My very best wishes to you and your Husband @Jenny_Aster

@Anna42 I'm hoping for a safe delivery for both your Granddaughter and her new Son.

@PatE I hope all your friends and loved ones are safe.

The pleasantly mild weather is returning to more average conditions for this time of year (showers, forecast high 12C). It was nice while it lasted :)

Have a safe day in your gardens folks, and best wishes to all as always.

A better explanation than most drs. would manage, @Anna42.
Well I got dressed for some gardening, but then it started hoeing it down, so I am inside pricking out more seeds, if only I had somewhere to put them.

That's tragic news, @PatE . That sort of thing seems to be happening more and more.

I hope all goes well for your granddaughter @Anna42 and her baby arrives safely.

We went to the DIY place and there was a much friendlier man who said they could deliver the paving stones on Thursday for 30€. No sign of the unfriendly man who I saw in the winter. I wonder if he got the sack.

            Good afternoon,

Well, it’s decided to be showery today, so the grass hasn’t got cut. OH got all kitted up to do it this morning and the showers began. It’s brighter now, for a while, but too late as we’ve a birthday party to attend later this afternoon. We older folks have been invited early, then all the younger ones start arriving from 7pm, by which time we’ll be heading home. I imagine they’ll decamp into the garden as quite a lot are expected, so I hope the rain eases for them.

My niece has just given birth to a daughter, so another April birthday to add to the collection (we have quite a few :)).

Thats yet another tragic knifing event, those poor souls. What on earth is the matter with some people?

Morning all. Still in North Carolina.
Just puttering about doing stuff. Husband working on fixing some parts of the deck to make more secure. We have a person coming on Monday to fix the dock walk, again to make secure. I think husband is tired of all these little chores he's doing. I have been freshening up stuff with some paint, outside things. Have a few errands to run to soon. We are planning later to go to my favorite restaurant in town, its this one-------https://cypresshallrestaurant.com/

It is 62 degrees now. Part of me miss my house up North as I know I am missing some blooming bulbs now. Told my neighbors to go walk about and enjoy them.

On major difference between here and our place up North is the distance to stores, to get to a good hardware store its 25 mins here, for up north its 5 mins. The food store here is 6 miles away, up North its 2 miles. But there is a dollar store about 3 miles from here, "that's special", LOL. Oh well. Later.

@redstar, tried to look at the menu but got a 404 message saying page could not be found. A shame but I'm sure that you will enjoy your meal.
England have just beaten Scotland 46-0 in the Six Nations game. Shocking conditions to play in in Edinburgh though.

                      Evening folks.

I did have my fix in the garden today, but it was disappointingly chilly this afternoon so I didn’t finish everything (what am I saying…I’ll never finish everything!).

Just had early supper of flatbreads with beef in a shawarma style sauce with a salad of pea shoots, olives, feta, spring onions and cucumber.

Have a good second half of the weekend folks.

A couple of hours digging up brambles this morning , the area I’m working in is actually starting to look different, definitely a result! Yet again, I forgot to take a before picture, so I can work out if I’m making an impact. This evening, I popped out again and attacked a big patch of wild garlic. It’s really out of control, and too many to pull out individual bulbs, but maybe if I take the leaves off down to below ground level, that might deter it a bit. At least the digging hoe made short work of a decent area of the stuff.
I hope I haven’t done my back in, but I was being careful not to do too much bending over.
Weather was actually very nice today, hope the weekend is going well?

I haven't done much today, seeds in GH are all doing well apart from the tomatoes which don't want to germinate. The temperature has been 28 today, crazy weather for April, it's due to go down to about 14 next week! We watched GB ladies beat France in the tennis this afternoon as it was too hot to be outside.
Hope you are all having an enjoyable weekend, night all.

I caught the awful news from Sydney on the early BBC news and immediately thought of you @PatE wondering if you had relatives or friends there. Daughter has a half sister living out there now married to a policeman, no news yet as to whether he will have been involved in any of this.

Many congratulations to your niece and her family @Blue arbour on the birth of her baby daughter. And many thanks to everyone on their good wishes for my G/daughter. And my thanks to @Punkdoc for his kind remark.

With all his good signs our eagerly awaited little boy should be fine now, it is G/daughter who will need care if she has to have another C-section alongside her previous one, plus the scar tissue she has dotted about internally. But she has a great team around her at the maternity unit and is in good hands.

All we need now is a few nice days so that we can get out into the garden to do some sorting, tidying and planting while we wait.
