    Good day
I've already had a busy morning. It is still below freezing but I brought the little trees inside anyway. I'll let them thaw, dry and then cover and stash them. Well, one needs a wire fixed. The wires are thin as hairs and break by looking at them so one now needs soldering. I'll do that bit before stashing. I pulled in the rest of the outdoor decorations too so I'm pretty much back to "normal".

I'm going to adjust the back band of the bra I mostly finished so as to accommodate using hooks and eyes I've got on hand. It isn't the best I could do but this is really just a trysie to see if this size fits well after all these years and if not, what adjustments to make before starting to get fussy with my sewing.;)

@Upsydaisy which reader/software do you and your library use please? I am having a dreadful time with my Kobo/Rakuten set up and it is the only one my library uses!

Emily and I will go out grocery shopping too. We are out of fruit. I've never seen someone eat so much fruit and it makes me glad because it has to be good for her. :)

    Cheers all :coffee:

      Good morning. :)

Phew what a day we had yesterday .... not a cobweb to be found anywhere!!

Going outside as soon as it gets light enough to see if any damage has been done by the winds yesterday.:fingers crossed:

Today is going to be a lot better but the temps. are beginning to tumble. We can't have it both ways...wet and mild or cold and bright.:dunno:

Lori our Library uses Borrow Box but has in the past used Over Drive and Libby.
I like Borrow Box best as I can access E books, Audio Books and ePress ( magazines) all on the same reader, where as before I had to log onto a different one for magazines.

Can't visit my brother at the moment as there are 6 confirmed cases of the new Covid variant at his assisted living place. They've closed the restaurant too so as to stop residents from mixing.

Just hoping my brother is coping Ok as he's become very confused/ muddled lately and might become distressed at not having familiar family faces around him. Very worried indeed.

Hope to go for another nice walk today as we couldn't go yesterday because of the gusting winds. I need to clear my head. I feel penned in when it's too bad to go outside.

      Wishing everyone a nice day.

Morning all. Haven't thought about a theme but these cuties appeared on my Facebook feed. I love Gingers.

Oh dear Upsy, just what you don't need is more worry over R!!!

It seems all Europe is having more than their fair share of rain and here we are with none. Central and the North are having it but it goes around us down here ... but may have some tonight/tomorrow but none forecast the rest of January.

Hope the day goes well for all.

          Morning Vicky .

Fabulous pic, what a cute looking litter and Mum is very pretty too.:)

No I don't really, my head feels like it's going to burst!!

Just need to get outside...things seem better when I'm out in the fresh air..might do the walk into town for some bits of groceries that we're running low on .I will see if hubs wants to come, then he could bring home the shopping via the bus and I could then also walk back, a round trip of about 5 miles.

              Good day
It is right on the freezing mark and again, no stars or moon in sight so a thick layer of clouds is up there. I am getting quite tired of these cloudy days. I don't think we've had a sunny one since before Christmas!

@Upsydaisy what type of reader do you have? I have a kindle which is which is amazon/overdrive/libby and works marvelously but our library does not use. My kobo reader which is rakuten/cloud library is a real pain. I constantly download books, and then later when I go to read them, they are not there!

I like ginger cats too @Victoria. My last one looked just like "Morris" from the old 9 Lives cat food commercials. I miss my moggies and doggies but as you know, allergies proclude that from happening again.

I've decided to do an inventory of what supplies I have on hand before ordering new because the cart is starting to look quite expensive. I'll get to that right now.

Have a great day and cheers all :coffee:

Lori I can read them on both my Amazon Fire Tablets , my phone ( Samsung Galaxy) and if I want to ( but I never do ) on my laptop too. Never had any issues . Sorry I've never heard of the other names you've mentioned. As I said our library now uses Borrow Box and I find it brilliant.

Sorry to hear you're weather isn't too good ,after all our winds and torrential rain we are enjoying a lovely sunny day today..

Enjoy your day, despite the weather..

Afternoon folks, yep its 12:41 PM for me here on a sunny Wednesday.
Got up late 8AM. Hey I am retired. Yeah.
Anyways spent part of a frustrating morning looking for a certain credit card, tore apart everything, found the thing stuck behind another card that had that glue stuff on it. Crazy.
Well at least my purses got cleaned out. You know the travel purse then the purse at home purse. But I still have even smaller ones if we are touring/walking etc.

@Upsydaisy --sad the assisted living is closed, looks like "someone" brought it in.

@CanadianLori , you make your own bra's. neat. I barely ware any. maybe once a month I'll put one on, so mine just last and lasts, I like just camisoles. But some outfits do look better with an actual bra.

There was a nice white frost on the hardy geraniums this morning, should have tried for a quick shot. Maybe leaf removal later, we shall see how the weather turns, and if dries out. In the meantime laundry and paperwork begins for taxes, end of the year to close it off.

                Have a grand day all.

Yes it's very unfortunate redstar, but to be expected I suppose. Residents having visitors or even maybe going to stay with family for Christmas.

It's on the increase here and will probably increase even more now as everyone resumes normal life....back to work, school ,college and Uni.

                    Good morning.

Super day , weatherwise, yesterday with beautiful sunshine for the best part of it.

The walk into town really lifted my spirits as I spotted many flowers budding up in readiness to burst into bloom.:)
We also spotted a lot of branches and fence panels brought down by the winds on Tuesday too.

Hubs made a start on fixing some of the damage here caused by the wind and will continue this morning before the next lot of rain arrives later.
We had planned on going into Southampton for bite to eat but not sure if we'll have time now..if not we may go on Friday.

Hope your day is a good one.:)

                      Morning all.

We had a drizzle of rain yesterday which the garden lapped up. Van came in for dinner drenched but Munch had sensibly stayed in. They get their monthly Frontline today.

J has Dentist today to see about new plate and possibly to have a tooth out. I guess this afternoon will be a write off ... negative I know but reality.

                        Morning Vicky.:)

Glad to hear that you finally got some much needed rain that was greatly appreciated by your garden no doubt , but obviously still a way to go to benefit the overall water supply in your area.

Wishing J all the best and hope everything goes well at the Dentist today.

As I still hadn't heard back on my results from my recent bone density check up back at the beginning of November, I decided to check through the 3 different apps I have on my health history/ records....not that they are actively used by my Gp, NHS or SGH much at all...they are a bit of a joke really.
Lo and behold..on my GP one there they were...Xrays as well. It was so hard to read as the pages couldn't be expanded and the text was miniscule...we had to get a magnifying glass out to read it.

They have recorded significant changes to my lower spine and to an area on both my hips.....as they had spotted last time. The T score on these areas have obviously been increased. Out of the 5 areas scanned 3 now show Osteoporosis.

I will now try to work on upping my calcium levels slightly...and very warily, as I don't like the effect it has on me .It also plays on my mind because of the surgery I had to have on my jaw due to excessive calcium build up. So I see to be caught in the middle!!:noidea:

Right I'd better go and give hubs a hand as he's been out in the garden since just after 8 , stiil having issues with the covering on our caravan...it was only a year old too. If the wind could topple our old tall freezer then I suppose the caravan cover was easy prey!!

Have a lovely day, what are you crocheting at the moment??
If we don't make it to town this afternoon, more heavy rain is expected, then I may attempt the new jigsaw puzzle.
                        :grphg:xx

                          Good day
It is 22f -5c and quite windy out there and the reason I know that is because I'm not only coming here later than usual, it is actually NOT cloudy and things are clear :)

@Upsydaisy for heavens sake, get thee back to your doctor! I had the start of osteoporosis in my hips 8 years ago and my doctor has been giving me a Prolia shot every six months. I went back to only "pre-osteoporosis" and have stayed at this stage for 8 years now. It is a subcutaneous shot so I just get him to do it in my belly rather than my arm so that nothing I actually use ever gets sore ;) Please talk to him about Prolia!

@Victoria I hope your dreary days end soon. We went through weeks of cloud after cloud and this sunshine just makes me feel light! I saw your comment to @pete about his new chair and yes, he deserves a comfortable spot. I met him at @shiney 5 years ago and he is a solid good guy.

I've got some errands to get done so I think I'll get my behind in gear here!

                          Cheers :coffee:

                            Afternoon all.

OK, Osteoporosis--subject. @Upsydaisy and @CanadianLori , Just wondering what was the "start of the osteoporosis" that you needed Prolia? Anyway, about 20 years ago I got my first DexScan for osteoporosis ---being familiar with reading labwork, it showed I was POINT 001 off the norm. The PCP decided I should start on Fosomax, I told him no way will I take that. I just started myself on more Vit D. and some calcium. Then about 10 years ago, with another doctor I had another DexScan, and guess what---all was perfect---labs good, according to the new doctor I was good for the next 30 years. What I am saying is if your just a little off the norm you do not need a sledge hammer to fix it, that is to me what Foxomax is, too many side effects with medications. Anyway, the first DR. is no more, he did other things I did not like/agree with. Moved on.

Anyway, got busy this morning. but I am here. getting gloomy outside now, its almost 2PM. been on a few errands, going out again to food store for a little milk etc. Take care all.

@redstar come now. You must think I am an idiot who should be following your advice rather than my doctor's. I am not amused!

I do not take any meds light-heartedly. I got a detailed report about my first scan and then we did a second scan to be sure about the gravity of the situation before starting anything. Fosomax was what was still "popular" in the U.S. 8 years ago however, we discussed the bad reviews regarding side effects and instead went to Prolia. It has proven that my doctor is right. :paladin:
