Oh dear @steephill, you are going to be on the south in Dalmatia, @Topbird will be on the north in Istria, and I'm in the middle. You will enjoy I bet, if you have time, you may visit Starogradsko polje. It's piece of fertile land, divided by ancient Greeks with stone walls, and it's still standing and in use.

 

@Topbird It might have been on the having a moan thread that RowlandsCastle wrote about the damage that BG did. It was quite a long list.

We are back, had a lovely time in York, doing touristy things. I think we had the best two days weather this year which was great and spookily like the day of our wedding 30 years ago.

One of my jobs was to negotiate claims - but larger ones. In the tens of thousands of pounds, and more. Plus it was with someone else's money, not my own. It was also on large cargo ships, not my own home.

I will push. Hard. But I've a wife to consider, who doesn't want hassle, but does want a bath!!

Hello there @RowlandsCastle. Whatever action you finally decide upon, I hope that it brings closure to what has been a nightmare.

 

I was saddened to hear this morning about the passing of Duane Eddy. Whilst not exactly my most favourite of musicians, my brothers adored him and played 'air guitar' before we had even known there was a name for that activity!

It’s been a glorious sunny start to the day here in Norfolk, but the sky is clouding over a bit now … nevertheless temperatures are in double figures!
Glad you had a lovely time @Punkdoc Best of luck @RowlandsCastle … I must say that when we had a nasty underfloor leak a couple of years ago BG were very straightforward to deal with and their workmen were utterly professional and we were impressed. However there’s always the exception. Fingers crossed you can get a positive outcome without too much hassle.
Did they use BG employees or subcontractors?

Rather grey here, but warm, and it is noticeable how much things have grown in only 2 days of warm weather, whilst we were away.

There was some really high quality busking in York, it was lovely to turn a corner, hear some great music, find somewhere to perch and listen for a while.

We will be voting today, I am seriously hoping that this year is going to bring some major changes.

Morning all.

I think there is a problem with the heating. I noticed the bathroom radiator was on in the night when it should have been off. The upstairs study and the landing radiators were on too but the downstairs ones were off. It was on a timer so I turned it off completely. Didn't make any difference. The bedroom rads were turned off individually. Bother.

Today I expect I will be weeding out the 100s of baby sycamores in the garden from seeds from neighbours huge tree.

A pushchair should be delivered for 2 yr old grandson for when son and family arrive next week. They can't manage 5 young children, all the luggage and a pushchair as they will be flying.

 

Ooops @Busy-Lizzie. That is going to be a pain for you - especially as you have your family arriving. Is the pushchair just hired for the visit?
