Dentiset was successful @Upsydaisy, the tooth is mended now.
Have a lovely week end with your son xx

Typical ! Gardening lady is comming this afternoon to help me make some steps in the garden, and we are forecast rain

Well at least there'd be a reason for your chipped tooth @CanadianLori, mine happened when I was eating something soft. It was probably cracked already but I don't know how that happened.

      Good day
It is 42f and the guessers say we are going up to the 70's and not rain until mid afternoon :)

I read late into the night because the book was a good one. It's named "The Vanishing of Margaret Small" and is quite interesting about how those who are mentally handicapped were treated. Lots of other social statements too and which are valid.

I got the new cover for the firewood pile finished yesterday so that takes care of any maintenance down that side of the house. I've got some perennials to replant after moving that raised bed but now that the other perennials on the other side of the yard are battling their way up, I think I'll wait to plant these until I see who did not make it through the winter and then use their spot.

@Michael Hewett I have one molar at the back that the dentist says is trying to crumble and he coated it with that white filling material to try to stave off it breaking. So far I've managed to keep all my own teeth (touching wood here) with the exception of my wisdom teeth which were removed because they were impacted.

The recycle is out at the kerb and I'm going to read the paper before sauntering into my day. :)

      Cheers :coffee:

Morning all, Friday. 61F right now.
And the battery story continues. Back story---we had the builder's assistant look on their records to tell us What type of battery they put in the car, give us the make, model numbers etc. So that was the battery we got. Finally husband was able to get the battery out. It is located under the car in a steel sleeve bolted to the frame and part of it appears in the little trunk part in case it needs a jump. Custom cars are nuts. Anyway, we got the bad battery out, and it does not match the new one . They told us WRONG. I am so pissed at them. So we looked it up, found one that we can get shipped to us, to arrive Saturday. I truly want to find another builder. The big issue with a new builder is that the current one has the information about the paint job on the car, which is a major attraction. I am so disappointed in him, and his office.

Just as an FYI, our show car summer of 2021 was selected one of 6 across the USA for a major competition ins Syracuse, NY. We were up against a Riddler and a Grade 8 car. And last summer a Canadian car show wanted us to bring her up, all expenses paid to have her be the highlight of their show, but with the virus thing still looming we said no.

That book sounds interesting @CanadianLori , I worked in a psychiatric hospital in 1972 to about 1979, it was in Ohio. there was 1800 clients there. And they were treated really well. There were several cottages and buildings. I was the 3rd shift supervisor. So made rounds nightly checking on staff etc. Calling doctors if needed, and getting the nurse involved when needed. Some buildings, the medical building did have nurses on duty to oversee the really physically sick individuals. I know there are areas in the world where mentally handicap were treated really poorly, sadly. In the state I live in now, (PA) there was a psychiatric hospital that was closed due to poor treatment years ago. I don't get how people just thought that was the norm and just let things continue. Some of the clients from there ended up in the homes I supervised in PA, so I had to request old records from that "bad" place to review for good history etc.

Today--Just a few errands for me. More dead heading of daffs. Or whatever needs doing. Always something about. Glad there is no chore police. Have a good day all.

          Morning everyone.

A sad heart has replaced my happy one as in the end baby son didn't make it down for the weekend.

As the trains were going to be a bit messed up on Sunday he decided to get a return coach ticket instead.
He phoned to say he was about to leave and would require picking up just after 9pm in Winchester.
We were actually driving down our lane heading out to collect him when he phoned to say the coach hadn't even left and apparently the next one out would be well after 10pm and that one wouldn't be stopping at Winchester but Southampton instead around 12:30- 12:45am. He said he was tired and fed up after hanging around Victoria since 6:30 and that regrettably he was going to have to call off his visit...we really couldn't blame him at all.

He phoned again whilst on the tube back to his apartment and said that he had things on for the next few weekends but he thinks he'll be able to come down in mid May and that he won't ever book a coach trip down again.
I felt so sorry for him as he sounded so very tired and drained. My poor lovely.

So that's it, on a bit of a downer now.

          Enjoy your day .

            Morning.

Oh sorry Upsy. I know how much you love and eagerly await seeing your boys. :imphrt: It must bw awful relying on public transport. Fortunately I have never had to do such.

It is a lovely fresh sunny morning after our showers yesterday.

            Nothing special planned for today.

              Thanks Vicky.

In our case as a family we've never had issues with our public transport at all and have found it very good and reliable ( for our needs). It has only been in the last 6mths or so that problems have arisen.
Older son has been in London 15yrs, middle one 17yrs ( he went to Uni there, Imperial College) and baby has been up there 11yrs and this is the 1st time a weekend has been cancelled due to transport issues. Sad as it is on the whole we have no complaints.:dbgrtmb:

A day of pottering will now be on our agenda today, plenty to do to help hold back the blues.

So far our weather is looking good here but I don't think it's set to last.

              You and J have a lovely day.xx

That was a big disappointment for you all @Upsydaisy and so annoying too. You can look forward to his May visit now and although it may seem a while, time flies and he'll be with you before you can turn around.
I hope the sunny morning will help you feel a bit better xx

J has had to pop to the Pharmacy as he has a clogged ear again, other one this time. Going to get some Otex or equivalent to try before going to doctor again.

I went out to look at things but it is very cool in the shade so came back in till the sun moves around.

                      Good day,
It is 42f 5c and pouring. Wonderful!! We needed the water and since I finally had decided where to place the chives and a few other old plants and did so yesterday, this rain will water them in beautifully. :)

My main computer screen has decided to ghost me. Nothing but a blank white screen is what it displays at the moment :yikes: I guess I'm going to be shopping the sales listings for a new one. This one that I am using at the moment is old and slow so I won't be posting much until I get this problem resolved.

Other than that, I'm going to have a quiet laundry, baking and cleaning day.

                      Cheers :coffee:

Sorry your son @Upsydaisy did not make it. Traveling /transportation can be nuts sometime. But at least he was able to get back home without being stranded somewhere for an overnight.
Yesterday I went to the local library where they had my winning shots on display, really neat to see my name under 3 pictures. The pictures will be re-located to a few other libraries for the next 5 months, one month each. There are about 40 pictures total, lots are very special. Beautiful shots of the county.
Ok, folks, have a good day. just puttering about here. its 7:25AM.

Thanks for that idea, but they are just pictures. I know others here take awesome shots. I just entered mine and for some reason was chosen for a ribbon. Its really not a "hobbie" , just taking shots here and there like many of us do. Thanks.

Good morning , I hope your weekend is going well.

Apart from wandering around the garden yesterday morning trying to work out a planting out plan for all my young plants next month nothing else was done out there.
After lunch we took my sister out to buy some potting compost and some new pots and planters, she also bough some Summer bedding plants too.

I was very good and only bought some black, green and white fly killer spray.

We then went back to her place and spent the remaining afternoon with her. Hubs drilled out some drainage holes in a coup!e of her new pots.

Today I really must do some potting on as the seedlings are romping away now.:dbgrtmb:

Today looks to be a greyish one with maybe a brighter spell in middle so a day tucked away in my greenhouse sounds like a perfect plan.

Morning all. Sunny and warm with a light breeze. We are in for more above normal temps with no rain in sight.

Although J does not like gardening he has collected three Yukka pups and I need to put those in pots and heaven knows where they will go. He also collects Spider plants and there are three hanging and two in pots, having given Steve one the other week. I also need to pot on a Jatropha and a Hibiscus.

Last night I came to bed and Munch was on the bed sitting up looking at the window. There on the outside windowsill was a pretty white cat with dark ears looking in. Van came onto the bed but didn't see it. Munch ran and jumped on the back of the lounge chair in the window alcove and the interloper jumped down.

                                Trust everyone's day is peaceful.
