Morning there redstar, glad to have you back with us.
Happy housework day ( I'm going to try and muster up the energy in a minute to do the vacuuming upstairs) and enjoy your lovely garden.

Souvenir from a trip to London maybe.

      Morning everyone.

Still not feeling a 100% so taking things as they come today.

I was in bed by 9 last night, just felt utterly whacked out all of a sudden for some strange reason. Had a restless night full of silly nonsense dreams. Going to bed early means that I've been wide awake since 3:30am too!! Grrrrr fat lot of good an early night did me.:wallbanging:

So quiet day it will be today.

      Have a good one everyone.

      :spinning:

Simon's Cat ... just love him.

Sorry you are still under the weather Upsy and hope today picks up for you. Maybe it is the about to change weather ... which hopefully we will have too.

We had a great visit from our friends ... we always find something to laugh about. They went away with a self seeded Shrimp Plant (Beleperone), a good size one.

J getting ready to leave for Onc appointment in Alvor. Probably be home by 11-ish,

        I will catch up later.

J's appointment went well with the doc going over his past history. Looked at Ultrasound and asked if he has had recent Dental work :loll:. Making another Ultrasound appointment and a CT Scan, said heeds an ENT exam and Physio. J sees GP tomorrow so will see about those with him. He then goes back to Onc Doc on 8 August.

            Good day
It is 59f and cloudy. The skies actually have a layer of smoke from the fires out west. I don't know why they hadn't done controlled burning in early spring to create fire breaks as these fires happen every year. A lot of them are caused by careless hikers/campers and Smokey the Bear is not here to shut them down either.

@Upsydaisy that is a nasty cycle to get into. I had that last week. The less I slept, the more I wanted to go to bed early so that I would wake up early and on and on. I think I broke that cycle a little. :phew:

@Victoria fingers crossed for J. I hope he only gets good news or easy to cure diagnoses.

I have only a few things I'd like to get done for sure today. When sorting through my gardening chemicals, I came across a spray bottle of lawn fertilizer - the kind you screw onto the end of the hose and I will use that today as the lawn is also very dry. I do have the granular stuff but that will wait for a rainy day. I also may attempt some tree trimming.

A rabbit neatly sliced off the top of one of my tree lilies which has me boiling. I'll have to figure out how to stop this without making everything look like it's behind bars!

            Well, onto my day here.

            Cheers :coffee:

Morning all. quick stop by. I am alive, still exhausted. too much to do to organize garden. and food shop etc. Later. Sleeping in different hotels is draining I believe.

                Morning everyone.

Another nice day ahead but rain is edging nearer by the weekend. It has timed itself perfectly for watering in all the new plants.

Vicky I'm glad everything went Ok for J yesterday, he's certainly having a thorough check up. :blue thumb: That'll give you both a great peace of mind.

Lori those fires and the aftermath they cause sound horrible, can you smell the smoke your way?
I absolutely hate the smell of fires/ bonfires so it would drive me nuts. The occasional bonfires from the nearby allotments are bad enough.

redstar this time of year is a pretty busy one for us all out in the garden but as you been away it must make it worse for you.
At least you've enjoyed a lovely break though.:dbgrtmb:

I make sure we stay put at this time of year, all the family know that we may fit in day visits but definitely not longer ones as the garden catch up would be too much to cope with.

It was hard going yesterday evening but I refused the temptation and tiredness and stayed up until my normal bedtime of 12:30. I can't be doing with waking up at such early hours then having to last the day. I usually wake up around 6 and that's early enough for me to remain fully functional for the day.

Think I've found homes for all the Fuchsias all I need to do is to actually plant them out now, hopefully this morning. :fingers crossed:

                Have a good day everyone.

Morning all. We had a shower about 9pm yesterday. It is grey and breezy now but 22c.

J has the GP appointment later this morning. I think that is about it from here for today.

Have a good one whatever you are doing.

Morning all. Wednesday. Still feeling a rush here. Discovered my Bank switched to a new "type" of online system, so had to go meet with them in person as all accts not linked in. We fixed that. Have to get to the accountant for the bundle of finished tax papers for our signature and mailing to the IRS . Later late this afternoon we drive to Philly to see a lecture about Egypt, husband is into that. He wants to visit Egypt one day, think I will tell him he needs to go by himself.
Briefly read the highlights of your lives all. Hope all goes well with the medical issues, @Victoria .
Hope to get to cutting the grass, front yard at least today. All my seeds I planted prior to leaving in pots have done well thanks to my good neighbor for watering them all. I leave many gallons of water in certain places for ease of watering, he just has to walk about to them all. And the cat seems non the worse of us gone, looks good. Next "planned" car show beginning of August. Some of the hotel stay already locked down, more to work on. Thank goodness, we can be home for almost 2 months. I really did miss home/garden.

                      Good day
It is 53f and very hazy. Turns out I was wrong, the smoke that is filling the air is from the fires in Quebec. It is swirling around to the west and down to us.

@Upsydaisy it smells like a campfire which doesn't really bother me at all. We are not allowed to have open fires in our back gardens. I am constantly amazed at how often I read of bonfires over there as the fire department would be breaking down my door if I tried that! The fires are mostly being mostly caused by careless campers and hikers. Or people throwing cigarette butts out car windows. Stupid stupid people. Campfires have been banned at our campgrounds for weeks now and still the idiots think they can get away with it.

@Victoria sounds like you are having a nice day and I hope J's appointment bears no surprises, at least no bad ones.

                        Good morning everyone.:)

Yet another warm day to come and I'm having a day off from the garden.

Meeting up with very old school school friend and we're having a pub lunch. Fortunately the pub has a lovely garden so we'll be sitting outside and enjoying lunch in the sunshine.

I hope you all have a lovely day too.

Oh no, looks like poor kitty got flushed down the loo and is crawling out!

Had some much needed showers through the night, only 5mm worth but welcomed. Thunderstorms and rain forecast for today, breezy and warm.

I have Neuro appointment for 6 July, his soonest availability at the Guia Clinic.

                          Have a great day Upsy.

                              Good day
It is 56f and the sky is cloaked in clouds and smoke. The guessers say this will be the last day of intense smoke from Quebec. Unfortunately it is now so wide spread, it is even affecting New York city! This is weird because usually it is us who are getting all the pollution from Pittsburgh, Newark, etc.

Cats do look funny when they're soaking wet. Sounds like a fun lunch @Upsydaisy and I believe you are probably having it now, before I've even had my kibble. I hope you're having a lovely time.

@Victoria is Guia a long trip from your home? I'm glad you got rain. We could use some free water. It would help with the fires and smoke too.

Since the air quality outside is the worst (9/10) it has ever been that I can recall, I don't plan on spending much time out there. The idea of gardening in a mask does not appeal. I do have a top cut out and might sew it today.

                              Cheers :coffee:
