Hello @PatE and all. Just rain here as per usual but I am glad it isn't snow!

 

Had a fun packed night at the Quiz last night but we were beaten by a much stronger team. They were a friendly lot so somehow that took the sting out of losing. They seem to be constantly promoted to then demoted from the First Division. I was glad I wasn't driving home as the rain was atrocious and I really dislke the dazzling headlights in rainy conditions.
@AuntyRach, that advert on TV does make me smile too. I think I'd go for the Cauliflower shade.
@Jacquiscrap. Such a poignant time for you. Seeing your son much have helped with the sadness.
@RowlandsCastle - oops! The compost won't go amiss though.

10C here and grey here … there’s a possibility of drizzle apparently, but it’s dry at the moment. It is quite breezy … the branches of the big oak up the rise are waving about a lot.
My coffee maker is waking up …

 

Good morning all. Day off today but of course it’s raining so not sure how to spend it. Maybe the dreaded housework!

 

@Debs - noooooooooooo not the dreaded hw! Having said that, I might be forced to do some as well - now where is that general anaesthetic??

 

Actually @Ladybird4 i am seriously considering a trip to your neck of the woods just think what I could save on plants! I suppose the cost of fuel would outweigh it. My son used to live up there but he selfishly moved to Birmingham so now I have no excuse to visit.

I've managed to skip to current pages, thanks for advice. I'll try and keep up, but have so much going on at the moment it's tricky.

I've builders both at home and at work, typical, I wait for months and they all come together.

Weather is improving slowly here, although a massive hailstorm yesterday.

School holidays here from Friday, I'm hoping to get busy, seems to be slow getting going this year, one or two hectic days then a lull, very tricky to manage.

@Debs64 yes, the nursery has acres of plants under glass as well as the outdoor stagings so you could keep nice and dry as you searched for your basket plants.
@Dordogne Damsel, I hope that the building work is finished quickly and you can have your home and workplace back to normal.

The thought of snow makes me shiver! No wind here but rain is due soon, surprise surprise.
Bathroom to clean is on my list. I was thinking of going into town for some things for tea, but have managed to put something else together.

I know the compost will always be useful. The bushes are appreciating so already. They are all settling in well.
My OH was most pleased with the progress on the gooseberries. She thoroughly enjoys a gooseberry crumble. She missed them last year.

We are out this evening to our first ever Annual Parish Council meeting. It's something my OH would like to get involved with - or so she thinks! This public meeting might deter her.

I can only hope.

It's been raining. It will probably be a housework and ironing day today.

I hope the hailstorm didn't cause any damage @Dordogne Damsel. They are still repairing rooves in Ribérac that were damaged in the storm a couple of years ago.

 

Goodness @Busy-Lizzie. That must have been a monumental storm.
