    Good morning all.
Is this rain ever going to stop? We had utter deluges yesterday, I was caught in several of them.
I'm just having my coffee after some tasks, then will finish the h'work- maybe get outside for a while if its dry.
I bought a couple of herbs yesterday and a pack of ten half size seed trays for a fiver. I may hold off seed sowing as we're away next weekend for a few days.
Enjoy your day if you can and may the day go well for the workers.

      Good morning all.
No gardening yesterday with all the rain we had.
The house has never been so clean!!
At least the wind has dropped although it would have helped to dry the ground out!!
      Enjoy your day

@pattie, this is one question I have never stopped asking myself. It is so frustrating.

Good morning all, we have storms promised for later, so may need to batten down the hatches.
My neighbour has given me a dozen eggs, she keeps me supplied as she uses my GH to bring on her seeds at this time of the year, so I think a cake baking morning for me!

              Morning all.

Very sorry to hear of the loss of your OH's Sister @steephill . My condolences to you and your OH at this very sad time.

Storm Kathleen on Saturday brought down trees and power lines, causing power cuts for around 34000 people. Winds peaked at 112kph (69mph) according to the Harbour Master. The strange thing was how rain-free it was, so everything ended up coated in a layer of salt. Local coastal defences seem to have held, but there was some coastal flooding elsewhere. The good news is that there were no fatalities due to the storm.

Whatever your plans for today, have a safe and happy one folks.

@Badly_Maintained I was pleased to read that there were no fatalities due to Storm Kathleen but I expect that there will be lots of inconvenience for people as clearing up of debris and re-connecting to power may take some time. Stay safe today.

Morning everybody, cloudy here but at least the wind seems to have dropped. Might take it easy today as I think I overdid it yesterday, a mile and a half walk, followed by 3 hours in the garden. Working on another project, re-instating a strawberry bed in a trough on a raised table to keep them away from the slugs.

Morning all, another busy one getting on with "stuff". Tea break now ☕.
It's cloudy but still and mild, so I'm hoping to get outside later and plant the pastel shades linaria that I grew from seed last year.

A pleasant morning here and the wind has dropped a lot. It feels quite mild. Just got back from coffee morning group and came away with a parsley plant and an anemone plant, so the former will get potted on and the latter can go in the garden. I’ll do that today as the weather is dry enough.
Glad your washing dried well yesterday @JennyJB.
That sounds a sensible plan for today @lizzie27. It’s so easy to get carried away in the moment and overdo things.

We are off to the lakes tomorrow, just overnight, for one of our special meals. It is L'enclume in Cartmel, which has 3 Michelin stars [ for anyone interested ]

The weather Bureau is still predicting snow at Perisher Valley, etc. we’ve decided to drive out to our back area and collect some kindling to get the wood heater revved up. First time this autumn.

Have a wonderful time @Punkdoc … we’ll want to see the menu when you get back.

Washing’s on the line and there’s a load of tea towels etc in the machine having a hot wash, and a loaf of bread is out of the oven and cooling. While the bread was in the oven I negotiated an improved package for less money for our tv, phone and broadband contract

I’ve been giving the plants in containers that were so neglected last year a dose of liquid seaweed tonic and the lollipop bay that I grew from a cutting around 18? years ago has had a good haircut. It badly needs repotting but I can’t manage that on my own … it might even take the three of us … so a tonic will have to do for now.

The potted fig got nothing but the occasional watering last year and this spring it’s got more little figs than ever before … :hapydancsmil:

Whilst wielding the secateurs I also managed to slice my left forefinger … think that’s enough for today. … lunchtime methinks …
