Morning all. Sunny here, but rain is forecast later. It's fairly irrelevant because I'm indoors working anyway, but I do like to take a turn around the garden at lunchtime (trying not to get distracted - I'll just pull up that weed/snip off those deadheads, tie that in etc).

Rats, rats and double drat. Rain has stopped play. I got into the garden, pruned my forsythia, planted out two clemmies and then it started. I had to clear all my gear away, extricate Cricket (the cat) from the garage as he thought we were playing a game of hide and seek and then retire indoors to fume. That is me done outside for today I'm afraid.

        Good morning,

I’ve been up and about some time, but only just come to this thread. It started out very bright and sunny, though chilly, first thing, but the clouds are once more building up so I guess that yet more rain is on the way. What a very soggy spring we are having.

At least, @Ladybird4, you managed to get a bit done in the garden today, even if not as much as you’d hoped to.

OH is busy sorting out his clothes cupboard and having a very good cull - so many of his coats and jackets are now way too big for him. A lot of good stuff, too, in good condition, but hopefully someone else will benefit from them. He’s making me feel a bit guilty - I really need to cull my wardrobe too. I’m not very good at parting with things, but to be honest, so many of them haven’t been worn for months (years in some cases), so I should get on and do it.

Well :coffee1: beckons, then I just might go and tackle my clothes cupboard.

Morning everybody, really depressed today, it's raining again which is so frustrating. I found out yesterday that the audiology referral supposedly made 4 months ago wasn't in fact done so I'm now back of the queue again. I've also been made to make an appointment to have my ears checked for wax next week despite me saying that's a waste of everybody's time if nobody knows when I will actually get a hearing check done. No wonder the NHS is in such a mess.

One bit of good news is that OH's hip consultant's secretary rang earlier to call him in to see
the consultant at short notice on Friday to sign the paperwork for his hip operation, which we hope will be done sooner rather than later.

Hope everybody's ok after the storms, especially those near the South coast and Cornwall. Guess there was no beach walks for you @Goldenlily26 !

@Blue arbour that is impressive work done by your OH. I've been culling my wardrobe for a few years now. There is a Sue Ryder place near where my Bestie lives and we take all our stuff there. I still need to get rid of more though.
@lizzie27 I hope all gets sorted soon for you but that is a positive note for your OH.

I'm sorry the blasted rain is ruining everyone's plans again. If it's any consolation, I understand the next few days will be better; but don't quote me on that!
@Ladybird4, your midwife story put the Mackeson advert into my head. Remember the slogan? Apparently the' it does you good' had to be dropped as its claimed health benefits were challenged.
I may be odd, because I do like a good declutter. The only items of clothing I seldom seem to wear are the summer tops- it's not often warm enough for me. I feel the cold all too easily.

                IMG_3916.JPG Afternoon all,
@Ladybird4 Please find above a photo of the unknown herbaceous perennial which is growing in one of my flowerpots. It is about 30cm tall and is flowering now. The photograph is from yesterday. (Apologies for posting the photo here, but I haven't found a spot on the forum where it seems to be OK to post plant photos for identification.)
@lizzie27 very happy to hear your OH got some good news about his forthcoming hip surgery.
@AuntyRach & @Ergates Your posts are making me hungry again. Sounds very delicious, enjoy!
Have fun in your sunshine @Dovefromabove
@Blue arbour kudos to your OH for his good deed.
The good news is that the very heavy rain of this morning has become ordinary rain, at this rate of improvement is will only be light rain by this evening! :)
Enough of my nonsense, but more importantly - I wish a good day to all today.

Hi, chilly here, wrapped in a body warmer with my hand clasped around a cup of tea. LB hope cricket is warming up after getting wet. Alfie lays mostly on a padded footstool I front of the fire. Saying hi to all, first post on here.

Definitely Honesty, @Badly_Maintained, @Bluejayway is correct! It does seed itself around very easily, though, so once you've got it, you'll probably never need any more! Very obliging annual!
