@lizzie27, I hope that the flying debris hasn't damaged your car at all.

We spent the weekend in Leics in lovely weather renovating a small area of garden at mum’s. Drove home yesterday through almost every type of weather, starting with thunder before we set off! Luckily the traffic wasn’t too bad (it’s a long way!). I need to stir myself now to decide what to do today…

Good morning @Golarne. I notice you are situated in Pembrokeshire so yes, that will have been a long drive home from Leicester. Seeing your location brought back some wonderful memories of my field studies course whilst I was training to be a teacher. I spent a couple of weeks at a field studies centre called Orielton and from there we carried out comparative ecological work at a beautiful place called Bosherston Lily Ponds and along the coast, looking at the differences between fresh and salt water habitats. I learned the sneaky way to dislodge limpets from rocks - we didn't harm any living thing I hasten to add - by giving them a sharp strike on the shell side before they have a chance to 'pull' up the middle of their muscular foot thus creating a vacuum which makes them immoveable. They were such happy times then and I will always cherish those memories.

          Good morning all :coffee1:
More than enough downpours here yesterday @PatE … would love to send you some … if only we had a large enough bucket :noidea:

Hope everyone had a restful night … WonkyWomble said some of the glasshouses had a bit of storm damage yesterday … Hope we’ve seen the last of that ‘weather’.

@Golarne … I love south Wales… I spent lots of time there in my youth with my cousins who live on the Gower peninsula … wonderful place and wonderful times, riding, surfing beach combing and foraging. Idyllic. We also have a relative in Pembrokeshire but I don’t know that area as well as Gwyr. :)

              Good morning all.
A bright sunny start but showers due this afternoon.
No gardening today as it’s shopping day.
Hope you all have a nice day

                  Morning all.

The bistrot set little table and 2 chairs that I ordered for the gazebo didn't come yesterday. Big river company now say it will be today. Bother, I have to go to the DIY place to order some gutters to be delivered with the paving stones for the path on Thursday. CB has, at last, measured up for the gutters. They were damaged by the huge hailstorm in 2022. I hope the delivery comes this morning.

Morning all. It was a wild day yesterday with a few sharp showers (no thunderstorms though) and very strong winds. We didn't really have a lot of rain, but what we did get came in brief, heavy squalls. Most of the crab apple blossom is no more - it's usually a glorious sight through until May.
Not gardening weather yesterday so I did a SM run, then made up 4 individual chicken and leek pies with some left over roast chook and then we did some holiday planning - mainly just firming up dates for the calendar.
Still windy today, so I think I'll do the business accounts and start filling in my spreadsheets for tax returns. I have 4 to do each year - partnership, mine, OH's and mother-in-law's. It's a chore I like to tidy away before the end of May otherwise it hangs like the sword of Damocles all summer....

Hello @Bluejayway, I've been in touch with her and she is still getting over that procedure she had a few weeks back. She and her OH have been busy in the garden as usual. Hmmm just had a thought - I am now very jealous as she must have had decent weather, unlike where I am!:noidea:

@Topbird, you could do with an assistant. Shame Biglad hasn't caught up with us.

Morning all ☕. I hope @Songbird and @Star gaze Lily are OK. Maybe life's just busy.
The wind yesterday and overnight doesn't seem to have done any serious damage here, just some leaves blown off things, and the rain was welcome if not very convenient. You know hoe the garden kind of loses its sparkle a bit when it's just starting to get a bit on the dry side, not quite enough rain to keep up with the amount of plant growth? It had got there on Sunday. Better now after a few decent showers yesterday (8mm total, that's really pretty good for a single day here). Now the forecast is drier and I have three days work and - typical

Isn't it a pain when a delivery doesn't happen on the day you expect it to? Fingers crossed it does happen earlier today rather than later so you have some decent time to do what you want to.
