      Another one hitchin a ride.....
      OIP (8).jpeg

      Morning everyone.

How are you all today.......including poor J.?

Wow Lori that was a scary experience !! I hope your lip isn't too uncomfortable.

Thanks redstar ,yes I did know about the pressure point but I will probably just take a tablet . I also use to have a wrist band to wear that applied pressure on that point too.....hmmmm might see if I can find it.

Not a bad day yesterday, an equal mix of sunshine and clouds with the stronger winds arriving around 6pm and only lasting a couple of hours...couldn't call them gales or even a storm really.

Today we will hopefully go into one of the local cities, don't mind which one as I only want to buy some bedding sheets. No doubt we'll have a bit of a general stroll about too.:)

That will be about it for the day as we probably won't get back until late afternoon.

      Have a good day.

        Waterfall Rio Bestanca.jpeg
This beautiful waterfall and river is in North Portugal.

We both had a bad night but I was worse, coughed non stop. Taking Mucosolvan but didn't seem to help. J said he read it takes five days to manifest itself so he figures he got it last Wednesday when he had lunch with Donald then went shopping in Iceland. I asked him if he still wiped his hands with isopropyl alcohol and he said no he has not been doing that!!! So I said and look what you've caused, and he said that he had Covid and I just have a cold! Let's see what happens after I pass five days.

Anyway J going to Chemist for more test kits and I will be the one lying about feeling ill.

          Oh no Vicky!!!!!
So very sorry to hear that you're not feeling well, I would love to be able to offer you some positive vibes but....I think you may have caught it by the sounds of it.

Yes I too have read about the 5 day period.

J needs to be sent to the naughty corner.:nonofinger:

There was an article just this week about how a lot of complacency has developed in regards to practicing good and healthy routines to help reduce the spread of Covid.

Thankfully hubs is very good, not so much admittedly with the ' glove' but he definitely wears one on the bus. We both also carry alcohol hand cleanser sprays on us whenever we leave the house....and as I've said we still mask up in busy and confined public areas, it has now become normal practice for us and we automatically do it with giving it a second thought.

Not saying we won't get it but we will do everything possible to limit the chances.:fingers crossed:

If you do have it then I hope that my healing hugs will help to minimise the symptoms for you.
Take care and make sure J washes his hands on his return home

If it wasn't so beautiful it would make brilliant horror movie material !!!..... Gaining support from an innocent ,unsuspecting host and goes on to repay it by slowly strangulating it to....death!!! :yikes: Yikes I'm scaring myself now!!!! Hide!!!:sofa:

                  Good day
It is 56f but for some reason feels warmer  We've not had rain for quite awhile so I turned on the low flow irrigation to water the flower/veg beds and they got a nice drink before the sun hits.

@Victoria I hope you pass that 5th day without a symptom! @Upsydaisy I don't even have any swelling left so it shows what a tough old bird I am ;) And I never thought you'd be one of those people who wear out their bed linens.. whodathunk!

I'm picking up some of my friends in a nearby town and then we're meeting a bunch of others up at a cidery. We'll probably have lunch there and of course, buy apples and baked goods. Cider is also good for baking so a small jug might be coming home with me. I laughingly tell the ones who want to carpool with me that "the silver bus" will be at such and such at this time.

I now have Em's school picture proof and will order one of the small packages but add on the "spot removal" option. It is worth the little extra to mask those teenage blemishes and I know she would really like that. I won't tell her, just wait for her to get a pleasant surprise.

                  @Upsydaisy what fig tree?

                  Cheers :coffee:

Hi Lori this is the one that Vicky posted on her thread 'This and That....perhaps of interest' on Friday. Read up on it ,really fascinating.:blue thumb:

Oh we wear out bed linen ...no seriously before my knee op I found that I had to keep flexing my whole leg to relieve the pain, apparently even when I was fast asleep too. Over time it inevitably wore out the bottom half of our sheets. That's my version anyway ;)

Happy to hear all is Ok with your lip.!:)

Your day sounds really fab have a great time.

Morning all, Thursday. 66degrees here, 912AM Chill in the air. but good sleeping weather.
@Upsydaisy , yep, tried those tablets, their effects on me bother me, I have done those behind the ear sticky things, and do have the wrist bands somewhere. Don't do much deep sea fishing anymore. Regular flounder fishing, or lake fishing the rocking does not bother me in those areas. And keeping away from any ship fumes help.
Just cleaning up the garden all day yesterday from branches, limbs, will continue today. Not dry enough to cut the lawn and start chopping up some of fallen leaves.
We are suppose to go ---with the car---to a show about 30 mins from us, a charity event, on Saturday. should be a good weather day. A good goal today would be more closet cleaning out, and tossing.
                      Have a good day all.

                        Hello everyone. upload_2023-9-28_19-40-33.png

First things first..... Vicky how have you been, did the coughing disturb your sleep again?
Hopefully J is over the worse now and you are having a chance to rest up .

Lori how was your visit to the Cidery ...was lots of sampling enjoyed by all ?

                        upload_2023-9-28_19-3-17.png

redstar how's the closet clearing out going...nearly done?

Good morning to @Michael Hewett , @Flumpy and @john558 too.

It's our anniversary today...a day of very mixed emotions. So many of our guests are sadly no longer with us.....but they have left us with lot's of very happy memories. So grateful that they could all share in our day and make is so fab for us.

Not sure yet ( no surprise there...are we ever!) whether to have a meal in one of our lovely local restaurants or go back into Southampton . Decisions,decisions....just need to remember to be home by mid afternoon or else we could be in big trouble with our youngest broodling.

Have a lovely ( and restful Vicky) day

Morning all ... and Happy Anniversaty Upsy and enjoy whatever you decide to do.

I had a much better night but still disturbed and I was able to throw up all the phlegm which has been making me cough. J had a better night too. My legs ache which is not good for me and I think I will pass on the cycling this morning. J didn''t go to the Chemist the other day so he will go today.
