Morning all. Managed to get some sleep last night so feeling much better today.

It's a lovely sunny morning so will cut the grass once the dew has dried and then I need to move my seed trays to their holiday spots and cross fingers they're ok. Nicotiana sylvestris have finally germinated (such teeny tiny seedlings) but nothing showing from the aquilegia or coriander yet. Think that's because it was so cold in the first 10 days after sowing.

Bag is packed and ready to go so today is about lots of little loose end jobs. We'll have to leave here at 3am tomorrow. As a late sleeper it's going to be one of those 'is it really worth going to bed' debates.

Good to see you @Star gaze Lily. How are the poppets?

LB my dress and milk arrived safely. The dress has a stirred bodice and long sleeves and fits well. I do like apple mint and mint sauce. Cooler today. Made some tea and looking at plants on tv shopping.

          Morning everyone.

Just had a read back. I’m sure others on here will agree that sometimes we need to share sad or upsetting stuff as well as the things to celebrate or that bring joy. Mostly we chat about the mundane and ordinary, but there’s a feeling of fellowship and belonging to it. That’s the magic of this forum, and particularly this thread, we are all sharing life’s ups and downs. We all have them so there is empathy, or just distraction, to be found here.

I wangled today off so it’s ‘Sunday 2’ for me! Not sure how long it will stay dry for so just having some cuppas outside whist I can.

Have a good day all - I hope everyone has something positive or something to make them smile today :spinning:

We had a bit of sun first thing. I went for a walk, but did the last half mile in the rain. It was my wife's turn to laugh, when I arrived home rather wet!!:roflol:

Thank you @Golarne. That seems to be what us called a forum here which is full of individual threads. Each garden visit is on a separate thread. I was really looking for a general garden visit thread where people post photos of where they've been.

                Good afternoon everyone!

Dismal weather here and the temperature has dropped only to go up Thursday to some pretty warm weather!! We had some rain in the night but nothing now. Windy though.

My tomatoes are out in a sheltered spot hardening off but yesterday, I planted about 6 tomato plants that had sprung up in the garden and various pots. They're looking perky today.

A rest this afternoon and then I have Aide aux Devoirs at 4.30pm for an association that offers help to school children with their homework.

Today: S'il pleut à la petite Saint Jean, toute l'année s'en ressent; jusqu'à la grand Saint Jean.
                (which is the 24th June).

                Enjoy your day folks.

It would appear that such a thread doesn't exist. I was looking for one too, @Busy-Lizzie

Perhaps you would like to start one. I'm still deciding which of my photos of Goodnestone Park Gardens, to upload. So while this slow individual ponders, do commence.
Just, please let me know where you put it, because I still cannot fathom the logic here in some cases.

Monday morning. Rained last night. Garden hosta's in the sun showing sparkly rain drops on them, wish my camera was good enough to catch those sparkles. Perhaps later today to tend to some areas in the garden. But mostly inside stuff and food shopping. Nice to see you @Star gaze Lily , thanks for the compliment. I will leave you all with the view of my garden from my kitchen window. spring kitchen view.jpg

Wow, what a view, @redstar! Well done on those of you getting your plants and veg organised.
That doesn’t count as a rant, @Badly_Maintained! And we are allowed a rant on here anyway. Good to let us know how you are feeling, so we can offer (virtual) tea and (real) sympathy. Everyone on here is so kind, and it’s good to have an outlet for worries and hurt feelings, when we don’t want to burden our friends and family yet again, but need to let it all out.
@Topbird, maybe you should indulge in a nap this afternoon, if you can get ahead of the packing and prep. Might take some of the pressure off trying to get enough sleep tonight when you have such an early start?
Haven’t done much fun stuff here this weekend. We are off on our weeks cruise in a little over a week, so I am trying to get as much prep done as possible in advance, so I can hopefully avoid any last minute dramas. OH just rolls his eyes, as I furtively confiscate any clothing items he might want to take. Don’t want the usual day-before announcements that he is planning to take a particular jumper which I know is either screwed up in the laundry basket, or on him, with ketchup down the front! ( That isn’t a regular occurrence, it only actually happens when it’s most inconvenient!)
Just watching a beautiful bullfinch on the bird feeder.

Beautiful garden @redstar - a lovely view from your kitchen.

@Ergates - where does your cruise start / end and where are you visiting in Norway? Look forward to seeing some pics and reading of your travels. My OH is given a cut-off day for holiday washing and, if he doesn't comply, he has to sort it out himself. Tough love rules in our house!

                          Good afternoon,
You have a beautiful view from your kitchen window @redstar. It looks very pretty.
I’ve been in the garden this afternoon, doing a bit more sorting - the spring pots that are finished have gone in the small greenhouse and I’ve moved some others to be where they were. The green bin is now full, so the grass, which needs cutting, will have to wait until after the bin has been emptied tomorrow.
It has been another fine and warm day, though overcast this afternoon. We might get some rain, but on the other hand, we might miss it today.

A better day than the forecast in the end, so I’ve done some potterings and fiddlings outside.

As it’s ‘Sunday 2’ today, I’ll be starting my Sunday evening routine soon - dinner, hair wash and uniform ironing. Just one more cuppa outside first…

Thank you, @Badly_Maintained, the beef was delicious. I would have that cut again. It just about fell off the bone. I’ve minced up the left over meat and made a cottage pie which will go in the freezer when it’s cooled a bit more. The plan is to take it with us when we go away to a self catering cottage so that we have a meal for the evening we get there. It should defrost nicely en route.
Glad to hear you are feeling a bit happier today. I think it helps, sometimes, to offload our troubles to our friendly forum members.
I hope that you, too, @Star gaze Lily soon feel better.

Thanks all for your comments re- kitchen window view. Yes, its enjoyable. And right now the lilac shrubs way to the left are in full bloom, the smell is awesome.

As far as outside pots of flowers, I wait until May 15th to get into that, it can frost up to May 13th or our Mother's Day. I don't need the stress of taking posts in.
