I have been working in my garden and greenhouse today. I took three of my tomato plants across the road to Jack - my ex cat sitter. He is a very young 93 years old, a bit frail naturally but a character nonetheless. He was pleased with the tomatoes and has already got his little greenhouse ready for them.
Whilst working in the GH, I lifted one pot out of another and a baby mouse leapt out at me - except it wasn't a baby mouse but a ginormous spider - even bigger than one I discovered last week. I'm not particularly worried by spiders but this one did give me a little frisson by its sudden movement. As long as I know where it is it can carry on the good work.
@Blue arbour, my green bin is due for emptying on Thursday and it is just about full now. I love it when I can start refilling it again.
@Topbird, try and get a little sleep tonight if you can and if I don't catch you later, have a fabulous time and I'm looking forward to Travels with T'Bird once more.

Evening everybody, warmer than I expected today so that was good news. I did my usual morning walk (without a jacket!) then carried on with my revamped compost bin area. Emptied out the current bin - so many worms! Hope they don't all abandon ship overnight, almost ran out of containers. Abandoned the idea of taking up all the Terram and trying to make the area flatter as being too much like hard work so went for the easy option and spread some gravel in the dips. That's the plan. Got drenched in a sudden heavy rainshower about 4 ish so decided to stop there as back/hips/shoulders were aching. Took some paras and went to bed for a quick snooze so feel better now. Just waiting for dinner to cook, a ready made Mariners pie.
@Topbird, enjoy your cruise, hope you get at least a couple of hours sleep tonight.
@Star gaze Lily, great to hear from you, hope your mood is lifting.
@Busy-Lizzie, pity you don't live nearer, I've got spare duvets stashed everywhere! I'd be going into complete panic mode right now, glad I don't have to cope with that many visitors.

@lizzie27 - I'm not going on a cruise - bit of a flying visit to @Ante1's neck of the woods (Croatia)

@Ergates is cruising to / around Norway. Beautiful country - I'm quite envious. Have been but I'd go again in a heartbeat. The only thing I really hate in Norway is the 'health tax' on alcohol. £10 for a pint of beer when we were last there in 2019 - yikes! No idea how they got through Covid without alcohol. Not that I have a problem you understand

Love it, and the open hill behind it all. The woods behind mine, is totally woods, but its 10 acres of protected lands.

 

your grass is much better, I have lots of shade, even with shade grass seeds its challenging. so we do what we can do.
