I've decided to skip the SM and head to the new flat to continue cleaning it.

I'm currently dealing with cellulitis caused by a scratch from a radiator there...

Saturday. 9:40 AM. Suppose to rain soon. Chilly 53 degrees now.
Just lined up--yet another trip we will be taking in early part of July. Going down to watch nephew and friends race in a Jet Ski competition. July and August and September going to be very busy. Have to enjoy the calmness of May and June.
Need to also clothes shop, I like to wait till July for summer sales, Maybe late June can find them starting.
Ok, that's it. off to clean or garden or something equally special. LOL.

@Topbird, I remembe:sick0026:r making a pilgrimage to Rutland and Barnsdale shortly after Geoff Hamilton passed away. He was such a favourite of mine too. For a while they had left his spade embedded in the garden and my friend took a photo - which I have somewhere - of me posed as if using it to dig. We also went to the little churchyard to pay homage at his grave and planted alongside it was a specimen of his favourite tree - a Katsura, which is why I have planted that one in my garden. I planted it when my Dad passed away so its sort of his tree as well. I cannot believe how big it has grown but I sorely missed Geoff Hamilton on the TV. I enjoyed Sarah Raven's 'spot' on GW too.
p.s. hope you are beginning to feel a little better! :sick0026:

@Cheyngel, that sounds like a better idea to me  p.s. Sorry to hear about the cellulitis! Take care.
Goodness me @redstar, you really are going to be busy gadding about this year. A Jet Ski competition sounds fun! Good look with the clothes shopping. That is one task that is on a level with housework in my book!

Hack hack cough cough splutter splutter - but I probably feel a little better than yesterday thanks LB. Felt really, really rough by the evening. Will be glad to get rid of this awful headache - nearly time for more Parrots ate 'em all thank goodness.

OH has been a star today. Jet washed the garden bench and table without being reminded, has made several mugs of tea, offered to do lunch and is doing dinner. Shame I don't have much of an appetite.

LB - Barnsdale is one of my favourite gardens to visit. Interesting, good planting and familiar all at the same time. Haven't been for a couple of years - must add it to the list.

@redstar - you are going to be busy this summer. Do you have anybody look after the house or garden when you're away? Like LB, I also get little pleasure from clothes shopping. If I find a jumper, shoes, trousers etc that I like and fit well, I often buy several in different colours. Then that item's ticked off the list for another few years. Nobody seems to notice or care.

@Topbird For the garden itself, it takes care of itself with rain from mother nature. I am going to have much less colorful pots of flowers than last year. But what I usually do is have plastic gallon containers full of water that will set next to the potted annuals, and my neighbor will come by (if is has not rained) and pour some water in the pots. So far I am only going to have about 4 pots about for decorations. The house has a security system, and my neighbors know when we are gone, and how long. It was harder when we had outdoor cats, but they are now in heaven.

@Ladybird4 Yep, since retirement I have heaved out 14 bags of "management" clothes, you know suites/blouses etc. Took to a re-sale store. I always have a working bag nest my closet for more to fill it with, and more to go. Aim is small amount of quality comfortable fun clothes. Going to car shows, the fashion is jeans and a T-shirt, LOL, but I like fun T-shirts --who doesnt discovered I can get some interesting ones in Art Museums gift shops.

Evening everybody, gosh you have all been busy! I have to say that it's been a beautiful day here for a change so lots of gardening after my usual walk this morning. I've emptied and sieved two compost bins and put one unwanted one (did have 3) outside with a 'free to a good home' notice on it. Sieved compost has been put on the veg beds and I have filled one small sack of it to mix with the peat free compost to make a better mix.
Gasping for a glass of cold wine now!
                Welcome @Cheyngel .
Hope you get better soon @Topbird, the headache doesn't sound good - covid?
Enjoy the rest of the weekend folks.

Good evening all. It was a nice day after all. Morning was a bit cloudy, but later was sunny and warm. After school I had a nice and long walk with Max. I also gathered sage flowers, and tomorrow will show you what I'm going to do with them. Now is time for my cup of tea and Poirot is on tv. I can watch him over and over.

Few photos from today's walk. At this time in year all hills are purple because sage is in flower.

Poirot was a great series. I was always amused when he had the parrot delivered -
                      "Got a parrot for a Mr Poy-rot"
                      "It's pronounced 'Poirot!"
"Ok, I have a poirot for a Mr Poy-rot" :heehee:

Hello all. Lovely photos @Ante1 such a beautiful part of the world you live in.
Walk in the local woods with my sister this morning full of bluebells and wild garlic, sun was shining and the birds were singing very peaceful and only a few minutes from home.
A day in the garden, warm and sunny and my tortoise Graham was stomping around only stopping to feast on cucumber and melon he was very happy.
Nanny duty tonight for my youngest grandson Thomas. Been a wonderful day.

Unwinding with a stiff malt after a difficult day. We attended a celebration of life or wake for OH's sister today. She did a Bowie (unattended cremation) a couple of weeks ago so this was a chance to remember her together with people from different sides of her life who had never met before. The event went as well as you could hope for in the circumstances, I think it was far less stressful than a traditional funeral.
