The sun came out from 10am yesterday and everything went smoothly, it was a very emotional day, but I’m hoping mum will be very proud of us, going to miss her heaps

We should not hit 30c today and I believe it is a stay at home day for J. He got a blind for the kitchen window and said he would install it this morning.

We were having dreadful internet problems yesterday, non existent speed, under1mb, so Mum got LOTS of Dianthus and Carnations.

Got chilly here right now, a 63 degrees. Good for garden work today.
Just sipping coffee now, mentally organizing my attack on "things" today. And sometime they are all only "things" that only mean something to me, is not that the truth.
We leave again Sept. 5, be gone 16 days. So some of the "things" are geared to that departure.

I love poetry and have a collection that represents significant events in my life and this is one of many that I saved at the time of losing my own Mum.....and I would love you too have it too @Flumpy ...it was also very relevant to me because my Mum loved gardening and as kids we use to collect Rose Petals and make her some ( very dubious looking !!) ' perfume '... that she loved !!! Only Mums can love such homemade creations!!

Good Morning everyone.

Had a a really super visit with our friends yesterday and to be honest...we took the car!!
We did have good intentions of walking and using the buses but suddenly realised that as eldest would need picking up from the station the car would have to be got out anyway.

Not sure whats happening today as son is 'officially ' working from home. So I guess it'll be a go with the flow kinda day.

Good morning, I’m literally just off to my doctors for my yearly thyroid bloods to be done, feeling a little nervous though

Coincidence.!...my sister has just come back from the T bloods as well this morning.
Positive thinking now all will be fine I'm sure. Maybe a tweak in meds at the most.

 

Friday morning, up too early 6AM. now its 7:30 AM.
Organizing an outdoor light on the deck to turn on at 3AM and off at 5AM the right angle. Seems the solar lights fizzle out at about 3AM. Hope I have it good now.
A little chilly this morning, but nice.

I usually get my yearly blood work done in January, with my yearly physical. The blood work results pop up on my health care site so I can see where they fall in the "norm" ranges. Then sooner or later my PCP with toss in her comment. Usually I always how the need to drink more water. Hope yours turns out well @Flumpy .

We had some storms down by our Airbnb, water really got up to the end of the walk at the bottom of the house. Thank goodness for concerned neighbors and landscaper sending us pictures assuring us all was well. And that as soon as the winds change all will suck back out. We are certainly learning a lot. And watching the cameras there was interesting.

Well, off to whatever about the house and/or garden that calls my attention. Have a good day all.

 

Good Morning.

We could be in for a lovely week next week so I need to think of where to go for a day trip. We'll more than likely go somewhere on Tues as we've been inform that we'll be without electricity from 8:30am until 4:30pm that day.

Yesterday I was notified about having our flu jabs this month ,apparently they're rolling them out slightly earlier because of a new Covid variant that, although only a few cases have been reported so far, there are concerns over the potential effect it could have on some people. So I booked appointments for us both, hubs needs to have a Shingles shot as well.

Also booked some cinema seats for some friends and myself for next week too.

Not sure what we're up too today, I think son no.1 isn't needed to work today . He works all hours to match different time zones worldwide.
