    I never get high blood pressure. Thankfully!
    I'm generally laid back - kinda horizontal.
    But I do get angry occasionally. Then I consult the oracle - the one who knows everything!!
    My wife. :)

      Good morning all!

      Indeed @Ladybird4 Today is the feast day of Saint George and the beginning of the Cavaliers. Winds that last until the end of April (normally). The Cavaliers (or Horsemen) are the Saints George, Mark, Zita and Robert. Cold and unforgiving as they gallop across the sky!!

      The expression is: Quand il pleut le jour de Saint George, sur cent cerises, on a quatorze!

      Have a pleasant day folks!

        I spent yesterday recovering from a 2 hour stint on Sunday teaching a visitor to our club how to play croquet. We are running drop in sessions every Sunday for the public to come and have a go. I was shattered and ached all over. Obviously very out of condition. Must do more.
        I potted on my courgettes, cucumbers and pumpkins. Tomatoes next.

          Good morning all.
          A chilly 6c start today but not raining at the moment.
          The patio hasn’t dried out from yesterday’s deluge!!
          No gardening for me today, ground too wet, and it’s supermarket shop day.
          @redstar that’s quite an itinerary you’re planning.
          Totally agree with you re The Repair Shop.
          One of my ancestor’s carpenter workshop is on the site where they film the series.
          They found the workshop in the fifties and it was left as though the carpenter had just gone home for the night. So they transported it lock, stock and barrel to the site.
          Enjoy your day everyone :smile:

            Have been meaning to say for some time now @Tui34, a 'thank you' for all your French quotes. What I do want to know though, is how many cherries we get if it doesn't rain on St George's Day? :smile:

              @Brenda, as was probably guessed from my post the other day, The Repair Shop is one of my favourite programmes to watch, though I do get reduced to tears with some of the stories that go with the items. I find the skills of all the people who do those wonderful repairs absolutely awesome. It was interesting to read about your ancestor and his workshop.

                @Ladybird4 If it doesn't rain today then we get as many cherries as we can eat - if the birds haven't got there first!!!

                I'm glad you like my quotes.

                          What is the lovely red tree @PatE?

                          I think I will do some gardening today, need to finish the gazebo bed and weed the raspberries. Friends are coming to lunch on Wednesday, then the forecast is for rain until we leave for Norfolk on the 30th.

                          We are only going for 2 weeks this time, flying. It's because Son 2 and family will be coming to stay. They haven't seen our Norfolk cottage yet.

                            Morning all,

                            Yet another chilly, drizzly day. Drier than yesterday, though.
                            We had a lovely breakfast at the farm shop cafe yesterday - everyone was very pleased with their meal. I chose poached egg with smoked salmon on toast, and very tasty it was, too.
                            Afterwards, there was time for a wander around the farm shop and I bought some venison steaks, some mushroom relish and a bag of 6 seed bread flour. So, as anticipated, didn’t come away empty handed :yes:.
                            Today, breakfast was more “normal”, a bowl of porridge with banana :).

                            Too cold to do anything in the garden today, so I’ll content myself with indoor tasks. I was engrossed earlier watching a pair of blackbirds gathering all sorts of greenery and moss, etc, for the nest they are building in one of our hedges. They’ve been flying back and forth non stop gathering beaks full of material. I hope we’ll be rewarded in later weeks with seeing the fledglings in the garden begging to be fed. (At the moment there is a young Robin doing likewise).

                            A shame about the tree blossom @Ante1. I hope you’ll still get some fruit, though. Such crazy weather we’re having.

                            What a beautiful photo @PatE. Really stunning.

                              Hello and good afternoon.
                              I've been on a break to the lovely Northumberland coast for a few days, then catching up with tasks at home which has kept me busy. I hope you are all well and are enjoying the dry weather out in your gardens.
                              @PatE, what a beautiful photo!
