      Good morning all.
I will do some housework this morning while it’s heavy showers.
Then we are promised a dry, sunny afternoon. As the garden is too wet to do anything I will sit outside reading a book!! :hotsun:

I will keep fingers crossed that you get your wish for a sunny afternoon @Brenda.
I'm hoping that the weekend - at least - may stay dry, as I 've got so many plants now that need to be planted out into their permanent positions.

Thank you @Ladybird4. It will be very dependant on the weather forecast being correct of course.:)

Amazing! We’ve got rain at last. We’ve snoozed most of the afternoon. I know I should be ashamed, but we really enjoyed it.

Nothing to be ashamed of @PatE … you wouldn’t have snoozed if you didn’t need it. :)

                Morning all,
Thank-you for your very kind concern @lizzie27 . The migraines have been with me since I was 21. They have become noticeably worse since a brain haemorrhage in 2018, however I've been to see a neurologist and had an MRI scan, and there are no brain tumours or anything. My continued best wishes to you and your family circle at this very sad time.

Managed to get the washing which I hung out yesterday 40-50% dry, not bad for an overcast day in April. This morning is blustery, but pleasingly sunny and pleasantly mild (perhaps the warmest day of the year so far). The forecast showers today will water in the annual seeds which I incompetently sowed yesterday.

Have a wonderful day today folks, warm wishes to all.

Good morning all. It rained heavily in the night here. Given up looking at the weather forecast, easier to look out of the window and just guess. We live not all that far from the Met Office in Exeter, and given some of their last minute changes to the forecasts, we suspect they do that too!
OH is planning on doing some decorating in the bedroom today, so I will be on assistant duties. I will try and pop out in the garden between showers. Very ashamed that we only got one of our two green bins filled this week, despite having a fortnight to do so. Rain and energy levels mainly to blame. I must try and get ahead of it this week, no last minute panics.

                    Good morning,

We’ve had a lot of rain through the night and earlier this morning, but for the moment, the sun is shining. I’m not sure for how long, though.

The garden is far too soggy to do very much at the moment.

Nothing to be ashamed of @PatE, you obviously needed the snooze and it will have done you good.

Well, a few chores beckon, so I’d better get on with them. Enjoy your day.

OMG! Incessant rain most of yesterday and most of the night.

I spent most the day catching up on "jobs to do", on the telephone and online. All I seem to have done is create more "jobs to do".
I managed to drape a length of muslin over the pear tree in the hopes it will save some of the flowers from the next incoming storm tonight. So far I have had one pear from the tree, absolutely delicious but I have waited so many years for it to fruit, I would love a few more. My fear is the wind will bang the muslin against the flowers and knock them off anyway.

My neighbour has just called to tell me we are shut in as the refuse collection truck has driven off the concrete tracks down our lane and is stuck! I am leaving them to sort it out.

Making preparations for our hallway to be wallpapered tomorrow. First time we'll have had a "professional" decorator in, we usually muddle along ourselves. :nervous:

Sun is shining through the breaks in the clouds here. Hopefully OH will soon finish talking over video link to her brother in Australia. I would like to get to the garden centre before the rain returns.

But, meanwhile, I'll munch on the chocolate biscuits!!

We've been into Périgueux for a meeting with OH's bank adviser about getting him a new French bank card, only to find that he'd made the appointment, online, for next Friday! Anyway he saw another lady and the card is ordered but they have to send it to Norfolk as that is his legal address.

Then we went to the fabulous food shop that I used to go to when I lived near there and bought fresh new season asparagus, an artichoke head each, sea bream fillets, grav lax salmon, and scallops on special offer.

I shall spend the afternoon weeding and planting in the donkey fence bed. Loads of foxgloves are producing flower stems with tight buds. It's another warm day. 20C

                              Good afternoon all.

Have been spending the morning doing bits of this and that, bought some dishwasher and washing machine tablets on line and I've been trying to find the best price. What a palaver, why can't 'they' decide how many to have in a packet instead of some having 25, 38 and 51 tablets, it also doesn't help that some are broken down to 'such' a price per kg, and others are priced per tablet. Anyway, think I found what I wanted.

Been advised by Peter Nyssen that my three ordered dahlia tubers (Trooper Dan, Bull's Pride, and Hapet Blue Eyes) are arriving today, that'll be a nice little job to wake them up.

Kitchen smells delicious, I've got a pork shoulder slowly roasting in the air-fryer, hope to have some pulled pork for dinner.

Have a lovely day everyone, and please don't get blown away.

Good afternoon! I've been out to do the boring household/grocery shopping. It rained hard earlier an when I came in it looked like it had been snowing - petals from my amelanchier all over the pavement. Never mind, they'd be dropping soon anyway.
