I'm sat on the sofa with a fleece blanket over my knees cos it's cold. Dry and intermitently sunny but very cool. On the other hand, the wisterias are now opening up and buzzing with bees and the perfume is pooled cos there's no wind. Lovely.

Afternoon all. Not much rain here the last few days - just a couple of short sharp showers. It's also been a bit cooler. Don't feel the cold too much but I've been like an Edwardian lady constantly changing between a blouse and a light jumper depending on whether I'm actively working and whether I'm in a sunny room. Notice the heating has just come on. It's only set to 17C so it must be chilly.

Been passing the time waiting for an oil tank man to visit (ours need to be replaced) by ordering 3 roses from David Austen (Desdemona, Kew Gardens and Tottering by Gently) and 3 aconitum ('Stainless Steel' which I've really struggled to find in stock anywhere) and some erysimums from Hayloft Plants.

Afternoon everyone.

It certainly is chilly - I might give in and have the heating on… will be set on 17/18 and only in the snug though (for those who don’t know me, I am Mrs Frugal, patron saint of ‘put another layer on’).

Off this afternoon so trip to the ‘Diddly-Dee’ SM. They have some garden-related bits in the middle aisle. I bought a tarpaulin (handy) and big rope (to tie back a big spruce), which reminded me of a crime drama I once watched where they pulled the cctv for everyone who had bought the same rope as used in a crime. Oh well!

 

I get awesome sunsets at the dock also.

 

Oh sorry about that LB - the 10% code worked for me about an hour ago. No idea.

Tank man just phoned - he won't be here till nearer to 5pm now. Trying to do some business accounts but can't really concentrate as I leap up and down like a Yorkie dog on uppers every time I hear a vehicle approaching...

 

Just busy down here at our Airbnb. Brought some plants from our garden, always extra stuff we have, to plant here. Fixing some issues. Trying to tour the area. Went shopping for a new counter top for the first floor bathroom, its not really needed immediately, just on the list, and getting prices etc. I am very pleased with our cleaners, even the sliding glass door track is shinny clean. and can't find any dust. Right now listening to a male cardinal. There is something interesting I have noted, up north in our trees we have squirrel nests, while there are squirrels to be seen here, can't see one nest up in the trees here. Anyway, take care all.
