Morning everyone. Our son came down for a short visit last night. Hubby and son have gone to town for shopping this morning, so I’ve stayed quietly at home.

 

Good morning all. It's reasonable calm morning after rough night. We had hail, snow, rain, wind and who knows what else. Now is only 5℃. I stored all my veggie seedlings on safe, but shelf with amaryllis was blown away. I found all plants and will repot them today. It's election day and we have free day. First time that elections are at Wednesday.

it’s only 4C here and there was the sparkle of frost on the roofs when I looked out of the window in the night … then it rained and the frost was gone … now we have blue sky and sunshine … but for how long …

I am so busy it's untrue, but I just wanted to say hello to everyone.

Charlie in Italy for 10 days, having a lovely time, I have a friend staying with me in my (building site ) house, all a bit stressful.

Kitchen at CdeG still not finished, every day they say tomorrow.... getting on my nerves now.

Other than that all ok. Gentleman friend has been very supportive. He is still adorable.

I am taking 15 people on a guided walk this afternoon, after I have been to a funeral and worked over the lunchtime session, need to get some petrol too at some point....

I promise to try and catch up with you all later.

Good morning all.
Spent two hours in A&E yesterday afternoon as a regular blood test I have showed high potassium. I felt perfectly fine but the city hospital insisted I go for another check. I was treated as a real emergency and was seen to very quickly. After having observations, heart trace and another blood test, and not displaying any symptoms, I was given the all clear. So home I went to cook our dinner. I felt such a fraud in these times of high demands on the NHS but it wasn’t my choice to go.
I have nothing but praise for the NHS.
Today I am going to a garden centre with my sister.

Good morning all. Lovely day off in the garden yesterday despite the strange weather it was mostly pleasant and I got more lilies planted up. I adore them especially the rose lilies which don’t have pollen and love having them in the house as cut flowers. I am a little obsessive when it comes to the darned lily beetles so keeping them together makes the daily hunt for the scarlet destroyer a bit easier.
Work today what jolly fun!

 

@Brenda, I had a very similar experience to you a couple of months ago. I'd had a routine blood test at my Doctor's and I won't bore you with all the details but the Doctor at the hospital told me that when blood tests are taken at surgeries first thing in the morning and then only sent for testing at the end of the day, the red blood cells can break down releasing potassium into the blood sample which then give an incorrect reading. Suffice it to say, I was just happy that the NHS were looking after me despite being awoken by a panic call at 01:05 in the morning, insisting I get to hospital ASAP.
@Debs, fingers crossed you don't get any angry customers today.

@Ladybird4 I think that was the problem. The nurse told me that if a blood sample is left standing too long the potassium rises. I had the first blood test at 10am (at our local hospital) and the city hospital were ringing me at 2pm re the ‘problem’. I don’t know if that’s considered too long. I did have a slightly high potassium count a couple of months ago but not high enough for them to worry about. Oh well better safe than sorry!!

 

Hello all. We’re are a nice day. Son has taken over the kitchen, so a different meal tonight. I think he’s bored with Hubby’s efforts.
