We suddenly decided about an hour or so ago to head out to Winchester for a bite to eat then just before we left our eldest phoned to say he'll be arriving this afternoon for a long weekend stay!!

A mad tidy up now and making up his bed. So excited !!!!!!:hapydancsmil::hapfeet:

      Good day
It is right on the freezing mark this morning and it looks like I will need my sunglasses today too!

The recycle and rubbish is all at the kerb awaiting collection and I've switched my vehicles around and ready for me to take the Mustang for today's drives.

I'll do the exam and on the way back, after lunch, I'll pick up a fb marketplace find of thread spool holders. The lady is selling them for 1/4 of their original price and has 4 of them. They had discontinued these years ago and this is wonderful. I can get the rest of my threads now neatly organized.

And also, I'll visit Freshco's on the way home as they have flour on offer for $10 per 10 kilos. Wonderful. I bought two yesterday and I'll pick up 3 more which will get me through the spring :)

      Cheers :coffee:

Friday. Happy new month BTW. Rained again this morning, so too soggy for leaves. Will spend time in the garden with pruning, limb pick up etc. --fun.

Looking about on Airbnb site for places in Maine, found some neat stuff. Still in the planning stage. And then to Nova Scotia, at the same time.

Have a good day all. Take care.

No plans whatsoever for today just a go with the flow day to enjoy this very unexpected weekend visit from our eldest.

          Have a super Saturday yourselves.

Morning all. A fine weekend is forecast for here. I wish I could believe the weather forecasters as they are all saying rain for four days next weekend. We had one day in January ... in this our rain season. Sigh!

Nothing in particular going on here but I plan to get out this morning as there are still a few big pots I would like to tend to.

Enjoy the flow Upsy ... and I too am still giggling.

                  Hi Flumpy

Yes they always say that, but you get to know your own garden and learn who lives there and where., I certainly don't disturb every area.We have plenty of areas for wildlife to cosy down for Winter and I know for certain they aren't amongst all the dead foliage of last year's plants in the borders..:dbgrtmb:....I think sometimes it's an excuse not to go and and tidy up!!!!:heehee: Just keep your eyes peeled as you work , you'll see the signs if you have hibernaters in your borders to be sure ...I go extra carefully near where the borders meet the hedging or under trees...more sheltered and potentially areas for sleeping critters.:dbgrtmb:

                  Have a great weekend.

                    Good day
It is 25f so about -4c and I believe the sun is going to beam on me again :)

We're the opposite here @Victoria. We've had so many mild days that it seems to have been a constant state of drizzle. I'm glad the temps dipped to bring out the sun.

Em is going to meet her friends to get her nails painted at lunchtime today so I shall get things tidied for when they come back here after. Later I'll drive them home to save their parents coming out again. I'll put on extra dough to bake buns for them to take home too.

I still giggle too - I have a close friend who is "well built" and rarely wears that undergarment so I shall send her a certain video... :heehee: I'm reminded of that news story about the drunken naked lady and the pub crawl. I wish I could find that one again to share.

I don't know how I did on my exam yesterday. We were supposed to start at 11 but we all agreed to skip breaks and then breeze through the introductions and also not have a lunch time either. I finished at 1:30 and was glad to be out of there. I wore my coat the whole time to keep warm but my feet were blocks of ice by the time we finished.

                    Cheers :coffee:

                        How are you all today?

I'm full of the joys of Spring today..:hapydancsmil:.. We have No1 son staying with us until Tuesday :yahoo: , No2 son and fiancee called yesterday for a nice long chat :yahoo:, and we had a video call from No.3 son ....showing off his tan before it fades ;), and he is flying home tomorrow :yahoo:. I'm very lucky I know, everything is good in our personal little world right now, I so wish the same could be said for others ,especially those caught up in conflict zones and those who live in famine struck areas .:sad:

A bit of s grey day today but I really don't mind.

                        Have a great Sunday.

Morning all. A nice day ahead. I was reading an article yesterday which said we, Algarve, may not have a Winter this year!

I can imagine you are in Seventh Heaven Upsy. :imphrt:

Nothing planned so nothing to report. Did not get out to do the pots yesterday as J said the wind was too sharp and I need him to move things toward me, so hopefully today.

                          Enjoy the day.

                            Good day
It is 24f -3c and sunny again :)

@Upsydaisy I count myself lucky too as both my sons live near me. @Victoria I was beginning to think we weren't going to have one of our true winters as well however the guessers have said that no, January doesn't usually get heavy snowfalls. We usually get whacked in February and March. I'm ready to bundle up and shovel any time

It is 10 minutes to Corrie and I am all set with my Hilda hair and cuppa. I've still got the lemons and limes to process for making marmalade. I have something on nearly every day this week. And most of it is sociable.

                            Have a lovely day all

                              Sunday, 9:33Am here.
Busy with house stuff yesterday, and then later went to a Robert Burns Supper, connected with others who return every year, met new folks. Good times.
Tonight will be driving to a restaurant to see friend that plays in the band, it was husband's best man at our wedding.
Drying out some, will try a few leaf removal places for a couple hours.
                              Take care.

                                Good Morning !!

Another grey but mild and dry day today.... it could be worse so no grumbles from me.

Yesterday we watched Maestro on Netflix , it was good but won't go down as a favourite with me. There's been a lot of talk about it and it's nominated for lot of awards but for me..Hmmmm it was just ...ok.

Another ' go with the flow day' today. Just chilling and chatting.

Youngest should be just about settling off on his long flight home..landing about 11pm.

                                We'll definitely sleep well tonight.:snooze::snooze:

Whatever you're up to have an enjoyable day.
                                :spinning:
