@Anna42 it was lovely to read your exciting news about the new little person who has joined your family. Congratulations to all!
@Bluejayway and @pattie I have to hold my hands up as another one who has forgotten about the cosmos seed sowing.
@Topbird, sorry to read that you are suffering with a cold especially with your holiday departure so close. Hope you bounce back by Tuesday. BTW apropos Hayloft, they have one day left to reply to me (from their promised 'we'll get back to you in 7 days'). I am not best impressed and if I don't hear by tomorrow I will be requesting a refund.
@Blue arbour it has just started to rain here. Hope we all have a lovely long weekend to get garden jobs done.
@Ergates, I have only had the very best of deliveries from Evri. Their earlier manifestation, Hermes, were dreadful.

 

@Topbird , pop some Zinc tabs and Vit. C. that should shorten your cold. Works for me.

 

I must give a 'shout out' in favour of Timpsons. Late last week I'd ordered a small brass memorial plaque in memory of my late brother. It arrived on Monday which was very quick but unfortunately they'd spelt my late mother's name incorrectly. Emailed them straight back, had a profuse apology the next morning and a promise to resend a correct plaque straight away which arrived at lunchtime. Most impressed.

It actually got a bit warmer by lunchtime today so I tackled the job of emptying one of the Dalek compost bins. Despite all our best efforts to keep them out, the compost still had roots from the nearby tree/bushes in the base - think I'll have to cement in paving slabs for a base and stand them on that, not ideal I know but there's nowhere else to site them unfortunately. I was a little perturbed to dig out about 3 or 4 leg bones which looked like rat bones but I never found the skull! I'd inadvertently made a lovely dry, warm and insulated home for them in between the 3 bins we have so will have to rethink the layout. My idea of using old pillows in bin bags and tying them round the compost bins to keep the heat in worked well though and there were red compost worms throughout the winter.

Peter Beales didn't have any alstroemerias but they did have a solanum. I wanted a Prince Charles clematis too but they didn't have it, not many clematis, they used to have loads.

It has rained all day.

My hair has been cut and looks much better.
