A late good morning from me on this wet and gloomy day.
Mustn’t complain as I got my two consecutive dry days for gardening over the weekend.
Hope you all enjoy your day

      Hi all

      Back to usual rain today.
Have potted on a dozen Ricin seedlings, so if I am not here tomorrow, you will know I didn't wash my hands properly.
Is anyone else watching This Town on TV, I am loving it, so many memories of home.

        Good afternoon all.

It's sunny but there's a blustery wind with a good nip in it today. Far too early to be planting up the vegetable garden. I don't need a poly tunnel down here - stuff gets planted out after the chance of a late frost around mid-May. Some have planted tomatoes in their garden, but I think a plant has a life span, and often by mid-August their plants are spent. Especially with the last 2 very hot dry summers.

We don't have baby showers in this part of France as such @redstar, but they have a Baby List. You can choose the gift you wish to give from the products chosen by the parents in a specific shop. Some people just give money to pay for large items such as pushchairs (strollers) etc.

Finished digging in the horse manure in the vegetable patch. Then a bike ride with my Border Collie (I am waiting on a hip operation). We go through a part I call the Danger Zone as there is a gigantic Pyrenean Mountain Dog usually tied up except today, she wasn't and she came bounding across the field like some gigantic pavlova - defending her territory, but my dog wants to take her on. Really scary. I just keep pedalling and encourage my dog to "walk on". Like NOT!!

School holidays are over and today being Monday, I am off to help school children with their english homework for an association/club down in the town. It's after school for an hour and a half. Not so bad. There's not a lot of pupils and they aren't terribly interested in getting help. But whatever!

Today's expression is probably pertinent for many of you thanks to @RowlandsCastle post.

Pluie le jour de Sainte Opportune, ni cerises ni prunes.

I do hope the cherries and plums have finished blossoming in your area.

May your day be happy and may all your camels spit dates!!

PS. Might I add that I think we have lost our Texan with his beautiful garden and lake! He must have had a shock when he logged on to GW to find it had disappeared!!

Also. Is there a thread to post our Wordle efforts on? I believe one was set up; but it didn't register the post completely.

Also @floralies How is your hip and knee?

              Hello all.

I went to bed over an hour early last night and slept for 10 hours, apart from a loo break at 4pm. I was knackered and a muscle in the right of my back was aching. Probably overdid the shovelling of bark compost on the shrub bed.

Think I'll give gardening a break today and tidy the house instead. I've been on the phone an WhatsApp with my 2 daughters for 2 hours so the day is disappearing rapidly.

Ricin is a really beautiful tender annual that I grow in my tropical border. I will search out a picture.

My neighbour grows quite a few ricin plants. Maybe she and her husband are going through 'a stage'..... Nice plants though - she's given me a couple in the past.

@Tui34 - I really miss the chatty Wordle thread we had on GW. I found the one started on this forum and had a go at posting but (as you said) the copied results just don't format properly. I even tried screenshotting the clipboard entry and trying to paste that - but it still didn't work. Just thought of something else to try - I'll come back.

We have the lists here too, the parents "register" at a certain site for their wishes so people know what is needed.

Morning all, Monday. little chilly here, 44 degrees. But sunny. my garden, when we returned exploded, so many things blooming. And new fresh leaves appearing everywhere. For now, just the task of picking up fallen branches, limbs etc. that dropped while away.
Began the planning for our late August trip to Nova Scotia. So far a 2-3 day stop over near Boston, Mass to see the town, and to see Salem, Mass. then a stop over in Bar Harbor, Maine for 2-4 days, then up to Nova Scotia for a full week there. On the way back home, will work on stopping places in other areas, just plotting it out, have not locked down with airbnb's yet. Yes, we will drive all the way, its fun, discovering unknown places along the way.
But first comes the car show trip and the end of July to the beginning of August, that trip all organized, will also be able to visit with a few cousins as we roam that area. Car show is in Kentucky, this particular car show gets 10Thousand cars at least, sometime 15Thousand, its unreal.
Ok, well on to other mundane tasks of the house etc. Well take care all.

In fact, we haven’t watched “Breaking Bad” for a couple of years so it’s due for a re-watch. Excellent, if a little dark. A brilliant story.

Love watching the Repair Shop, but it does not show on USA TV , I can get it on You Tube, but only past ones. Anyway, found this neat interview.
