Oh @Flumpy I am so sorry.:grphg: It's a most cruel illness to endure and to be a witness to.

Like Vicky has said, I too have lost all my family to it, all except my maternal nan.
3 out of the 5 deaths we've had since Christmas ( 2 being mine & hubs age) were down to it sadly. We never knew that my Mum and Dad had it until it was too late .

Hubs, older sister and I have had varying types of it and we have all survive thank goodness....so it just strengthens the importance of getting an early diagnosis, and acceptance of any screening that you are offered.

I 2nd what Lori said ..take every available opportunity to spend time with your Uncle.

I never got that with my dear Dad as we were in lockdown and he was only diagnosed ,albeit he had been very poorly for a few week prior, 2 days before he passed away.

That’s the problem Lori he doesn’t want us to visit, so do we respect his wishes, he said he only wishes phone calls, it’s so upsetting, and yes here’s me trying to raise money for cancer research but why are we not seeing a change, thanks for all your wishes :imphrt::grphg:

            Good Monday morning everyone .

Why is it that enjoyable days fly by at top speed yet the horrible ones linger on forever it seems?? :noidea:

It was lovely having No.1 son here with us for the weekend. :) On a Mummy downer now.

I was debating on planning another day out for hubs and I to enjoy this week but the weather looks to be on the nippy side. I will keep a close eye on it and decide if we have a good day.

Housework duties, bed stripping this morning and then ,:fingers crossed:, IF the sun decides to shine today it should reach our garden around 1pm and I might get a couple of hours outside.

            Enjoy your day.:)

                Good morning Vicky.

                Love the Van lookalike!!

Hope you had a restful weekend and that you are sleeping better now.

Time is a very strange one isn't it. This was highlighted to me yesterday when talking over sad events with Flumpy.
May will be the 17th and 3rd anniversary of my parents passing away.
Thinking about my Mum and how we all took turns to sit by her bed in ICU. Talking to her for 3 days prior to her slipping away from us ,holding her hand and willing her to wake up from her coma....seems like yesterday. On the other hand....thinking of what our brood have achieved over the years some of which seem a lifetime away. All 3 going to different Universities and getting their degrees...we always had two a uni at the same time which entailed seemingly endless trips back and forth to collect them and take them back at holiday times. Our eldest giving us sleepless nights for a whole year when at 22 he decided to travel alone around the world. Watching with great pride as they established themselves in their chosen careers, welcoming their other halves into our family and celebrating with them when they finally got onto the London property ladder to set up their own nests.
Some of this seems so very long ago now.

Likewise with Dad ,it seems like only a wink of an eye has passed since I was doing his garden and sharing a whole day each week to sort through with him..and play!!, all his music Cds, doing his shopping, housework and laundry...and generally enjoying ( mostly ;)) 'Dad time'.
Yet at the same same Covid came and seemed to last an eternity.

Yes how are see and feel time is very strange indeed.

                Have a good day.xx

                  Good day
It is 17f -7c and cloudy.

Yesterday afternoon the sun cheered up the outdoors and made it a pleasant afternoon. I did a bit more shoveling around the greenhouses so that I now have a bare shovel width path to each of them. The snow around them is only about 8-10 inches deep but has a serious crust of ice which makes it hard to negotiate.

I've got a bit of puttering to do today and a little experiment with some plastic and a heat gun to amuse me.

                  Have a lovely day all.

                  Cheers :coffee:

                    Good morning :)

Had to giggle Lori when you said that your snow was 'only' 8- 10ins deep....only!!! ,that would bring everything here to a standstill ...guaranteed!! It would also be our headline news...of the year!!! :roflol:

Had a good day yesterday, everything when to plan:biggrin: :dbgrtmb:.
More salad was sown and I made headway in bringing a bit of order to the greenhouse too. I hope to carry on with that task this afternoon, it gets so toasty warm in there that it makes even the most mundane jobs a pleasure at this time of year.

                    Have a fab day everyone.:)

Morning all. It looks pleasant out there ... sun breaking up light cloud, 7c going to 16c.

All quiet here today I think. No landline/internet but J said he got a message yesterday saying all will be fixed by 8pm Friday ... :roflol: J's system is working well, computers and TV and remote controlled things.

Enjoy your seed sowing Upsy ... I may do some outside on the weekend in pots..

                        Morning Vicky.:)

These 8pms on Friday's seem to come and go don't they!!

Brilliant that J has got things up and running .......they may have their faults but in our hour ( in your internet case...weeks) of need and desperation they shine!!:heehee:

Not too sure yet if I'll get to sow any more seeds today ..the greenhouse sorting MUST take priority.....no distractions :heehee:.

It's beautifully sunny out there this morning so I might leave it an hour and then go and see if the sun has hit the greenhouse yet. As it's situated at the back it gets sun before the rest of the garden does at this time of year.

16C sounds lovely, especially if you have a place to sit that's a bit of a suntrap. Our little east patio is like that.....well give it another month and it will be, we tend to sit out there to have our morning coffees.

Both of you have a lovely day.xx

J has now looked on the MEO app and it says our number will be fixed by 18 March!!! :wallbanging: I said Whatever is the problem and he said he thinks all the poles must be 30-50 years old and are rotting as he has seen more lines down up toward Messines where the last problem occurred. Thankfully I have a Techno man in house. :love30: :imphrt:

                            Good day
It is 32f 0c and starting to snow again. I was out shoveling the drive at 8 last night as the snow had stopped and the break was going to go through the night with only sprinkles of ice. I'll throw ice melter out of the porch and driveway before trying to walk out there.

@Victoria that is a ridiculously long time to go without internet. In rural areas we do have downed lines from the ice storms we've had recently but the power/utilities are restored fairly quickly. Too bad these people didn't routinely replace poles before they were downed!

@Upsydaisy the guessers are saying the sun may break through for a bit this afternoon but if I do go out to do a bit of sorting in the greenhouses, I will have to shovel again and after an night of ice on top of snow, it is darned heavy stuff!

@Flumpy I'm sending you more hugs. The older we get, the more sad funerals we attend.

I head over to the research place this morning and hopefully won't be there long because if the sun does prevail, I want to be outside for it :)

                            Cheers :coffee:

                              Morning all, how's everyone today?

Looks like we're in for a week of mostly -C nights.
Not looking forward to that at all.

Laundry is all done and I will hang it on the line before I go out.

I'm off into town to meet up with a friend for a coffee, cake and catch-up.

Hopefully I'll get to sow a few more trays of seeds this afternoon.

                              Have a super day.

                              :spinning:
