Afternoon everyone. You all seem to be having a good Easter Monday albeit inside, outside or getting together with friends. We have been on tender hooks for most of the day waiting for our latest hay delivery. We are nearly out of our last delivered supply but last week the weather forecast gave today as full on rain. Suddenly this changed to today being the only day this coming week possibly without heavy downpours. Quick re-organisation of plans. Our local farmer/supplier lives some 12 miles away and brings us the 8 big square bales up here with his tractor and trailer. Then daughter's ex trundles over with his special machine from 8 miles in the opposite direction to off load it into our (tricky) smallish storage barn. This always has to be around teatime when most of their general farming work has been done, but co-ordinating it can be a nightmare especially in this weather as it is essential that the hay is dry or it will go mouldy if stacked in a damp state. Poor daughter has been pacing the yard for the last half an hour listening for approaching tractors and muttering that rain is forecast by 6 - it is now just coming up to 5.30pm.
But hark! I can hear the sound of noisy vehicles approaching in the distance along our mountain road. Best go and put the kettle on I think.
PS. Would you believe it but they both met on the road right at our driveway. How's that for co-ordination? God bless the farmers we say.

Evening folks. I hope everyone is behaving and have had a decent day.

I’m just home from work. At least it was Bank Hol pay today! We were all feeling a bit tired after the weekend and ‘loosing’ an hour, so we had canteen breakfast to give ourselves a boost!

Just had a lovely video from my niece who had been to watch red kites in the Brecon Beacons yesterday. She was in some sort of ‘hide’ watching them swoop down to feed. A fab experience for her!

Ok it’s time to put the comfy clothes on and make some food. Catch you later.

Hoorah @Anna42. I hope your daughter has unwound somewhat now. Fingers crossed for dry hay.
@AuntyRach, that must have been a terrific, magical time for your niece. I am another comfy clothes person too. Such a joy to kick off the more restrictive clothing.

Glad you’ve got a reliable source of good hay @Anna42 … it’s at a premium this time of year … especially after a poor summer like last year. :blue thumb:

You're supposed to play April Fool tricks before 12 noon @Papi Jo! That's the UK tradition anyway. Maybe it's different in other countries?

@Ladybird4 - I have some ‘loungewear’, which is basically pyjamas but by calling it loungewear you don’t feel quite as lazy! Hehe.

                      Ha ha @Papi Jo!

I've cleaned, painted the stone work with damp proof and covered the shelf with self adhesive vinyl in the cupboard in the breakfast room. It's built into the very thick stone wall. Haven't had trouble with it before but now it was damp inside because the ground is so saturated. Cookery books and table mats live there.

I've also ordered 3 more roses, can't help it

The sun came out at about 4pm so I went out and assembled the new cold frame that OH bought me from Aldi. It's not the highest quality article I've ever seen, but perfectly serviceable. I've secured it on top of the base of my old glass and aluminium one (lid hinging arrangement long since warped beyond repair) so it's tall enough to harden off tomato plants in when they outgrow the spare bedroom windowsill. Just need to get them sown now :)

Afternoon all. It's pouring outside, but the rest of the week should be sunny and warm, according to forecast.
@Ladybird4 , my guests left around eleven this morning, and again we have our peace and routine. It's dark and cold outside, so I make a cup of tea and watch Poirot.

@Ante1 that is sounding better. Hope its like that here too. I am not quizzing in Bolton tonight so I will be watching the TV quizzes instead. My brain will probably explode during Only Connect but Mastermind and Uni Chall might be a little less taxing.
