It is 67f 17c and a little hazy. The guessers say it will only get about 5 or 6F warmer today. About 8 last night a thunderstorm blew in and dropped gobs of water with a little hail mixed in. Everything got a dandy watering. And the timing was excellent as I'd just cleaned the gutters on the greenhouses to ensure no water escaped the rain barrels

@Upsydaisy there were no sirens throughout the whole proceeding and the firetrucks left quietly. There also was no ambulance or police presence so I assume all are well and it might have just been a false alarm. They have a security system that I believe is hooked up to a service. I didn't go over and ask because it seemed to me that the couple were inundated with nosy neighbours seeking explanations.

I'm glad you're planting out the last of your seedlings. I have zero new annual seedlings to think about planting...

@Victoria it sounds very much like our various programs. They all do get cancellations so it is nice that we get these opportunities to fill in. I just kept going into the Nexus calendar until one day I stumbled on an opening nearby and within a few weeks instead of months.

I'm about to go out and hang some laundry on the line and not have to water the beds or hanging pots.

Good news in regards to the emergency call out... that was a worrying time for all.

Our alarm system connects up with all the emergency services but fortunately the main control room always contacts us first...which in our case proves very useful as our smoke detectors have gone off twice in the last month....no idea why.

I have laundry out too, dries in just a couple of hours.

Not many flower trays left now....nearly there. Not sure if I actually will get them all planted by the end of the day though....it's going to be a tough challenge...but I'm up for it !! Just warming up my trusty trowel.

Vicky I just had to Google your Submarine Sandwich. It looks really tasty, and I like the idea of warming it up until the cheese melts ....Mmmm...yummy!

Lori how good are you!!! I've reached a conclusion that I must be just too nosey....I wouldn't be able to hold back from going over to the neighbours to find out what had happened.
How very ladylike of you to refrain from such common behaviour.....wish I was more ladyllike.

Righty O....must get on before my trowel gets itself lost..yet again. They don't make trowels like they use to back in the good old days. I swear mine has a mind of it's own.

@Upsydaisy I have the same trouble with my hand tools. They seem to get lost all the time. I guess the rubbery surface on the handles isn't memory foam.. And you are wrong. I am nosey but maybe a little more devious. I know that the ladies on the street will be out having a chat again after walking their kids to school/school buses and I'll stop and chat and get the scoop!

@Victoria it sounds like a pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon. They're airing "Born Yesterday" again today. William Holden/Judy Holliday/Broderick Crawford. I still break up when they do the scene with her dealing cards for a game of gin.

I am going to get into Hilda mode before my beloved Corrie starts in about 20 minutes. I'm going to start the linens and whatever else needs a wash cycle and get those items out on the line while my show is on.

I didn't meet my challenge yesterday as I just couldn't work in the heat of the afternoon. Not sure what's up with me this year as I use to be able to cope with the heat....weird.

I have only got about a dozen new plants left to do and then I must find a Summer home for the remaining Fuchsias. Then that's it!!!

After that it will be deadheading time. and watering .

Upsy, we ended up watching the last three episodes of The Twelve.

J cleaned The Jungle Room up as we have not been able to enter it in more than a year due to The Baffa works and it got full of benches, left over cladding, trellis, etc, etc. Caroline ans Steve are coming for a visit this afternoon and we will sit in either The Baffa or The Jungle Room.

The Twelve.....is that the one about the people that are selected for jury service.....if so then I did begin to watch it but could really 'get into it' , perhaps I shot have another attempt.

Feeling a bit ' off' today....can't put my finger on the cause, so we'll see how the day unravels.

It is 60f and the guessers say it will go up to at least into the mid 70's. It is cloudy but it is those very light grey clouds that are still quite bright.

@Upsydaisy I probably won't be chatting with the ladies until mid week, we'll have to wait until then I seem to remember that you were going through all of your knee business at this time last year? If so, you probably didn't get overheated because you couldn't move in a hurry! Wearing a hat makes a big difference. Me talking, who half the time doesn't remember to wear mine

@Victoria if you keep clearing things out, you'll start feeling like you're in a big mansion with all that freed up space!

I'll be pulling out the pole saw (chain saw on a long pole) today. I believe I've determined the branches I want to hack off before they start producing apples that are never treated and usually land up being full of wasps.

Morning Lori.....OK I'm sure I can manage to hang on a few more days for the conclusion of this mystery emergency saga.......just about.

Gosh it was 2 years ago that my knee was giving me hell, time flies !

No I just feel exhausted and weak......sounds feeble I know.

Just stripping the bed this morning and remaking finished me off...even trying to shake the pillows into the fresh slips took a huge effort let alone the actual battle with the duvet.

Yes I always wear a hat in the garden ...currently donning my Dad's gardening one.
