Sorry to hear of your bad night and headache Michael....have you got some pain relief meds and has it eased up for you now.....I so hope so..:grphg:

Oh what a lovely thoughtful thing to do for your neighbours. They will undoubtedly be thrilled to bits with such a bespoke card, made with such thought and care. It will be a definite keepsake to share with their child in years to come...I have kept everything related to our babies.....not sure if hubs realizes just how much!!!;)
Looking forward very much to seeing it.

Oh that's a shame, that's a major issue at this time of year .... tourists/ crowds..
Fortunately we haven't had any real overcrowded bus issues as we try and..so far so good:fingers crossed:..pick early times when people ( well with children) might not yet be in full swing. :heehee:
Only one recent trip from my brother 's place into Southampton sounds like your experience on Friday..and that is going to haunt me forever....won't ever contemplate doing that bus route again ...holiday time or not!!!

Yes not nice.....it was a wooden table and the surface was so tacky...revolting!!

Take it easy and only do what you feel able to today and enjoy you lovely garden with Bella.xx

Morning there Vicky, how are you feeling today?

Yes please ,I'll help myself to the furry doughnut. !

Sorry to hear of your ongoing heat ordeal. Such a shame having to hideaway indoors all day, it must be horrid for you both. It's bad enough having to do that here in Winter but at least we can add layers and still get out and about. :fingers crossed: I hope the weather breaks soon for you.:grphg:

Try and enjoy your day, what films have you lined up ?

      Morning Upsy.
I think it is a sugary doughnut! :heehee:
Don't know what J has lined up. Yesterday we watched Enchanted, Disenchanted and then Sweet Home Alabama ... all with Patrick Dempsey.
Have you started Come Fly with Me yet? A lot of 'family values' I think.
Have a good day too. xx

          Good morning everyone.

Vicky what did you think of the film ? I found it stirred up a mix of emotions and so did my friend.

Michael I hope your headache has decided to pack it's bags and leave you in peace. :fingers crossed:

          Lori....pace yourself you busy bee.

          Flumpy...:grphg:

Redstar, get that camera clicking....pics,pics pics.

No set plans today, it's looks to be another nice day so probably laundry and garden tasks will be top of the 'to do' list.

          Have fun!

Morning all. Our Orange High Heat Warning now continues to Wednesday. Yesterday we went to just over 38c!

I really enjoyed the film Upsy, funny and sad ... bittersweet.

My chair may arrive today. J spoke to the delivery man on Friday when he was at lunch and made arrangements for today ... :fingers crossed::fingers crossed::fingers crossed: Other than sitting in my chair when it cools down tonight, nothing happening here.

Yes thank you @Upsydaisy, headache has gone but I had another mostly sleepless night - I think all the owls in the world were sat outside my window, Hooting all night long. I've never heard so many ! They were playing games with the rats in the hedgerows who squeeked all night long too ... I can't sleep with the window closed so there was nothing I could do. In the end I just made myself a cup of tea. I'm tired now :heehee:
I'll carry on with painting my Teddy Bear today I think ...

I hope your chair is very comfortable @Victoria.

Have a lovely day everyone  xx

                Good morning . :)

How are you all you today?

Yes most definitely Vicky, very bittersweet indeed.
I hope you've been resting up and relaxing in your new chair.:blue thumb:

Michael we're the same ,need to have at least one big window in our bedroom open at night....preferably 2 . We do get the owls and foxes being a tad noisy at times but that is a small price to pay for hearing the dawn chorus.:dbgrtmb:
Did you do some more of the Teddy Bear yesterday?

We've had a change of plan ....surprise, surprise ....we're not going to The New Forest instead we'll be passing through it and travelling on to Lymington. We hope to do the Town Trail walk..similar to the Keats one last week in Winchester or maybe just wander down the cobbled streets to the Quay then on up to through the waterside gardens. We'll just see how the mood takes us. :)

                Had a fab day yourselves.

Good morning @Upsydaisy ... Your day out sounds interesting. I shall look forward to some photos

I didn't do any more of the Teddy, I sorted out my succulents instead, and then I went to get some of that expensive food for fussy Bella, from Pets at home. At least she eats it all so it works out less expensive than buying the cheaper one and throwing most of it away.
Then I had a coffee and cake in Home Bargains and bought some Cyclamen for autumn colour.

Don't know what I'm doing today, I may go somewhere on a bus, or I may do something garden related ... we'll see. It's a beautiful morning here

                  Enjoy your day xx.

Good Morning Cat Specs.jpeg Upsy and Michael. Enjoy your outings.

I sat on my chair and rocked in the lounge for a while.:frown: Sadly it is too hot to sit outside but may for a wee while this morning when temps are still under 30!!

Nada planned for today except a Post Office run for J.

                      Good morning to you all.:)

Michael I've said before that I'm so envious of your Home Bargains having a cafe! We have to walk to ours, and do so regularly, as there isn't a bus that goes anywhere near it. It would be so nice to have a cuppa before embarking on the return trip home. :coffee::coffee:

Did you go anywhere yesterday or did you spend it at home enjoying your beautiful garden that is full to bursting with colourful plants

Poor you Vicky still suffering under that horrid heatwave......I just know that I wouldn't be able to cope with it at all.

We had a really super day out yesterday for those who may be interested I've done a post on the Your Day ( apart from gardening) thread.

We have another lovely day forecast today, not sure what we're doing...might just be a nice local walk.

Enjoy your day too whatever you're up to.

Hello all. Up in the middle of the night, 8/23/23, had gone to bed early. Still at our Airbnb. just all around busy here. Met with the property manager, we had some discussions of expectations. Had our door lock and the temperture control device linked to my cell phone finally. Met with our landscaper, who really does a great job with the garden. Met with some of our neighbors. We had a water leak in the garage area, husband working on that, as well as some new plants we brought down. It a whole different soil situation here, and there is deer issues in this gated comunity. The folks here do not want to cull them. They also have bear that wander about here, again the folks don't want to try to capture them and remove, personally so far have not seen any bear. But we have to really care about what plants that the deer will not eat. We are meeting with a security company to have a camera put in that faces the river and our dock. Husband put up lots of solar lights on the dock pilings, looks nice at night. Well back to sleep, just letting you all know I am alive. Take care.

Hi there redstar, wow...busy, busy time for you both by the sounds of it !!
No I don't believe in culling any animal either, they are entitled to their space just as we are. Trouble only seems to arise when we humans try and get up close to them to either take a pic..or worse still a selfie of them with the poor animal. Leave them be I always say.:blue thumb:

Those lights sound lovely....you know what I'm going to say ......pics please . :dbgrtmb:
