possible but in the very dark days following a session and living alone...well I just think she was amazing!! She use to ask people not to visit her for the first few days following a session, she just wanted to curl up and ride out the aftermath. Radiotherapy had it's ups and downs but nothing compared to the Chemo.

Yes thanks Vicky ,the sun is out now and so are we shortly too.:SUNsmile:

          Enjoy your day too.xx

My Sis was very ill with Chemo ... actually said to my Oncology Surgeon she did not want me to have it. She went through IV and tablets (in US cost $5,000 a month) but did not save her just got progressively worse. J and I both did well on Radiotherapy. just tired all the time and I got burned. It was our after effects, J's teeth and me boob.

              Morning Michael :).

Hmmmm that sounds mysteriously tantalizing.....I need to know more!!!!

Old furniture with stories to tell and wearing the scars of their last lives are such treasures.

I have the very first coffee table my parents bought just after they got married..it's worn and battered from my siblings and I using it as a prop in our play sessions....it was amazing what it was turned into!!!:heehee:

I have my Great Uncle and Aunts dining room furniture..sadly stowed up in our loft.
I also have an old monks box that has been passed on through the generations that was bequeathed to me by my parents.

We also have a rickety old kitchen stool that sports the teeth marks from a beloved childhood puppy, who liked nothing better that using it as a teether!!! He was the only small breed dog my parents ever had....a mixed breed Terrier....but Oh so cute, he lived until he was 19 yrs old.:doggieshmooze:

              Such valued keepsakes.:imphrt:

Yes it burnt my sister too Vicky, still suffering today.
But the Chemo...goodness it made her ill, and to cope alone too.:love30:

                  Good day
It is 68f and the skies only have wisps of clouds now after last night's rain. I'm a little tired of the rain but I'd prefer this to a dry spell!

@Michael Hewett I too am looking forward to your pictures :) I have some of my parents old furniture. No one else in the family wanted it and I just could not let it go. I have one of those side tables where the top flips and spins to make a square table which would be good for perhaps playing cards are serving tea. And some other pieces. The two arm chairs could use a refresh and I think I know exactly which fabric I'd like to use now you've got me thinking about it :blue thumb:

@Upsydaisy sounds like you and hubby are getting that acquainted with your area to the point where you'd make wonderful tour guides!

@Victoria I'm glad yours and J's treatments worked. I cannot count how many people I knew who went through all that horrible chemo just to die horribly anyway.

I'm going to run out early to do a tiny bit of shopping for the heavier items I need in order to use the van to transport them. The van is going camping in about an hour and if I don't get out now, I'd have to use the Mustang. Yes, it is quite capable of hauling weighty stuff but it is more awkward getting the items in and out of it's trunk.

                  Cheers :coffee:

Your old pieces of furniture sound fascinating @Upsydaisy and @CanadianLori

I got the seat this afternoon and the chair looks much better now :dbgrtmb:

I'm sorry to hear of everyone's relatives who had chemo ...

Good morning everyone...gosh how the week fly by !!:yikes:

Lori it certainly surprises me each time we go out somewhere just how much I still have to learn about the area that has been my home since moving here in 1958 !! I think we can sometimes just take our surroundings for granted, I now enjoy doing the research into places before we visit them.:)

We had a nice lunch in town yesterday after we attended to a couple of appointments.

I did manage to buy myself a couple of pairs of walking trousers in preparation for doing daily walks come Autumn/ Winter when my exercise levels tend to drop away a bit.

I have also found and saved a series of exercises and stretches videos for.....the more mature person..;)...to include in my daily rountine in the hope that my joints will hold on to their dwindling flexibility a tad longer. :fingers crossed:.
I have been looking into classes locally to take up during the Winter months....I especially use to enjoy going to Aquacise , but realised that in all honesty on a cold ,wet and miserable Winter's day I doubt very much that I will feel like walking ( no buses from here pass by it) down to our local Leisure Centre...about a 40 min walk each way. So realisticly....enrolling in a programme of classes....is out!!!:heehee:

Oh well at least I'm showing willing....I have the trousers!!:roflol:

Today looks to be an Ok ( ish) day. Not sure what's on the agenda, I had initially thought to go to the near by ( ish) Country Park but as it looks promising for a couple of nicer days next week I'm now thinking the visit will be more enjoyable then.

So more than likely a good old ' go with the flow' day is on the cards for today:biggrin::dbgrtmb:.

                      Have a good one!
                      :spinning:

                        Good Morning1.jpeg all.

A hot day and weekend ahead with an Extreme High Heat Warning till Monday.

I was never one to "join classes". One, you have to drive to get there (even in the US and UK) and I prefer to do things on my own ... and I am dedicated to doing such. Since the beginning of the year I have been static cycling religiously on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays as soon as I get up, whether I feel like it or not. I am a creature of habit. :rolleyespink:

J going off to pick John up and take him to collect a car he bought this week. Apparently it is near Victoria's Cafe so they will have lunch there.

Have a good day whatever you do.

                          Morning Vicky.

I know what you mean about the travelling there and back!! It use to be a lot easier but now a lot of bus routes have axed here.

I use to enjoy going and found them to be great fun.
                          I went to booked..swimming sessions
                          step classes
                          aquacise
                          aerobics.

I will use my bike during the Winter too, I just feel that during the Spring and Summer ( rightly or wrongly :noidea:) I do enough without needing it.

I will be happy if ,on most days, I can do a 2+ mile walk throughout the Winter months.......:fingers crossed:

                          Have a lovely day too.xx

                            Good day
It is 67f and the skies have miraculously cleared up after the nasty downpours and strong winds last night. I was thinking about all the kids out in their tents as this went on. Although come to think of it, they have the luxury of cots to sleep on. I remember waking up lying in puddles during some camp trips!

Exercise. Now you two are making me feel guilty. I haven't done any since Christmas. I just lost any interest in them. I do need to get back to them. I used to do parts of the XBX ladies programme.(copy attached) None of the jumping or running in place parts as I don't want to stress my old bones. No equipment is required. I guess I'll push myself to get back at it and to do that I'll have to pick a start date- and soon! If Helen Mirren can still be doing it, I can get back into it.

I've got the recycle and rubbish out to the kerb, a load of laundry going to hang out in a while and will now start the boiler iron going to try to get down to doing a bit of work. This fabric is awesome and it is want I'm going to order to do one of my chairs. I"ll try to remember to take a pic of it to show you.

Best get on and quick read the paper before starting work.

                            Cheers :coffee:
