Thanks Lori, that one looks great!!

We do have an older one ( for emergencies) in our garage but fortunately due to the cooler weather most of the contents can be safely stored in our lobby for a couple of days until the new one comes on Friday...hopefully :fingers crossed:

If we encounter and delays then we will get the older one up and running.

Just had a video call with baby son ,he's still in Bolivia but moves on to Chile on Saturday.

He hasn't suffered too badly from altitude sickness this time thankfully, although one of the symptoms is having vivid dreams, and he dreamt that his apartment had been broken into once again and this time it was badly damaged....he has a friend living in his apartment while he's away this time so he contacted him to make sure that all was well.....it was.:dbgrtmb: Phew!!

      Morning all.

I won't say ' good ' as I haven't slept due to incredibly achy legs, knees and hips, I just put it down to all the rain and general dampness.

I also received a message early morning from a dear school friend to inform me that her hubs passed away, I knew he was terminally ill but I didn't expect him to pass so soon, he was my age .

      Oh gosh...too sad for words.

      Have a good day everyone

This somehow didn't post yesterday ... several things didn't?
Lori, Portugal banned single use plastic anything a couple of years ago.

Pleased all was well with R Upsy but a shame about the horrid journey.

I have spent a good hour manicuring, well cutting down my fingernails. Decided to wait till after the holidays. I usually do it once every 4-6 weeks, maybe a bit longer, but file them daily.

Sorry you didn't sleep well Upsy. Maybe all the activity last week is catching up. Also how sad about your friend's hubby. There is too much of this sadness going around as we age. xx

I have been sleeping well of late with at least 6-7 hours snooze time.

The sun is up and it promises to be a nice day.

            Morning Vicky and thanks.

No ,it's more than likely the dampness here, especially after all the torrential rain yesterday, it usually effects my joints.
Just keeping myself dosed up on painkillers today, hopefully by this afternoon I'll feel like getting out in the garden and doing a bit of tidying up after all the rain and strong winds. :fingers crossed:

Too true , I'm beginning to fear asking after people I know but haven't seen of late in case they've passed away.

It's good to hear that you've been sleeping well lately, perhaps you're more relaxed now knowing all the medical results are in.

            Enjoy your sunshine. xx

              Good day
It is still mild 37f 2.5c and the guessers are saying another gloomy and rainy day is on the menu.

@Upsydaisy I'm sorry to hear about your friend's loss however perhaps his death coming sooner was a good thing. It might have saved him extended days of pain? :noidea:

I don't use paper plates or plastic forks, even when I have a crowd here. But I do use plastic bags and cling film. My rubbish bags are plastic and I just cannot see switching to those bins that can get quite cumbersome for someone like myself to maneuver, let alone dealing with having to wash one of those out! Imagine having to clean one of those in the middle of winter when the outside taps cannot be used due to danger of freezing?

@Victoria what do you use in place of cling film and zip lock bags etc? It's the food storage end of things that worry me most.

I have some ice cream to churn this morning and am continuing to simmer the pea soup.

I see that I have forgotten to write the days to germinate on my seed envelopes and will go through the lot today and add that. Once I use those seeds, I'll reuse the envelopes for this fall's collection. :)

              Cheers :coffee:

Morning Lori. I shouldn't have said "anything" as I meant eating utensils, plates, cutlery, straws. You can still buy baggies from sandwich to luncheon. I like aluminium foil but J doesn't use it ... he seems to prefer Tupperware type containers for tiny amounts of things that creates extra washing up (my duty) grrrr!

I have lots of those plastic reusable containers too but I quite often send people home with leftovers or baked stuff and I don't want to use my tupperware containers as waiting for them to come back could be a problem.

The ice cream that I'm churning today will be going into paper "dixie" cups. You know the little 3 oz jobbies you can also use in a bathroom for guests to use and toss. I then put a circle of waxed paper on top to seal. These I can hand out and not feel badly about any environmental consequences.

I use aluminum foil sometimes. Usually when I'm sealing up and baking something in the barbecue instead of grilling it.

Gosh, my head is everywhere!!! I meant sandwich to garbage.

When we get our Chinese takeaways (twice a year) it comes in rectangular sealable quality plastic containers and we must have a dozen, plus little round ones that sauce comes in. I can see your predicament though as you make so many goodies to give away. :love30: You don't really see 'dixie cups' this side of the Atlantic.

Good morning everyone, how are you all today?...well I hope.

Another dry ,albeit lacking in sunshine, day today so I will make the most of it and try and spend the day outside and continue tidying up here and there.

I'm sure all the leaves from the surrounding areas end up in our garden!!!

I hope you all have a pleasant day in store too.

                      Enjoy

The sun is up and we are about 10c heading for 18c so a fine day.
I must look for new morning greetings today. A lot I have saved and need to eliminate them so they will disappear from past posts.
Nothing to speak of going on here today .... but then we lead a fairly quiet life in general. We did when we worked actually.
Hope everyone has a good day whatever you may do.

                          Morning Vicky. :)

Yes I'm debating what good morning pic theme to go with too. I was thinking of ones that depict our day's weather...but that is so changeable!!

I might go for 'funny ' in the hope that they raise a smile or two....even a tiny one. All smiles help to get us through the Winter I like to think.

I save my images too for a while, mainly so I know what I've used and I don't repeat them. Then when I change ' themes' the old ones get deleted, so far they haven't disappeared from any posts displaying them.:noidea:

                          Enjoy you day xx

                              Good day
It is a mild 38f 1c and the rain has not let up. It was torrential at some points last night. I am really fed up with the number of gloomy days in a road. I guess this feeling might be that SADD they talk about. It's not debilitating, just frustrating. On the other hand, I'm lucky it isn't a few degrees colder. If it was, I'd be up to my eyeballs in snow right now!

@Victoria that is too cute! @Upsydaisy I like all the cheerful images.

I've got a day of puttering. First I'll do my Hilda Ogden get up and then I'll fuss around with a top that I cut out. It is the one from waaayyy back that everyone agreed that the asymmetrical collar option was the best. I keep putting it off because the instructions for the pockets are a real mind bender. :rolleyespink:

I've only got one cupboard left in the kitchen clean out and tidy so I may do that later on. Other than that, putter, putter , putter :dbgrtmb:

                              Cheers :coffee:

                                Morning all

                                After Lori's above post...well I just couldn't resist!!!

Hopefully we should get our new fridge this afternoon. We can then stop looking for mould on our food...;)

Yum, yum....it's an acquired taste!! :roflol:

More laundry waiting to be hung out as we have another dry day....too good to miss out on so I went on the search to find things to feed the washing machine with.....and no, the items weren't moldy!!:heehee:

Then I have to help hubs remove the old fridge from the utility room. As it's encased in a tightly fitted space with an overhead cupboard above it we have a friend on standby in case it requires a double dose of male strength and brute force to get it out.

I will have to deal with all the cobwebs and other things that are no doubt lurking behind it.:yikes:

Hopefully I'll also continue with the garden tidy-up too.

                                Have a good day everyone.

                                :spinning:
