Good morning., how are you doing today?

Vicky did you manage to mingle the wool into the rest of your knitting satisfactory?:fingers crossed:

Lori I should imagine that would be quite soul destroying having to use materials that are bought by the customer and aren't up to scratch..

    Gosh Flumpy a year...already!!!!

A bit of an iffy looking day today, not sure if I will get anymore of the Dahlias done as the ground is very soggy yet again .....a bit of a dilemma as Tuesday night is forecast to be another -2C one. That's the day we are spending away from the house because of the electricity switch off.. Not sure what to do for the best, I'll have to ponder for a bit longer.

    Have a brilliant day.

    :spinning:

Morning all. The sun is just waking up (a bit like me) and a fine day is forecast. There are lots of big birds with long tails flittng around in the trees.

I will start the third ball/skein this morning Upsy, so that will tell me. I will photograph it to show you.

Yes, I agree regarding the mismatch Lori, very frustrating.

Goodness Kare, that year has gone by ... it seems like yesterday when you were talking about Mum''s dress!!!

It does seem like the UK is having a lot of rain. We are still hoping we will get some this week.

Not a lot of the agenda this week. J has a scan on Wednesday and his lunch on Friday with John ... who has a lady friend, but all I know is the name Margaret.

        Morning Vicky

Yes we are a tad soggy underfoot at the moment but currently we are enjoying a lovely sunny Autumnal morning. So lovely in fact that we've just got back from a great walk. Just having a quick coffee before heading out to the garden...not without dropping a few 'hints ' of jobs that would benefit from some 'manpower!!;)

Keeping fingers crossed that your crocheting works out well.:fingers crossed::fingers crossed:

        Have a good day.xx

            Good day
It is above freezing however the clouds are trying again with the white stuff. Obviously there will be zero accumulation.

I've got another busy day ahead of me. I've made a deal for a used glider rocker and will be picking that up late this morning. Picking out fabric to make new cushion covers will wait for another day. The chair is for grandson Max, the autistic one, to use. He likes rocking (well, you all know that autistic kids like rythmic motions) and this type of chair would not present the danger of going over backward or punching holes in the wall. I'm not sure if it will stay here or my son may want to take it to his house. Whichever works is fine with me.

And my neighbour across and down a couple of houses asked to come see me this afternoon. He is a contractor and maybe wants some more custom cushion work done. People here still like bench seats in their mud rooms so that may be in the works.

I need to go now and make Em's brekkie. Her lunch is already made and waiting in the fridge.

            Cheers all :coffee:

                Good morning!!

Vicky one 'hint' worked... my 3 big garden waste trugs and the 2 old compost bags that I had to resort to using for all the cuttings in the end have finally been emptied and chipped...so now I have empty containers just waiting for me to fill !!!!
That was all though..he quickly went back indoors and there he stayed!!
I managed to finish off doing the remaining Dahlias...so a big sigh of relief !

Me too Lori, I would be very interested in seeing a pic of the glider rocker too please :dbgrtmb:

No power day has arrived...why at this time of year do they decide to do maintenance work, :noidea:thankfully our -2 night tonight is now a -1 one.

We have a change of plan, we have decided to stay put for the morning ( with a flask of coffee) then go into town( Southampton) early afternoon and have a main meal late afternoon and visit the Christmas Fair.

We will visit my brother tomorrow.

Right that all, I want to do a few things before the switch off so enjoy your day everyone.

Morning all. Lightly overcast to start but 11c going to 20c ... but showers are supposed to find us this evening. :fingers crossed:

Pleased you got your dahlias sorted out Upsy. I had a dream about flowers last night ... I had these tall big blooms that when you looked at them one way they were white, but when you looked at them the other way they were red.:scratch::scratch:

Sun just came out to play. Quiet day here as J did shopping late yesterday afternoon.

Enjoy your afternoon in Southampton Upsy.

                    Good day
It is 20f -6c and there is a light layer of snow on the ground. The guessers say it won't get warmer until Thursday.

@Upsydaisy did I not see a fireplace in one of your pics? Wouldn't that make a nice cozy room to spend your time?

The rocker pick-up got delayed so, I will go this morning instead. As soon as I've picked it up, I'll head to the fabric shop because then I'll know how much fabric to buy. I'm taking a piece of the elephant fabric with me to look for a colour that won't clash. Yes, I'll share a pic so you'll have the, "before" then later another when I've made new covers, for the "after".

Next week is going to be another busy week. There is something "on" every day. And then the marathon baking starts. :yikes:

                    Cheers :coffee:

Strange thing, do not recall on Thanksgiving day, any football games on TV. Lots of folks roaming around chatting. etc, 24 of them. Saturday was the game husband was interested in watching, so that is what he did, and I watched some movies. We were still in Georgia, at an airbnb.

Got back from the long 13 hour drive from Georgia to home last night. So just unpacking, etc. sorting mail. Tired. Have to see if I have energy for food shopping, or just deal with what we have here. I do have stuff. Cat is in good condition, my neighbor did a good job. The leaves are nuts, maybe in 2 days I will attack that some. Had a lovely time with my cousins, all 10 of them ,and additional spouses, and friends that showed up for Thanksgiving. There was two Turkeys. Lots of sides, about 7 desserts. Wine, beverages, coffee, tea etc. Wonderful dog among the gathering, what a sweetheart she was. Ok. later.

Yes Lori we do have a fireplace in our little snug lounge that hubs and I have used since our brood flew the nest.

We don't use it as I don't like the smell of open fires on the soft furnishings. We use to always have an open fire years ago but during the first 4 months in all my pregnancies ( 5) I had quite bad morning sickness and also I suddenly detested the smell of an open fire. ... and it has remained with me ever since, fortunately I lost my craving for frozen peas!!! :roflol:

Oh my gosh Vicky how weird, but what a fabulous flower that would be !! It would definitely end up on my 'must have' list.
