Good morning everyone, how are you all today?

The Baffa looks great Vicky, it looks so inviting and must be pure bliss sitting in there and escaping the intense heat of the day in Summer.

Lori we too are now having to use mains water , not a single drop of rain water is left. Despite watering all the newly planted plants some definitely don't look too happy....baked by day and chilled at night.
There was no option but to plant out as they were wilting in their little pots and trays and drying out so quickly.

I use to love being in the sun but this year , whether it's because we're not being able to acclimatise due to the drop in night time temps and this prolonged spell of cold easterly winds. I'm finding it hard and uncomfortable in the sun at times even occasionally feeling faint.

Today I'm meeting up with a friend and her two children , we're going for a coffee and wander at a Garden Centre that I've never been to so should be interesting. My friend works as a nurse but takes time off in the school holidays so this is when we get our catch ups.

    Enjoy your day.

Guess what my next theme is? No, Upsy I do not want to sit on that thank you!

Lori, my goodness, you go from ice and snow to boiling in a breath!!!

Sorry you are suffering with the fluctuating temos Upsy. At least we are consistent here.

How did your appointment go yesterday Upsy?

J has his Ultrasound on his neck this afternoon.

I am still trying to sort out J's Residency Card with SEF/Border Control ... I, as a Resident have to proffer him into the country as I did originally (same was for the UK in the 70s).

        Morning Vicky.

Yep I fully agree ,I would have to cross my legs as I wouldn't want to sit on it either!!:roflol:

Fortunately for us here the easterly breezes are more of a welcome as we have the sunshine to accompany them during the daytime. It's in the evenings when the temperature drop hits, after getting hot while out and about/ in the garden the nip in the air is a shock to the system...so out comes the jumpers again, then back to tee-shirts by day...crazy!!

Won't know until I hear back from the Dr. I expect all will be fine. Having said that another technician was called in to view the reading because some part of it seemed slow.:noidea:

I was told not to worry ,so I didn't.......I think!:heehee:

Hope all goes well for J this afternoon.

        Have a good day.xx

          Good day
It is 66f 17c and a very warm start to the day. Yesterday was scorching and the guessers say it will be the same today and tomorrow. Then we are supposed to settle back down to highs of around 20c for a few weeks.

Yes, @Upsydaisy it's been a shock for the plants going from cold to blazing. I keep watering and am looking forward to Saturday's moderating temps.

@Victoria I agree with with @Upsydaisy that room is very welcoming. I should have said it reminds me of my neighbours posh cottage sitting room, not the rustic one I had.

I've already been out to do some shopping as one place opens at 7 and had something on sale that I wanted before they ran out of stock. I've got a few things on my to do list. Nothing heavy duty, more of the puttering type of tasks.

          Cheers :coffee:

Hey, all, back safe and sound. So tired. But tomorrow another car show for the "CAR". Its only an hour from our house, only going over for short days, husband to stay all the day.
Anyway, Sasha--the car won top prize out of 5,000 cars in her category in Missouri. Attached is the trophy. I'll catch up with you all later. Sasha Award.jpg

              Here's a posh one!!!! :)

              OIP (4) (2).jpg

              Good morning everybody.

Welcome back redstar and a huge :congrats:. How brilliant!!! :star:

How did J's Ultrasound go Vicky ?
Is there quite a bit of paperwork involved in securing his residency card still despite the fact that he's lived in Portugal for a fair few years now?

Lori dare I ask.....how are things looking??:fingers crossed:

I enjoyed a really great afternoon with a friend and her 2 children yesterday. The GC was lovely with loads of plants and shrubs set out in a beautiful way with ponds and garden rooms popping up here and there...plus the cafe with its great outdoor seating area!! There's even a little stage for musical entertainment occasionally too.
On the same site they have a very interesting tropical fish/ aquarium centre. My friend's son has his own aquarium and wanted to buy a pregnant shrimp to add to it!!!

When I got back home at 6pm I found another friend of ours and his cute dog had come on an unexpected visit...so hubs had company while I was out .:doggieshmooze:

We are visiting my brother this morning, then instead of coming straight back we plan to spend the afternoon strolling through the park, along the river and around the Abbey of the quaint market town....it will bring back many lovely memories as it's was a place we use to visit very often with my parents and we always went to watch the great event of the Salmon leaping!!!

It's also the Diocese where we were married and hubs and I had to meet with the Bishop of the Abbey to get permission to marry in the lovely little church just up the road from the Abbey as it was the one that served the area where my parents lived. We had to get official permission to wed in church due to the fact of hub's religious background

So really looking forward to recalling very happy memories today....and in stunning sunshine too...a perfect day!!

I hope your day is too.

Two this morning ... don't know how I managed that!

                  Well done Sasha!

No as for Residency card. You only have to do it every ten years .... but dare I say Brexit caused all kinds of problems!!! The main one being everyone had to re-register whether they were expired or not. Secondly SEF/Border Control were dissolving and new people taking over. Even though J is American he came here via the UK so has to follow Brexit riles through me ... and there were just complications. Anyway, I got an e-mail from SEF yesterday explaining what I have to do, so later ....

J meeting up with John today.

                  Enjoy your outing Upsy.

:hapfeet: Just got J registered! Now he has to re-apply for appointment with SEF again!!!

Ultrasound went well. They will send results to GP and gave J a copy which he will take to his Onc appointment on Tuesday.

                        Good day
It is 68f 17c and I was wearing my short legged pajamas while taking the recycle to the kerb this morning. We'd been wrapped up like mummies for so long that the first few times wearing shorts feels strange.

I hope you have a nice sightseeing day @Upsydaisy. A new place every week is quite an accomplishment!

I have a tiny bit of shopping to do today and a short to do list as well. We still haven't had any rain and I must continue watering everybody if I don't want a garden full of dead things. After today, the guessers are still saying it will be "seasonal" temps and down in the 70'sF teens C so hopefully the plants will stop panting.

OMG, a firetruck just pulled in across the street and I don't see any smoke anywhere which really makes me feel sick because they have a swimming pool. And two small boys. :cry3: I hope I am overreacting and it is just a bee sting or something. :fingers crossed:

@Victoria I hope J's results give good news and your paperwork is allowed to flow smoothly.

                        Cheers :coffee:

                          Good morning :).

That's another week gone and another one nearer to Christmas !!!:roflol:

Oh no !! That's not good news at all Vicky!!:yikes: I really hope J gets an appointment in the Algarve area and doesn't end up having to travel further afield.:fingers crossed:

Lori, what was the emergency, I am hoping it was nothing too serious and that everyone is OK.:fingers crossed:

Had a really lovely day yesterday so chilled and unrushed. Our visit to my brother went well but sadly he couldn't recall us going over last Sunday with our youngest broodling.

I'm really hoping to get all the plants in their new permanent homes this weekend, so interruptions will not be welcomed. ;)

Another good weather day is forecast so I must make an early start before it becomes to warm to work in.

                          Have a great Saturday.

He will keeping going on line till an Algarve place comes up, preferably Portimao, Albufeira or Loule. It changes frequently depending which location has vacancies.

No plans here for today. Yet again yesterday's forecast rain evaded Algarve. I believe water restrictions go in place later this month, starting with closure of public swimming pools, parks, golf courses, etc.

Hopefully J won't have to wait too long then.:fingers crossed:

We've noticed the grass is gradually taking on that unappealing yellow look whilst we've been out and about....brings back those horrid visions of last summer.:yikes::sad:

Our clay ground is developing cracks in it, just a nice (1) day of rain is all I ask for to refresh the ground and refill the butts. I hate the parched look..bring back our lush greenery!!!

Have a fab day both of you. xx
