Oh dear @Victoria, sorry to hear about your untimely demise! :yikes: :heehee:

I just read in the news about a Finnish man who finally got sick and tired (oh how your language is trying to trip me...) of waiting for his follow up doctor's appointment and called the hospital.

It turned out that he had been dead for six months according to the medical records, which sort of explained the delay with the appointment.

The silver lining of the story is that even though his death was in the official medical records, bureaucracy is so slow that the information hadn't flown into other official databases so he continued to get paid, travel and have a bank account.

No, she is listed there as deceased also. I am trying to contact the 'source' of the info. I have added J and he has found all his parents rellies. Mum was the youngest of 13!!!

The sun surprisingly came out ... so out I went promptly.

                  Good day
I have been busy all day and am now taking a break. I added making Christmas cake to my list of musts for the day.

@Victoria I am glad to know your demise was merely someone's naughty reporting.

I hope you're all sat with your feet up to relax for what's left of the day.

                  Cheers :Wino:

                    Good afternoon ( just) Lori.

I hope being busy means that you're feeling much better now....if not then naughty you. :nonofinger:

                    I don't do any Christmas baking anymore...and I must admit I don't miss it.
I never did make a cake as none of us are that keen on it. When Mum was with us we use to all go over to them for Christmas Tea. She use to make everything herself so we kept with tradition and had slice of her cake, have to admit we did all love her's!!

It's nearly 9:30 pm here so yes we are sitting with feet up and chilling now..hubs is playing a brain teaser game and I'm in despair over just checking out tomorrow 's forecast and trying to plan my day.

Enjoy the remainder of your day too.

Sorry can't join you in a wine but can with a.....

                      Good morning everyone.:)

We're in for a pretty dismal day here by the look of our forecast, a complete opposite of yesterday.

Not sure if I'll attempt to brave the rain and do a few things in the garden. I might just allocate today as a day of rest, knitting, jigsaw puzzle, reading and searching for my first of the season ... old black and white corny Christmas movie.

                      Have a restful Sunday everyone.

                      :spinning:

I guess because of my unknown demise yesterday I thought it was Sunday Well, it is now and a bright warm sunny one it is too!

Both J and I spent hours on the Ancestry thing yesterday and it will probably take all day today too! As my dearly departed Father changed his (and accordingly my) name as we emigrated to Canada, and eliminated his son (still alive today) things are complicated. Also, I have yet to add my Maternal grandparents and there are two line of descendants there, my Mother being the only child of that union, but Nanny was previously married and had five children there, including my Aunt who brought me up! After they eliminated me as Deceased, I had to join and put my married name and then had to eliminate that as Maiden names seem to be a big thing.

Any old how a fun day is ahead for us. I planned on finishing the pink/grey/white afghan today, but think that is off the cards.

Have a grand day all and I will report back on any interesting findings.

                              Good morning Vicky.

Ancestry is so fascinating, I could happily spend all day browsing. I have compiled our maternal family tree, going back to the mid 1600's. I also have access to our paternal online one too that my Uncle did, his goes way further back than mine does. As he was retired he was able to travel around visiting churches and was able to look back in their records, this was an enormous help as some national records, such as the Census ones, only began in the early 1800's. I was pretty fortunate as London had their own set of records + the national ones, I hit issues though when our family line ,way back in time, began popping up from outside of the London area, I was working and didn't have the time to explore Church Records as my Dad's brother had been able too. The other major factor too in regards to the London Records is that a lot of info was lost during the war and there are now huge gaps in the available information.
Both of our family trees are on Ancestry.

                              Have great fun!! xx

                                Hi @Flumpy ,

Did you or a very close relative ( that you have total trust in) actually do a DNA test?

If not then just beware that some 'hints' ( we get sent hints on Ancestry when a ' potential looking ' person shares very similar family links) , are often found not to be true bloodline ones. My Dad's brother ( my lovely Uncle who sadly passed away just after my Dad) actually took a DNA test himself as he wanted us all to have the reassurance of really accurate information.
Like most families we too have origins linked to all around the world.:heehee:

I agree it is so very interesting.

                                Have a good day.xx
