Morning @Flumpy yes our ground is very soggy too, have to pick the area to work on very carefully . Should be better this afternoon as we then get a bit of any Winter sunshine that's on offer.:fingers crossed:

        Enjoy your day.

Ta da ... home at 11.30 and have had a chocolate milk and croissant, they are like slightly sweet cake like here.

Got there at 10.25 so 35 minutes early. The Security Guard immediately said follow me and took us into a room and Booth 7. A friendly English-speaking gentleman asked for my papers, examined them all, made changes where necessary (new Passport number, correction on my parents Surname), typed in lots of other stuff confirming information, placed me in front of machine, which took my photo, fingerprinted my index fingers and i had to sign on the machine. Back at the desk he handed all my papers back, my old ten-year Residency with hole punched in it and gave me a paper telling me how I pay my 15 Euros after 48 hours to get my card. At 10.45am we were leaving the building, 15 minutes before my appointment time.

J asked the man about his Biocard but he has to physically go to a SEF (Border Control Office), the nearest to us being Portimao as these other temporary SEF offices are only doing BREXIT folk.

Weather was lovely so a nice drive there and back. Now relaxing and thinking about lunch and the furries are out running amuck.

            Good day
It is mild again 38f 3c and cloudy. I too would like to get in the garden @Flumpy but I know I will have to wait until at least the end of March!

@Victoria I am so glad that your experience was smooth, timely and not unpleasant. Sadly that is usually a big pleasant surprise when dealing with any level of government. Well, over here anyway. They seem to specialize in finding ways to get out of helping you over here!

@Upsydaisy same here. I took down my indoor decorations right after Christmas, the outdoor ones are down too as of last Friday and now that our New Year's feast is done, all I have left to do is finish carving the leftover ham and perhaps start a split pea soup with the bone.

@Michael Hewett I look forward to intermittent condensation reports. It is an interesting subject as everyone who has a greenhouse, no matter the type of structure, battles this annoyance!

And yes, I've got the excitement of laundry and a bit of dusting to do too!

            Cheers all :coffee:

I haven't done anything about it yet @CanadianLori, I have to cover the plants first (cacti don't want water dripping on them in the winter) and it's too cold to spend much time out there at the moment. The condensation seems to stay where it is so I don't think it's urgent.

Staying in place is good to hear! I'm sure the plants are enjoying the greenhouse :)

Good morning......a cheery pic for a not so cheery looking day. :heehee:

Off to visit my brother and see how things are for him after his recent overnight stay in hospital following some minor surgery.
I have video called him and he seemed chirpy enough and didn't remember being in hospital anyway. Bless him.

Apart from that...not a lot else, I might tackle the ironing this afternoon.

I hope you all have a day that proves to hold a tad more excitement!!

As my pic says...live fully!!! :roflol:.....like me!!!!!

                        Enjoy.

                          Morning all.

The sun is up but it is chilly for us, 8.6c having gone down to 8.1c but forecast for 17c later.

Upsy, I didn't know R had been in hospital so hoping a;ll is well with hi,m. Safe journey.

I have been lazy over the holiday period and have not been concentrating on my exercise enough so have been feeling rather sluggish. So, today is 'pump up the volume' of steps and lots of balancing exercises, simple things like standing unaided with eyes closed, trying to stand on one foot.

J has a bit of shopping to do at Lidl so may meet Donald for a snack nearby.

                            Good day
It is mild again 36f 2c and the guessers say that building an ark might be a good idea - rain forecast until we all have zero vitamin D left in our bodies.

@Victoria I too am feeling a bit like a sloth. I've been eating too much and mostly useless sweet stuff to boot! I started doing a couple of exercises with some little weights. Part of this blubbery situation started when I stopped exercising a few months ago. I got into a bit of a funk and thought, "well, I'm not going to get any younger so who cares what I look like!". But I don't like the feel of my body as I move about so now the long journey into being a little better in shape.

This morning I have four places to get to. I am picking up some new Christmas ornamental lights that were deeply discounted, and I'm picking up some groceries. I do have to go out of town to a place that sells shipping supplies. Our government has banned grocery stores from selling their single use plastic bags which puts me in a bad spot as I usually have baked goods to give to visitors to take home and I need something to put it in. Even if people were to return the reusable containers, I can't go without food containers in between visits and I see no point in having 30 or so extra containers around. So I'm buying some bags until the wholesale purchase of those is banned and while I am trying to figure out how to handle this. I could ask friends to bring containers with them but then I would have to commit, in advance of every visit, to what I bake. Not an attractive idea as then it would feel like a was working rather than playing.

On a happier note, these rainy days are going to force me to do some rearranging of cupboards that I have been thinking about doing.

                            Cheers :coffee:

Same pic just different wording. :heehee:

Enjoyed our visit this morning, he was absolutely fine and in good spirits. We sat going through the pics of our break up in London with him.

....but our weather is absolutely atrocious :yikes: The rain has been hammering down non stop!! As traffic travels down the roads a tidal wave is created, especially by lorries and buses. I got soaked by a lorry hurtling through a flooded area just by walking the short distance from the bus stop to my brother's place...sitting in wet jeans all morning is definitely not a nice experience!!:sad:

Still pouring down now ,the noise is tremendous as it hits the roof, windows and patios.

To add to our really grotty day we came back to find that our fridge has decided to die on us, I'm not that surprised really as I mentioned to hubs a couple of days ago that I didn't think it was holding down the cold temps. He just didn't say much and seemed unconcerned. He's now online researching latest models.....I'm leaving him to it while I attack the ironing accompanied by some loud music to drown out the rain.:dbgrtmb:

                              Oh happy days.

@Upsydaisy sorry to hear about your fridge deciding to bite the dust. My main floor one died last summer and I got a new one that has the french doors with drawers below. I love love love it! The first drawer is refrigerator temp and a super spot for drinks and cold meats and just about anything that you open the door a lot. Keeps all the cold air from escaping the main cavity. And that section really holds a lot.
