The sun is up and a fine day is forecast ... with maybe a shower late in the evening but they have been threatening this for days.

No dog yesterday thankfully and we stayed indoors by the fire chatting listening to Christmas music. Donald broke a dinner plate but hey ho! We are not sure what happened about the KFC (which was again mentioned mid morning between J and D) but they came with three cheeseburgers for J, D & B and a mix of chicken nuggets/jalapeno balls/fried cheese sticks/onion rings/chips for me from a friends cafe???? Anyway, they left about 3.30 to get home to the dog which they leave shut in the laundry room of their apartment. I shall say no more.

    Nothing planned here.

Morning Vicky.....sounds like it didn't go quite as planned but nevertheless nice to all catch up and have a good natter.

Feel sorry for the poor dog though....laundry room!!:dunno:

Might try and fit in a walk this morning as ( I think) it's still dry out there, but as the ground is so very damp looking from overnight rain I could be wrong.

Still have a couple of the emails to write too......
I really must knuckle down and get them done...so overdue now.

When they are done I can turn thoughts over to......what shall I grow this year!!!!! Actually I have already done this several times...but keep changing my mind, so it down to final decision time!!:hapydancsmil::yahoo:

Enjoy your weather and have a peaceful day.xxx

Good morning all hope your all well….. as you know I’m going through a tough time, I now have another problem, a bully at work (pathetic) I know for a grown women, I spoken to my manager previously about someone slacking (not answering phone etc) but instead of keeping it to himself, he went straight downstairs and told the bully, the only reason I know is because she’s saying thing out loud as she walks past me and also starring stories up with other colleagues to get them on her side, unfortunately my manager is off for over a week, it’s making me feel I’ll :cry3:

Oh dear Karen ... I do wish you could find another job and get out of that horrid place. Have you tried contacting places like Boots. Superdrug, etc. seeing if they have anything? You have years of experience and should not have to suffer fools.

              Good day
It is 31f -1c and again cloudy. I am getting rather fed up with these gloomy days.

@Flumpy I sure hope something pops up to hire you away from your present job. Have you tried networking with friends and family to see if they know anybody that might have an "in" to get you out of that nasty place?

It's hard to believe it's Saturday. All of my days of the week around the holiday are getting mixed up. I felt like it was Tuesday yesterday and today feels like a Monday :rolleyespink: I'm going to blame the fact that there is never a day where I only relax and play. There's always some chores to be done. Today I have about 5 loads of laundry and tomorrow will be another 3. On a more cheerful note, I'll be making a beef stew today. I've got some potatoes left in the bag to use up and carrots and some cheapie beef so that's how I'll use it them up. :)

              Cheers all :coffee:

Oh dear @Flumpy ... You've never sounded happy in this job and this must have tipped the scales well and truly over now..surely :noidea: Get out now!!! Make it your New Years Resolution.:blue thumb:

Obviously I don't know (and not asking) about your financial matters but to me nothing is more important than health, physical and mental. If it was me, and I would advise someone close to me to do the same , I would definitely chuck in the job ..this week if possible..and just tightened my spending belt to get by. I would forgo holidays, meals out and any unnecessary spending ....no brainer to me . Something will soon crop up, in the meantime you can enjoy time with your Hubs, Dad, your lovely house and soon ...plenty of gardening time...seed sowing too ..so rewarding and much cheaper than buying plants from the GC.

If you really set your mind to it then you can do it...only you can change this situation.
Do you really need more convincing??:dunno:

If I sound a tad harsh then I sincerely apologise Flumpy.
But I know from experience that pennies can be saved when necessary, you just have to get into a different mode of thinking.

Hubs was made redundant back in 1996 , right in the middle of stage 2 of our house renovations....and with 3 young children too.

I have confidence that as we managed it then so can you and your Hubs...you just need to keep in mind what is most important to you both...and hopefully the answer is ....YOU.!!!!

                    Saturday morning.

Oh, wow, @Flumpy , your manager broke confidence and told a co-worker what you told him. Oh, boy that just gets my anger rising. That is totally against any "good" company policy. I would go to the personnel manager. Keep notes also, documentation, date and time of things the bully does to you. Also anything you see that "manager" nutty.--document, document, get a little notebook, keep in your purse. Your working in a harassment situation not conducive to a good work environment.

@Flumpy ,, Had a position once for 15 years, was the Admissions /Marketing Director/Social Services Director, the first manager--thought I was the stars in the heaven, and treated me that way. Then the second manager ---thought I walked on water. But the third, was horrid, and she treated me horrid, instead of just letting me do my job she got nutty. So I documented and documented. Meant with the CEO, to review, he said he already heard stuff, he got me out there and gave me a 35% raise for "past sins" done to me. Then, in a few weeks they fired her stern. That was many years ago, and never heard of her getting another job in that field again. She could have been on easy street, just leave me alone. She'd be looking good, but she screwed up.
Good luck to you dear. There could be a hidden agenda that manager has, why he blabbed, that could be your ammunition. So many times "people" are put into manager positions just out of seniority, not because they have had good training etc.

Yes, @Upsydaisy , walking is the best "weight bearing exercise" helps with osteoporosis.

Hope to be out in the garden today. Later.

Years ago I worked in a hostile environment and one day when I'd had enough, I lost my temper and told the CEO to stick it. And in vey unladylike terms. I walked out, went to a temp agency to get work and tne atached money as soon as possible. Three days later, I was working. Yes at a lower rate but it got me the basics and plenty of time to plan/search for a new job and with the confidence to be able to not rush into another hostile environment.

You could even visit a temp place in advance to see if they can use your skills. Plus you can pretty much tell them what hours and days you're available

Good last morning of 2023 everybody!!

Your most welcome Flumpy, it's good to share your thoughts and worries as you will receive lots of advice gained by others who have experienced similar issues. It then allows you time to take on board what has been said and to decide if the information offered...or maybe just parts of it can be applied to your situation. Talk things over with your hubby I bet you'll surprise yourselves in discovering just how willing you both are to make temporary compromises for the sake of your wellbeing.
Start the New year with a positive mindset. :dbgrtmb:

On the subject of the New Year....

I was saying to someone the other day that it seems like only yesterday that we were waiting to see in the New Millennium.....it's scary how quickly time passes. I'm sternly telling myself :nonofinger: not to waste time this coming year and I must try to get the most out of everyday ....time is precious, once past it can't be retrieved.

We did manage a nice, albeit ,windy 3 mile walk yesterday. Our walk combined woodland and residential areas ,which was lovely as we got to see all the Christmas decorations the houses and in the gardens.

Today's weather is on the ' iffy' side , hopefully we'll get to do another walk but we'll see how the weather plays out. I would love to get a good long spell out in the garden but at the moment that's not looking very likely not just due to the rain itself but the ground is still holding on to the water and is saturated in places.

Still have one email left to write, but these low light level days cause me eye strain despite having the lights on. This email is to our dear friend /best man at our wedding and his family who live in Florida. We always exchange extremely long emails to each other at New Year. I think I will write it in short instalments throughout the day.

That's my day hopefully.....enjoy yours too.

                              Let the countdown begin.......
