Hello all, 5:10 PM here. got back at 1PM. exhausted. Probably sleep all week. Wil try to catch up with your lives. All safe here. 20 days away. Met up with up a few old friends and family. Anyway --the car did win an award. One of 4 for best car out of the 800 entries. So for our last show of the year that is awesome. She will be featured in a magazine. Anyway, ending now, back later. So glad no more shows this year. It truly is tiring. award.jpg

Good morning, well Ok nothing particularly good about it...at all really.

Welcome home redstar. Many congratulations on winning the award.:)

We've had really strong winds all night and there seems to be no let up in sight until late afternoon.

We got everything done yesterday as we had planned to do. So hopefully a quiet day for us today

I wasn't well yesterday and still not 100% today so I plan to chill out browsing lots of lovely ancient maps of our area.

Thursday we are visiting my brother, getting home around 1:30, mid afternoon I have a friend calling in.

Friday morning I will make up the bed in son no. 3's room and give it a quick flick with the feather duster.
Friday afternoon we need to go grocery shopping and will call in to have our Covid Boosters on the way back home. It'll then just be a case of waiting for the call from son sometime during the evening for collection from the station.:hapydancsmil:

Then it will be the weekend again.:yikes:....life is going by too fast !!!

I hope you all enjoy your day despite the weather....well Vicky will that's guaranteed.:dbgrtmb:

I'm sorry you are not feeling too well @Upsydaisy and hope you'll be better later on.

I love rain and it's pelting it down here. I'm sat by my French doors with a cuppa and watching it, listening to it, and I can see the branches of the trees in the hedgerow swaying in the wind and the clouds racing across the sky. Everything is glistening outside and I am nice and cosy here with Bella.

I always feel well when it rains - sort of 'alive' and happy. I think it's because I can hide away and it makes me feel safe - I don't often feel safe.
And I find still weather boring anyway, especially when it's cold.

But we are all different aren't we. That's being human
Enjoy the maps ! I love looking at old maps xx

Morning Michael and thank you. X

No to be honest I don't really mind rain, especially when I don't have loads to do that rain puts a halt to. I don't envy anyone who must go out in it at the moment though ,work and school runs etc, as the winds are so strong and I find that a tad scary with all our surrounding trees. On the way back from town yesterday we hit a road closure because of a fallen big tree...it was across the side of the road that we had travelled 2 hours earlier on the bus!:yikes: I shudder just thinking about it.

But I definitely know what you mean it gives you a lovely snuggly feeling being safe indoors looking out doesn't it. I also love it on a windy night ,cosy in bed ,listening to the wind howling around the corners of our house causing the old part to creek !!

I hope feeling safe remains with you for a long time.xx

                  Morning all.

Welcome home Redstar and congratulations on the win! I would not like to be away from home for three weeks. Rest up and get back into the swing slowly.

Hope you feel better as the day progresses Upsy.

Pleased you are enjoying the rain Michael. I would love some to enjoy ... and get some sorting out done.

Hi Flumpy if you are looking in.

J meeting Donald for lunch today and stopping off at Iceland on the way home as he didn't go on Monday.

                  Have a good one everyone.

Morning Flumpy , I'm glad to say there seems to be a good uptake on the boosters, everywhere administering them is very busy, Dr's, Covid hubs. and the local chemists too. Very encouraging indeed.

I worry also for all the trees that surround our house too :yikes::fingers crossed:

                    Enjoy your day.

                        Good day
It is 50f and total sun which means as soon as it warms up a teensy bit, I'll be outside.

@Upsydaisy I hope you start feeling better soon. @Michael Hewett I agree that rain prompts a nice cocooning session and insulation from the outside world. I think meerkats are cute too @Flumpy and @Victoria as they just have this impish aura about them.

Em is off to school with extra pumpkin muffins packed in her lunch to share with her new friends. This is fantastic to know that she is already making connections :spinning:

                        Cheers :coffee:

                          Good morning :)

A day of two halves today, dry this morning then rain later this afternoon.

Visiting my brother this morning and doing a spot of budgie care. We might just get caught in the rain as we don't get back until 2pm ish. A friend is popping in later too.

Thankfully feeling a bit better today, just have the tail end of the headache and the other symptom from Tuesday has gone completely, so it's looking very promising for the weekend with baby son. :yahoo:

                          Enjoy your day.

We may get a shower later on, hope so.

J came home with a couple of hundred Euros worth of goodies from Iceland yesterday. :yay: He had not visited there since the Spring and we were out of lots of "essential" English staples (Bisto, Oxo, Paxo, TUC. Fray Bentos pies), of course there were cases of Diet Cherry Coke, Diet 7-Up and Cider too all on super specials!

Physio Day today ... J to Alvor, me at home.

Early start so must go ... have a good day.

                                Good day,
It is 55f and there are some clouds in the sky but they aren't more than a light grey so I don't think they squeeze out any rain.

@Upsydaisy I'm glad you're starting to feel better particularly since you've got the baby visiting this weekend. :blue thumb:

@Victoria that about sums up what it costs every time I visit Costco. When I get in there, I then remember all of the pantry items I need to restock!

@Flumpy I too have work to do on my bird table. I need to fit a new gutter around it that extends upward at least an inch or two. The new bylaws here forbid having a feeder that might provide ground food to rodents through spillage issues. I may make guttering from some of those 2l plastic pop bottles. The curve would perhaps be an extra stopper for the seeds.

Em is off to school. I added some cheese and whole wheat crackers to her lunch as an added snack she can have after gym class. I hope it's a nice surprise.

                                @Michael Hewett and @john558 I hope you're having a lovely day.

And my outdoor fall wind down shall continue. Lots of dead or dying to pull and brown bag.

                                Cheers :coffee:
