Not at all, @RowlandsCastle, I have never been either, and have no desire to either. The only shops I like are: book shops, wine shops and of course plant shops.

Nice to see you @PatE - a gold star for OH for sorting it out for you.

I’ve just finished my Pilates class so having a coffee.

Poor OH has had to have a wisdom tooth out. He was complaining of toothache yesterday and managed to get an emergency appointment this morning. There was an abscess apparently so he could choose either antibiotics and a review, or an extraction. He opted for the latter, so his diet for the next few days is somewhat restricted to all things cool, soft and mushy.

Happy birthday to wonky and to anyone else who might have one today.

It’s brightening up a touch, so when I’ve had my coffee a trip to the supermarket is necessary, plus I need to stock up on soft, mushy foodstuffs .

@Ladybird4 we have mainly furnished this house from IKEA, so I like them really.We chose the furniture from the catalogue and were able to do click and collect. It’s the endless walking round the store for one item that was annoying.

Beautiful day again so I hope W.Womble is having the same weather @Dovefromabove. I have worked in glass houses too; grafting grapevines and tending to orchids and it is quite exciting working when there is heavy rain!!

Ikea is good when you know what you want and where to find it. No good for window shopping or choosing presents.

@PatE Get a piece of paper and a pen and write this down which I hope will make it easier for you to find this thread.

I like the smell of a book shop @Punkdoc Quite distinct.

Hung out a load of washing this morning - 1 and a half hours later feeling very pleased with myself I came back in. I decided then and there to clean out the potting shed!!! It is a job that has been pending for about 4/5 years. As you can imagine - plastic pots, tea tins, sticky gloves......

@Dovefromabove I hope Wonky can join us when she has time/glasses - I’d love to hear about the new job.


I’ve done my errands, including a small shop for Dad and taking a wedding gift to my Aunty’s for the newlyweds when they return from honeymoon. I just need to iron my uniform and make a lunch box later, ready for tomorrow.

 

Got down to our dock this morning with my coffee. My view from my bench. Its 46 degrees.

@Brenda I never went to IKEA (Brent Cross) when we lived in Harrow but visited quite a lot when we moved to Belgium. I could go in the week so missed the crowds and it was even OK once Possum was big enough because she liked their meatballs and frites.

It's good for bits and bobs for the kitchen and garden and cotton bedding and I always use the shortcuts to avoid the whole one-way maze design. In Belgium we had to spot them. Here they are sign-posted.

The nearest one here is over an hour away so is never the destination but a "while we're here" shop and its free car park is handy for a tram to the centre of Nantes if we want to go to the cinema. Our new bed is from there and was delivered.

 

Sending special Birthday Wishes to our lovely Wonky Womble, so glad to hear that she is enjoying her new job - they are lucky to have her working there in my opinion. Cant wait to see her here when she has the time.
@PatE I also found it a bit confusing to find my way here each day but I then discovered a quick short cut.
