This is what I use on really heavy burnt on stuff - just used it to get burnt stuff off the metal pieces on the toaster and also the breadbox where the regular Dawn dish soap wasn't enough. This stuff will soften and loosen burnt on foods at the bottom of a pot, the oven, almost anything. There was yellow hard spots on bread box. A spray of this, and after a 5 minute wait, it was fairly easy to scrub off with a soft brush.

Here is the box all cleaned up.

@Upsydaisy short sleeve 1 meter, long sleeve 1.75 tunic length 2 cardigan 2.5.

That said, I typically buy 3 if it's cheap and 2 if it's mid price range. I only buy what I really like and I also keep a log of all my patterns with their line drawings and yardage.

This is how I keep organized-
          upload_2023-1-31_14-13-36.png

And I carry a folding clipboard with all of the drawings/patterns including yardages, when I go to the fabric store. I sometimes go there and see a fabric that I want to use, just don't know what for so this helps me make a decision. Then I get home and change my mind about which pattern to use..

Good morning folks, I hope you all got a good night's sleep and woke ready to greet February.

Dentist app. was fine with only an old tiny filling that requires replacing:dunno: apparently. That's booked in for sometime in March.:blue thumb:

Popped into see my sister and she told us of poor Georgie's final issues that led to her being put down. Apparently on top of on going problems her bladder became blocked and was completely full. If left it would definitely cause a fatal infection, but she was too frail to undergo surgery. The vet suggested she could try gentle pressure to see if she could release the contents ( only to make her a bit more comfortable for a while - not a cure) but not too hard as the bladder could burst. That procedure didn't work so a syringe was used to draw some urine out, but within minutes it filled up again. The vet explained the only options left..take her home, as she was definitely fading away but the chance was still there that her bladder could rupture ...or put her to sleep then and there. My sister knew sadly what option was the kindest, so the vet injected her and left my sister with her to cuddle and say goodbye.

Thankfully my sister wasn't alone as she had phoned her husband and he drove over to take them to the vets.

She is pondering whether or not to get another cat, but really she doesn't want one that was able to jump the high fences of her courtyard back garden and go off exploring for fear of it getting run over or into fights with other cats. Georgie was a house cat when my sister adopted her 4 years ago when her owners went to live in America. Gradually she did pluck up the courage to go into the garden but was unable ,and in fact showed no interest , in attempting to climb the fence much to my sister's relief.

                  Decisions, decisions.

Off soon to visit my brother this morning but first I will chance hanging out the laundry as I know there is little chance of a bonfire from the nearby allotments as they had a huge one a couple of weeks ago..so we're safe for a little while longer.

                  Have a good day everyone.

                    Morning all.

It is sunny and breezy with 6c heading for 17c.

Nothing planned as such but I think J will run out to pick up a DHL parcel in a town about a 30km round trip when it should have been delivered to our box. I will contact the Seller and complain ... that is the extent of what I will do today.

Best thing for Georgie Upsy and enjoy your visit with your brother. xx

                      Good day
It is 9f -12C and the skies have only a light layer of clouds and still let lots of brightness through.

@Upsydaisy that is what happened, near the end, to my last cat. Urinary problems. Sad that your sister had to go through that but she made the right decision.

I have a friend coming to visit late this morning so I've got bread dough going and will be making rolls, baguettes and also some butter tarts for them to take home after our visit.

                      Have a lovely day all.

                      Cheers :coffee:

Good Afternoon Vicky and Good Morning to you Lori.:)

Thanks both of you and yes it was definitely the best ,albeit very sad, outcome for Gorgeous Georgie. :cat-kittyandsmiley:

We've just got back from visiting my brother, not quite as chirpy as he has been on our last couple of visits. He wasn't really interested in engaging in chit chat and in fact seemed annoyed at times when I persevered in making 'small talk' and sharing with him about what we been up too etc. :dunno:That's all there is really to talk about now as you can't ask him to recall anything...even from yesterday. I certainly didn't want us to all to sit in silence and have him only talking to his budgie!!

So sad to see him come to this.

While there I became a bit concerned as to what our weather back home was doing as it looked pretty dark over our way. I clicked on one of our outside cameras and noticed that the breeze was quite strong but more worryingly I could see that I had forgotten to use pegs on our duvet cover and sheet!!! :yikes: They were flapping around so much that I expected to find them over in the allotment when we got home......thankfully they were still there but all tangled up on the line. Phew!!

Lori have you ever made a garment from a template you took from an existing fave item of your own clothing?? I borrowed a dressmaking magazine last night from my online County Library and found a section of doing so...in fact they used the original garment itself as the template.

I do have a couple of simple dresses and tops ( summer ones) that I particularly like so I'm considering giving it a go but think that I might try and make a paper pattern rather that just using the item of clothing. Just thought I would see what your thoughts/ experiences of maybe doing so were.

I would so love to live near you Lori and be one of your best buddies....not just for dressmaking advice either....;)......Mmmmm I can smell the bread from here:whistle:.

@Upsydaisy I have only tried a couple of times making things by using garments as templates and only ever once did it work out well. The problem is that if you do not use exactly the same type of fabric to duplicate, it does not go well.

Yes, pressing paper at the seams of a garment and tracing that way would be the best way to do it if you went that route.

                              Morning everyone.:)

                              How are you today.?

                              I can't believe it's Thursday already!!

It looks as if I might finally get a chance to get out in the garden at some point today . We must however go into our local town to pick up some groceries first .

Today does look as if it will be very overcast but as long as there's no rain all will be good.

Have a good day yourselves too.

Deer Living Room.jpeg This is so cute I had to share. A woman opened her door in the snow and found these cuties in her living room.

Morning all. A beautiful but cold start again heading to 17c.

A quiet day ahead. J did shopping yesterday at the Aldi near where he picked up my parcel but has to go get bread today from a different store. Yesterday I started a new 'routine' and achieved my target.

Have a pleasant and safe day whatever you do.
