      Good day
It is 10f -12c and rising. And the skies are clear!!!

I made the flower shaped bread yesterday and had dyed the dough but used a bit too much so it came out very turquoise (blue dye + yellow egg yolks in dough) so a little brutal on the eyes. I put them in the freezer then this morning, I've taken the little loaves back out again. I'm testing how they are after a freeze.

I've got the pan prepared for making petit fours which I do know freeze well and this will give me a real start on the tea. I am doing this prep because next weekend foray into macaron making may be a real challenge timewise.

I like the treehouse @Victoria . I don't just sit much either so if I had one of those, I'd be giving it a glass roof and making it a shade plant greenhouse :)

My shows on, petit fours won't make themselves, so I'm off now.

      Cheers :coffee:

          Good morning everyone.

Suppose to have a fairly good day today . I had hoped to get outside to continue the tidy up but after the soaking we had throughout most of the night I suspect it will be way to soggy underfoot out there. May wait and see what the situation is like this afternoon now.

The sleet came and went without build up because of the rain . We're hitting -7C tonight....my absolute worse type of weather...very damp and cold, one without the other is fine, but not hand in hand together..My legs and hips have been extremely painful for the last couple of days......they don't like it either.:sad:

Can I come and visit you please Vicky.....I''ll behave I promise.

Off to find my wellies and rubber dingy, have a good day.

Morning all. It is grey and overcast out there but no rain is forecast a we continue to be dry and warm. Of course you can come and visit Upsy ... open door for you but not keen on all that rowing you will have to do!!! Horrible weather over there!

I was not well yesterday at all, felt nauseas and had bad reflux all day after having had a bad night. Very strange as I ate nothing untoward and I don't eat or drink anything after 9pm. Had soup for dinner and to bed early (watched the first episode of TV series Yellowstone with Kevin Costner and took a Valerian 150mg tablet. Slept well with no issues and feel okay this morning, just not full of beans and having a mug of peppermint tea.

Wanted to pump up the volume on my exercise and get back on the bike ... but we'll see how things go .

So sorry to hear you're not feeling too good, I wonder what is causing it. Keep sipping the peppermint tea and take it easy.....the exercises can wait. :grphg:xxx

Thanks Upsy. Could be stress as having gone for my Biocard appointment I got invoice for 18 Euros before they produce actual card but bank will not accept Invoice and says it is incorrect and my deadline to pay was the 11th. Cannot get through to SEF (border control) by phone or e-mail and J cannot get through to make his appointment. I know lots of folk have this problem (read on Portuguese forum). I don't think anything will happen and I am in the system and have my old card (punched saying invalid)!!!! Beaurocracy! J is cool and calm about it but this is me and I am a natural worry wart.

Hi there Worry Wart ( love it!!!)

No seriously, I can fully appreciate your concern, I too worry over 'official ' things and like to get them sorted as soon as possible. Unlike R who worries over everything!
As you say ,you are in the system and still have your old card as proof , albeit invalid, it still proves you are an honest person and doing things by the book. It will be fine :dbgrtmb:

Just try to lose the 'worry' and concentrate on being a 'wart' for the rest of the day.;) Worry certainly plays havoc with our general wellbeing, although we may not always think so.

Try and relax and chill today..no fretting now.:nonofinger:

                    Good day
It is 26f -7c which is not too bad and the guessers say we might get a little bit of sun again today :)

@Victoria I hope your stress and stomach issues pass quickly. @Upsydaisy maybe my little bit of sun will float your way. @Flumpy I'll try to remember to take pics when I've got everything set up next week. ;)

I got 12 half decent looking petit fours out of the batch I made. There are going to be 10 ladies so that is fortunate and the rest will be eaten anyway, just not by company! The mini quiche shells are ready but I didn't have enough eggs to go finish them. And the breads that I froze worked out really well. I had star and flower shaped toast with marmalade for brekkie yesterday.

I've got some small projects on my to do list for today and so the day will pretty much be puttering.

                    Cheers:coffee:

Morning Lori. I am feeling better today and just had a mug of Sweet Tea (with a sweetener dot not sugar) which I enjoyed with my egg sandwich on brown ... I think this is a first for me as I normally drink it as it comes but have noticed lately that my stomach gets upset after straight tea.

I was thinking about your macarons ... do you mean the coconut ones which I love or the French coloured meringue-like ones?

I am looking at the french meringue like ones. They are $2 per cookie to buy so I figured I'd try to make them. If I get it right, it may be a good one to revisit. This is our first get together for the New Year and will also be a "planning" discussion. I want to make it special and lead by example about putting in some effort when it is your turn to host. I'm not officially the "leader" of the group however every time there is a need for help, or questions or whatever, the gals come to me to solve things. Each lady gets a month to host and they can choose whether to do something at their home, or arrange for an outing (we each pay our own way) or whatever activity appeals. We had a couple of girls last year who put in zero effort so I'm hoping to add a tinge of shame to their plates so that they sit up and do right this year! I know I sound like a drill sergeant but somebody has got to keep it lively or attendance would dwindle and the group would break up. We've been together some 20 years so I really don't want that to happen!

                              Good morning everyone.

Hopefully that's the last -7C night for a while....I don't know how you cope Lori!!

It's very pretty out there though with a covering of thick frost everywhere ......that's the only nice thing about it.!

Probably another day of doing this and that. I was thinking of visiting my brother but have now decided to go another day, maybe tomorrow. We do however need to get some groceries at some point too.

I am suppose to be booking some cinema tickets for a friend and myself this week to see Till but not sure what's going on with their website..

Apart from all this it's just another Winters day with some lovely sunshine to bring a bit of cheer.:SUNsmile:

                              Enjoy your day.

Morning all. The sun is breaking through and it is 14c going to 18c with some showers.

Hurray, successs. I got through to SEF Border Control at 7.30 last night and a lovely gentleman walked me through the procedure to receive a new invoice, which magically appeared on my screen. You have to wait 48 hours to pay so J will try on Wednesday.
J is meeting Donald for lunch today following the cancellation last week. I will be doing not a lot of anything but exercise and crochet ... it can't get much more boring than that!

Keep warm and dry everyone and be safe.
