Morning all. Nice and sunny here but only 6c going to 15c. Had a good night's sleep and feel fine.

Brenda here is taking Floradix with Iron but I take everything separately that is in these things.

Thanks, yes all went to plan today with the buses and R was in good spirits but still did his usual ' my dinner is calling me ' disappearing trick at 11:45 !!
Bless him, no point trying to explain or reason with him.

Still have sheets of ice on the pavements and some quieter roads, like ours for example, so have to keep a close lookout at all times when out and about. A bit scary when you're a bit stiff and unsteady.

It is 36f 2c and yes, cloudy again. I still can't believe these mild days. The guessers are calling for freezing rain today so definitely not much to worry about.

I can't stop thinking about your looong walk laden with groceries so I hope today your buses run as you planned @Upsydaisy. glad you did fine!

I have a bit of shopping to do today. One of our shops have a 20% off on Thursdays for seniors special and quite often this works out to be a good bargain even though their regular prices are fairly high. I need a couple of three dozen eggs and some other basic supplies and I will get them there. ... got the shopping done

I took apart a jacket yesterday. I decided that the interlining that I had used wasn't heavy enough and also wanted to re-set a sleeve. So I have that to put back together today. I made matching slacks for it and it will be good for spring particularly if I add a nice colourful blouse.

Good morning everyone!

Another sunny day, sadly it's emitting very little heat but nevertheless it's still lovely to see.

Laundry is washed and ready and waiting to be hung out.

I'm off to the cinema later with a friend, I couldn't book to see 'Till' as it's not showing today.
Our cinema has very recently stopped opening in the morning.....probably to save heating ,etc costs so showing schedules are all over the place.
Fortunately there are quite a few films out at the moment that we want to see so instead we are going to see A Man Called Otto with Tom Hanks playing the lead .

Slightly concerning news, my sister has been recalled to the hospital after undergoing checks last week. She has to return next week.

It is 36f 2c so once again, mild for us. The guessers say that it will get colder and the rain will change to snow. I think they're wrong. It will just be another wet chilly day.

Today is everything day so the rubbish and recycle are now at the kerb. I've got some more fabric in the washer which I will switch to the dryer after 11 when the price drops to mid rate for the electricity. Some of these were bought 2 years ago and I'm very astonished at the amounts of each type of fabric I have. Must have been marked down quite a bit!

@Michael Hewett I am too lazy to hang out laundry if it is really cold. My fingers actually start hurting with trying to manipulate the clothes pins. @Upsydaisy I don't know how you do it!

And I'm going to watch some more youtube videos on macaron making in prep for tomorrow. They say you can make them in advance and I want to make the shell parts to store and then wait to ice the morning of the tea.

Morning Lori....my fingers are still defrosting despite wearing two pairs of gloves!!! It would be a crime not to hang it out on such a gorgeous day.
My problems start later.....will hubs remember to collect it in as the film doesn't even finish until 5:30pm then there's the rush hour traffic!! I will probably come back in the dark to find it as stiff as a board and still hanging out.
Our washing line is in a corner that is out of sight and that unfortunately can result in it becoming ' out of mind' too!!

I might been doing hubs an injustice and find myself pleasantly surprised.

That's another Winter's week done with taking us a step nearer to Spring!!

Apart from a possibility of another grocery trip ,as unfortunately somethings weren't in stock the other day, we're not planning on doing much else.
Hoping finally to spending most of the day at home today and with such nice weather I know where I will be !


I take back what I said yesterday ( sorry my darling), the laundry was in and all hanging over the airer when I arrived back home. He was a .

The film was beautiful and made us laugh and cry.

The gist of the story was all about...living life again after losing your partner . The dark place of experiencing thoughts of suicide and attempts made on acting on them. The support of neighbours who coax you into their lives and the important role that being actively involved in your local community plays in helping you to realise that there is more life waiting for you to live.

Seeing my description of it written down makes it sound gloomy but it was anything but. It has many laughs in it and was heart warming to see how being part of a caring neighbourhood who rally round each other in times of need can help you through the darkest days that life can throw at you

Even the local feral cat played a big part too.
I have to say that I think Tom Hanks met his match.....the cat was so cute and imo the star of the film.

It is actually classified as a comedy.

I haven't looked for a new morning theme but maybe will do that this weekend as it will be a normal one doing whatever we fancy at the time.

What a coincidence!!!! I've just sourced and downloaded my new 'morning theme' for the next 2 weeks.

We're just having a coffee before heading out .....shopping!! As the supermarkets in our local town seem half stocked on whatever day we go in lately we've decided to go slightly further away to where there are two large one almost side by side.

Definitely too far to even contemplate walking but as it's only a small shop we will go by bus again...if they run!!

I have only the weather report as my morning theme.. It is 32f 0c and yes, cloudy again.

I slept in this morning. First time I've slept that long in over 20 years. At first I thought my clock was wrong!

I've got regular bread going and one that will be pink to make shaped loaves to freeze for Thursday's tea. And this morning I'm going to attempt the clotted cream.

And of course, vacuuming needs doing again. So a busy day for me.

@Upsydaisy I've seen the adverts for that movie and plan to see it as well. I did not like Tom Hanks in that silly sitcom many years ago but I do like his movies.
