Thinking about it LB - Hayloft might have thought I was a new customer and given me the discount anyway. The website didn't recognise my login details probably because it's years since I ordered anything from them.
They seemed to be the only company with this particular aconitum in stock. I already have a few aconitums but they are all beautiful rich dark blues (one lot flowers in July the other ones flower in September / October). Stainless Steel is supposed to be a summer flowering pale blue / grey one which I thought would be nice mixed through.
Aconitums do so much better for me than delphiniums. They don't seem to be attacked by slugs and snails (famous last words...) and I don't have to worry about staking them as they get enough support from surrounding plants. What's not to like?

I have some in my garden @Topbird but they are (as far as I know) not a named variety. They are a sort of cream/gray colour. Like you say, they just get on with life without any problem. Slugs and snails don't like mine.

My daffs have all finished - we've had some quite warm weather the last couple of weeks which always sees them off - that and the wind. They are a lovely burst of sunshine in spring Rosie. I'm enjoying the crab apple blossom at the moment.

Welcome @Rosie loves nature or should that be welcome back?

How lovely to finally get your settee back @Goldenlily26, I bet you're pleased as punch.

Do tell @AuntyRach, what is the DiddlyDee SM? Sounds intriguing.

Thanks @Obelix-Vendée , I feel better tonight, thank goodness I don't usually suffer the dismals for long. I'm anxiously watching my wisteria blooms on the terrace wall - watched one of the squirrels eating a promising bud last weekend, wished I had a shotgun! They are just beginning suddenly to turn purple, just need some sunshine now.

Aconites are very poisonous. I wonder if they are also poison for slugs and snails?

We did the weekly shop this morning. I had to get something for the bring and share lunch after the Gardening Club meeting and talk tomorrow. They are celebrating 20 years.

This afternoon we did gardening together, weeded, tidied and edged the 2 beds at the entrance to the vegetable garden.

I'm a happy bunny. Farmer Gracy sent me replacements for the plants which had suffered from being sent over the Easter period - no quibbles, and I didn't have to ask - I just sent a polite email describing the problems, and stressing that I was sure this was a one-off since I'd always had excellent bulbs & plants from them in the past. The replacements are lovely and fresh, and now potted up in the "blow-away". :spinning:

Good morning all. I had mostly sleepless night. After beautiful day yesterday storm with extremely high wind arrived during night. Now I can see that few of my plants in front garden are smashed. So again...Plan for today is first finish my tea, then school, and visit to SM and garden center. Wish you all a lovely day.

                        Hi all

Back from our lovely foodie break to Cartmel, truly fabulous food, it is my new favourite restaurant.
The weather was atrocious and the village was starting to flood as we left, the M6 was also dreadful.

The weather certainly was grim but I'm glad you had some delicious food. Have you ever been up to Cartmel Races @Punkdoc? It is definitely worth a visit.

@Busy-Lizzie, I think you are right about the aconitums. Enjoy yourself at the Gardening Club today.
@Liriodendron, that is excellent customer service. I buy plants online and that is one place I've heard of but never really looked at before. Perhaps I'll go and take a squiz.
