    Good morning.:)

How are things with you all?

    Vicky did your plants arrive?

Michael glad your day went well and that you're able to get the clock fixed.

Lori I usually have Stocks ,their fragrance is lovely. For some reason that I don't know,:noidea: I've forgotten to sow any this year.

Redstar hope your journey was good and that you both arrived safely at your destination.

Our weather looks to be nice today so
we're off into town this morning.

I didn't get around to writing my email or phoning my friends, but one friend WhatsApp me in the evening to arrange a catchup. So hopefully I will make contact with the other two today.

    Enjoy your day.:)

          Good day
It is now up to 36f 2c but unfortunately not budging much further. And we've got bonus clouds and winds. I'm happy to report though that the heater in the greenhouse kept things around 46f 6c. I set it as low as I dared to try to not give myself a giant gas bill.

@Upsydaisy I too was wondering who would put fur around a plant until I saw the ears. :heehee: Good one @Victoria !

I'm going to sew the hook side of velcro on some heavy clear plastic to make tidier sides for the wood pile cover and that will finish that project. Then I think I'll finally get back to laying out a pattern to make a new top. I laid all of that aside so as to get my hard landscaping done out back.

@Michael Hewett yesterday I thought about you and your love of baked goods because I had an urge for a custard slice. I really should try that again soon. :)

I also may go to see my Aunt at the home. She was born two weeks after Elizabeth II and has been a sweet lady all her life.

          Cheers :coffee:

Morning all, Tuesday. 47 here. almost 8AM
Drove up to our destination, picked up the "special" battery, found a lovely deli, had some yummy sandwiches. Got back home by 3:30PM. So glad to live in the country. Drove through city places in New York, the traffic, the people, the dirt, the road work, yikes. And had to cross a few bridges, seeing ships and barges about. Lots of very tall and wide apartment situations we could see folks live in. We both said so glad we live in the country. He drove back.

Speaking of plants that have scents, some of my daffodils have a lovely fragrance. But right now the 3 Viburnums are blooming --throwing their scent to the wind. Sitting on my deck it floats my way.
And as far as ironing, I hate it. I can do it when necessary, but rather not. So I tend to buy things that don't need it. However, on vacations, even though I try to pack well, I'll take out the hotel board and have to do something to the clothes.
I imagine @CanadianLori your ironing board is in a lovely spot as you need it while sewing up the curtains for folks etc.

Today lots to be done, to the bank , some food shopping, then the chess club. So have a good day all.

I don't own an ironing "board" @redstar . All of my equipment is professional equipment and we don't "sew up" things :roflol: Some of the drapery I have made is 22 feet wide (after pleating) and 17 feet long. I need tables that can handle those lengths. Just an FYI. So many people see those silly DIY shows where someone makes curtains in an hour. So, so homespun!

So you do not hem the curtains? Or organized a liner in the curtain? and then hem that? Does not pleating tacks take some sewing up to hold in place. All the curtains I have gotten have nice 3 inch hems on the bottom which are sewn in place and sewing on the sides or the raw edges. Even the lace curtain has some machine sewing at the top where the rod would run through.

There is some sewing involved but we don't "sew up" items, we fabricate them. We don't use a little old singer on the kitchen table instead we have some $50K worth of equipment to run our businesses. I have my certification through the WCAA (USA) for both fabricating and advising appropriate treatments. I even had to study how glass and then windows are made. Prior to this, I ran a two divisions of a steel company. I much prefer this :)

Curtains have 3" hems and drapery are 4" (5 for 17 footers) and an industrial blind hemmer is used to do that. We rarely do rod pocket panels as that is considered off the rack. I will not make an unlined drape that is not sheer. I will not make certain pelmets and valances because I personally consider them vulgar. And I only work for people who have been referred to me by clients I respect.

Your career of having been a senior clerk/administration in an old folks would certainly not have given you knowledge of workroom activities so I was just trying to politely lead you to not refer to the professional fabricator in what we consider a condescending manner. Believe me, if you went to contract work from one, and accidently used that wording, they would most likely price you away from them.

Not to worry. It's not a big deal. Not like some of the people who had the nerve to ask me to mend something. Now THAT was pretty galling!

Oh how I love looking back in family photo albums....sadly on the decline now since everything is digital and so many ways of storing photos on line now...I might be using the wrong phrases here, but what I mean ( and have absolutely no understanding of) is 'cloud' and usb's and the like..all are beyond me!!:noidea:

I do have a free Flickr account that I find useful for some plant pictures.

Take care and take it slowly.xxx

Redstar I'm glad you had a good trip. How did the Chess go?

Lori we too put all the photos that were found at my parents on to USB sticks, we × 4 so that we all had copies.
Did you get anymore snow...oh how I love snow.:imphrt:

@pete I have a feeling hubs stores our pics on a separate hard drive too...whatever that means :noidea:.
I know I mentioned the 'cloud' thingy earlier ( trying my best to sound tech savvy ;):heehee:) but I only really know of the clouds we get in the sky.....and much prefer the nice white fluffy ones.:cloudy:

Off to visit my brother this morning. He coped pretty well during the funeral service for our Uncle last week. With my Aunt's he stayed on for the Wake too but found it very bewildering, he didn't recognise any of our extended family, lost track very quickly of any conversations that were struck up. This time the joint decision made was to take him back home after the service.
I doubt he will remember anything about last Friday and I certainly won't mention it as it causes him such distress knowing that he had lost all his short term memory now.

Our weather is looking OK and promises to be a pleasant Spring day again.

                              Have a great day now!!!

                              :spinning:
