Really not been a day for gardening here. But, I have been working my way through the numbers on the key box. So far, no joy in finding the entry code, but I am 1/3 of my way through the possibilities. Another couple of weeks, and I'll either have cracked it, or realised that the only way in is through hammer, chisel and drill.
    But I'm persistent, and hopeful.

At least it wasn't raining all day, and my wife went to work, leaving me some quiet "snooze" time!!

Goodness gracious! WonkyWomble goes over that bridge almost every day! It’s just down the road from her … and my late brother farmed the land on one side.

The view from the bridge is so spectacular that it was constructed in such a way that most drivers can’t see over the sides as it was thought they would be distracted.

the benefit of being able to "Walk through it all helps". I have gone to some--where I will do the walk through and decide all it "junk", not worth the wait. But some where some valuable items for cheap will be offered. And sometime the crowd had no clue the good stuff, so you truly luck out. But sometime, you know some auction houses and antique shops are there to bid on items, and you'll be over bid. We furnished 90% of our airbnb with good stuff from Estate sales such as this type.
We have lucked out to get items that after research re-sold them for 400% of what we bought.

I have a vague memory that those key boxes all had the same “secret” code which would open them, 8888?

I'll admit that I haven't yet tried 8888, @steephill , although I did try 9999. I'll have a try later today. I guess I should have tried all the multi numbers first!! I'll let you know if it works!
I've already been passed the birthday of the previous owner, but don't know that of the owner before that.

                Good morning everyone
One of those days where l was making tea at 5.30, but the birdsong was lovely and now the sun is coming up across the roof tops.

                0000 ? 1234 ?
Have you set up a spreadsheet @RowlandsCastle ? That's what my OH would do .

I started at 0000, (but tried 9999 for good measure). I'm now in the 3000s - and yes, I've kept a note of how far I've got.

My wife thinks I'm crazy - said it would be easier just to go and buy a new one.
                    Not me!
I'm not wasting money. Time is something I have plenty of. Plus, it would be so satisfying to actually find the number.

I woke up to another rainy start but I'm picking Bestie up at 09:00 as we are on duty at the Food Bank today so I won't be fretting too much about not being able to get into the garden.

This is starting to get depressing, it is grey, foggy and 4C, I am not gardening in that.

@RowlandsCastle, I am guessing you have tried all the solutions shown on t'internet? I just had a casual glance a minute ago and there are almost as many suggestions as code possibilities.
Another thought that crossed my mind was perhaps contacting the manufacturer of said key safe - assuming it is visible - and asking them for the factory default number.
