@Tui34 OH bought me a Kindle back in 2013 when I was having both feet re-arranged. There are free books on there - mostly as interesting as daytime TV but also treasures such as Jane Austen - and you can buy books to download at a discount.

However, since we've moved here I've subscribed to the Kindle Unlimited service which is a small monthly fee for a wide range of books. You can download 10 at a time and then "return" when read and still buy books not on that list or that you wish to keep.

Tuesday, 8AM here. Just finished writing out a slue of checks for bills, yep, my job. I am not one of those believers in paying bills online.
          Still sipping coffee.
Yesterday was fresh painting our deck, another coat for protection ect. had on a favorite blue pair of shorts, thought I'd be careful, yeah right, but there you have it brown paint on my shorts. Soaking and scrubbing got out some. So now I have the bright idea, when they are dry, I am just going to color over the paint with dark blue marker pen---that will work. LOL.
Nice and chilly right now. 65 degrees. On to whatever in the garden and house etc.
          Have a good day all.

            Good afternoon everyone.

I’ve escaped from work early today as owed some time. Shame it’s Autumn outside or I would have a potter about, but I’ll potter here instead.

Happy Anniversary @Punkdoc, and Happy Birthday Mrs Punkdoc. Have a fab York trip and may the wine flow

Hummingbird Feeder hung out. We usually get 2 couples. And the honeysuckle vine on my deck railing is their treat, they love it also.

@redstar, my late mother got red stains on a favourite dress while making jam. The marks didn’t come out in the wash, but she loved the dress. She ended up borrowing felt tip pens from the grandchildren and embellishing each spot with surrounding petals and leaves to look like pretty flowers! The ink would wash out in the machine, so she would do a different style and colour scheme each time! Very inventive!
Do you embroider? I embroidered a ladybird over a hole in one of my tops.

Yes, I do embroider. Have seen that done, flowers to hide holes, for now, my only mending has to do with husbands garden work jeans, patches and any other creativeness .

Evening all. Well I got all my tasks completed in town and I'm glad I got them all done on the one day as the supposed improvement in today's modern banking - where they cannot do anything for you unless you have the blessed App on your phone - annoyed me intensely. I do have the App on my phone but I wanted to check on something and the surly, bored, wet behind the ears child who was dealing with me only succeeded in making my canines elongate. Heaven help those who don't use t'internet or have the 'App'! Sorry, rant over.
I had a call from my friend who has the field filled with heritage fruit trees rescued from many old orchards. He said that the trees are starting to look rather fine so on Thursday - as Bestie is on holiday and it isn't a Food Bank day - I am going to have a trip up to see him and the chap who works on this project with him.

Morning all. Awake early because I worry about how we are going to deal with British Gas, following what I consider sub standard treatment of our property during the boiler installation.

I know we still have a house, but I really had expected the workmen to do what they could to keep things safe. Yes, accidents happen, but I had expected them to check for damage when they occurred, plus inform us and apologise - then make good, or at least arrange for repair.

                          Shame on them!!
