        OIP (5) (3).jpg Lori's turn today..

Must say it was a hard choice Lori as you're pretty handy at .....everything!!!

        Good morning all.

I think my feet have grown webbing!! Our lawns are so soggy and are now out of bounds for walking on at the moment.

Slightly better weather today but with thunder as the main ingredient instead.

We might get the kitchen patio spruced up a bit today, but only if and when the thunder stops as I don't like being out in it.

I hope your weather is better than our current lot.

Enjoy your day.......I'll waddle off now and don't any of you throw me bread.....

Morning all. It is very bright and breezy heading for another warm one.

J loved his teapots Upsy and Lori and had a good chuckle, My, you have found some rather unique ones Upsy. I agree Lori is a difficult choice ... imagine having to buy a gift for her :hate-shocked: ... I would choose a unique flower ... like an Hibiscus :heehee: but a hardy one like my pom pom one I am waiting to bloom.

An 'at home' day here, except for a Post Office run.

          Enjoy your day everyone.

            Morning Vicky.

Glad J liked his pots......he couldn't be left now could he.:nonofinger:

I've had fun with this 'theme' and still have a few more to award.;):heehee:.
It certainly has helped me through these couple of weeks by giving me a fun thing to concentrate on......the dreaded period is almost over thank goodness..:)

It's the lull before the ( next) storm here and is currently dry and bright ( ish).

I take it all was calm last night with no visitations.:cat-kittyandsmiley:

            Have a lovely day.xx

Oh, how could I forget!!! Two visitations, both by Tom, at 1am and 3am, but he went into The Jungle Room at 10.20pm. Van missed out on the 3am visit ... he may have been in the lounge on my chair.

                  Good day
It is 48f 8c and there is a thin veil of cloud but it looks to me like that will clear out and the guessers agree and say it will also go up to the 70'sF 20'sC.

@Upsydaisy that is a humdinger of a teapot! Thank you. Actually no one would have a hard time getting me gifts as I don't accept them. I even called my sons yesterday to remind that come Mother's Day (this Sunday) that I only want a telephone call. No cards or flowers. Although I like cards and flowers, times are hard and those things are expensive and it would break my heart to have them spend much needed grocery money on things like those.

@Victoria it's too bad that Tom has taken to trying to serenade your home every night. I hope you're able to train him away.

I have a lovely to do list for today. All of it outside with copious amounts of tea breaks.

                  Cheers :coffee:

Morning Lori , yes we're the same and never have encouraged our sons to buy gifts or cards for us . Recently though I think they having be discussing together their concerns as we age and are living a good distance from them all.
They have jointly bought several surprise pieces of high tech equipment for us that they admit will provide both us and them with great peace of mind.
We do however have ways to sneakily reimburse them without it truly being noticed.;)

                        Have a good day.

It's amazing how you can find a teapot for everyone!

Good morning, I hope this finds everyone well today.

Today is looking much more promising weatherwise, so keeping optimistic that it will stay that way.

Today is the anniversary of losing my Dad...3 years,I can't believe it!!!
I decided not to go up to the cemetery and put fresh flowers because I expect the flowers I put there for Mum last week are still good. Instead I will put flowers with the Donna statue I removed from Dad's pond that I now have in our garden.

I have 1 more teapots to award , I haven't yet searched for it, might prove a bit tricky so I'd better get on and do that now.

                          Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone ... I think if someone wants to buy you a gift you should accept it with thanks, otherwise you are insulting them. They would not buy something they can't afford, and they're doing it to show how much they love you, so by refusing it (or even telling them not to buy it) you are being rude.

My mother was like that. I enjoyed buying her gifts for Christmas and birthday, and a card on Mother's day, because I loved her ... but she would always say "you shouldn't have bothered" or "don't buy a card, I'll use last year's".
I found this hurtful. Why did she reject my love for her like that. It was rude and I told her so, but she still did it ... stupid woman !

And if I had rejected something she gave me she would not have been pleased ... stupid woman !

Anyway, have a nice day ...

Poppets in a pot. I will have to look for more pics today too.

Need I say sunny, breezy and warm! Not sure I remember what rain is like it has been so long. Portugal and Spain are in dire straits.

Nothing on the cards here that I know of.

Tom was early last night at 9.30pm.

                              Have a great day all.

I do get what you mean Michael, but the subtle encouragement started when our boys were struggling students, then struggling rent payers in London and now despite being financially secure, they are struggling mortgage payers with home renovations to do.
I loved it when as children they made their own cards and gifts and this was always encouraged and in fact extended to our wider family members too.
The many children I have had the pleasure to work with were also encouraged to make cards and gifts for their parents , grandparents etc.
A hand made gift especially from a young child just oozes with their love for the recipient imo.:imphrt:
