@Jenny_Aster, sending up positive thoughts for you both.
@Topbird, absolutely right about the nursery - I wonder what might sneak into your basket alongside the compost

Good morning all. Just a heads up,Thompson and Morgan have a seed sale on if anyone fancies a bargain. I just got a few packets as it’s also free delivery. Some for next year and also lettuce, I have a tortoise Graham who only really likes very fresh leaves so I grow them for him.

Oops - people were chatting while I was writing...

Jenny - fingers crossed all goes well for your hubby and there is a positive outcome from his treatment.

Shiney - think we sometimes forget that other languages have a 'posh' variant too!

Dove - thanks for that link - I've bookmarked it. I did an Indian cookery course many moons ago and learned some aunthentic dishes and methods. I also make my own curry mixes but some of the Spice Tailor 'kits' make a decent & very convenient short cut. Might make a mung bean dhaal and chapatis this week.

LB - there won't be much leaping into my basket but I did see that the nursery had a selection of euphorbias which could be tempting....

          Good morning all.
Today is going to be a quiet day.
I had forgotten yesterday was the last day of school holiday, Easter break. Traffic was horrendous, plus road works and long diversions. It took me an hours crawl to get to the beach and again when I came home. It was too hot in the car to leave the dog whilst I did my shopping so had to bring him home, have a rest for a couple of hours then go out at 6.00pm to do my shopping.
          Not my idea of fun.
It was a glorious day, and the washing was dry enough to fold and put away immediately when I took it in.
Anyone want a bantam cockerel? My neighbour has 3 going spare. Thank goodness only the dominant one crows, he is very vocal, strides around his estate each morning shouting the odds, with his entourage of hens following. The subservient cockerels are not allowed to crow.

                Morning all.

I hope the new treatment works for your OH, @Jenny_Aster.

Ha ha @Ladybird4, the last thing I want is another cockerel. Have to say it was a relief when that one died, it seemed to think our garden was its bedroom. Note to those who didn't hear the history, he was an unwanted cockerel who someone dumped in the field behind our cottage in Norfolk. There were 6 but the others were caught. This one was fast and cunning and very noisy at 4am.

Sunny, 27C forecast for this afternoon.

We are going to the DIY place to see if they've still got the paving stones I wanted for the new path from the garage barn. C, the handyman, rang last night to say he could load them into our cars on Monday afternoon, not much notice, but I asked him a while ago and he was too busy. I asked the man in the shop but he said they didn't deliver and they don't help customers load their cars, not very friendly. However, I bought the wood burner from them and they delivered it. Only 5 mins drive away.

Then I must deal with the potato patch.

                  Good morning all.

A decent weather day here, so I will do some gardening bits today. Will this be the day to dig out the big Viburnum stump?? I’ve woken up with a sore throat though! Absolutely typical for my week off!

Have a good day everyone- be it relaxing, socialising, or being productive.

The TV is fully occupied with the actions of a bloke who’d has been on a stabbing riot in Bondi Junction shopping area. 9 dead and more stabbed. One who was stabbed is a 5 months old baby. Shocking.

                        Yawn Yawn.
I have decided it is time to stop walking my dog on the beach during the day.
I of course never feed him!
He can smell a pasty from a mile away as well as sandwiches etc., so small children sitting on the sand eating is an open invitation to him to help them eat whatever they have.
The beach I use is one of the very few rated as a year round dog walking area but I understand people being upset by scavenger dogs being uncontrolled.
I feel sorry for Rob because having something delicious waved around at his face level must be so tempting! Fortunately he is very polite and gentle when stealing food, he grew up with a little boy before I took him on, but strangers are not to know that and I am always surprised at how many children are taught to be afraid of dogs by the adults they are with.
There is free parking between 5.00pm and 9.00am so some early/late walks coming up while the longer days are here.

I’ve just seen on my news feed that the attacker has been shot dead by officers.

Good morning everyone. Apologies for not being around much lately but I do zoom in to read back over all your activities. Here we have been on tender hooks for the last few months and things are now racking up to near boiling point. G/daughter will be producing her second son in the next week or two (present son is now 6 years old), and this little baby's journey to birth must be one of the best documented made. From 4 weeks he has been scanned every 4 weeks and once he passed the 23 week stage it became weekly scans to carefully monitor his progress. All is well although he is a little underweight right now.
G/daughter had a C section for her first son due to a minor matter and baby getting a bit distressed, but during the past four years she has had a burst appendix, bad sepsis, and covid three times, hospitalised twice. It is the sepsis that has caused the problem or rather it is her very strong immune system. Now I have no idea what I am talking about but will give you the explanation (child like) that the hospital gave the family at the time in the hope that you get the general idea - close your ears puncdock please. Very ill with the sepsis her immune system stepped in and gathered all the poisons into little pockets internally and sealed them away from harm. This meant powerful anti-biotics to try to enter these pockets to clear the infections. Eventually successful but it has left (or so it seems from the recent scans) quite a large amount of scar tissue which has also meant that her tummy has not been stretching quite so easily to take this pregnancy. The doctors would rather she gave birth normally this time and are hoping not to do another C-section due to all the scar tissue already present. She finished work this week preferring to take her maternity leave after baby's arrival and is feeling fine in herself with just another 10 days to go to make her 40weeks. So now we wait.
                            Have a lovely weekend folks.

@PatE. I texted my niece-in-law who lives in Sydney and neither she nor my nephew had heard anything about it until my message. Absolutly dreadful!. It does make you realise that noone is safe if someone is of a mind to carry out such an atrocity.

@Anna42. Got fingers crossed here that all goes well with the birth of this new little person and that your G/daughter recovers well afterwards. I'm sure that there must be incredible excitement and bated breaths in the family.
