Early on in my marriage, husband tried to get me to buy his clothes, got out of that right away.

Wishing Laurent a speedy and complete recovery, @Dordogne Damsel, a worry for you all but sounds as if he is being well looked after.
Disappointing that you aren’t seeing an improvement in the frequency of seizures, @RowlandsCastle, keep off those ladders!
@Punkdoc, I’d like to say that my OH has bowed to my superior fashion sense, but that wouldn’t be true! He absolutely hates shopping, so is very happy for me to do all the donkey work. I’m happy to do that , as I do enjoy clothes shopping, and also, as the main washing machine wrangler, would prefer to steer him away from stuff that needs too much high maintenance, eg creasing easily, or needing ironing. ( If it’s a choice between ironing it himself, or wearing it creased, he’d happily wear it creased. I like cottons that can go straight onto a hanger and dry ready enough to wear)
He does have definite likes and dislikes, so when he finds something that meets his approval, I tend to buy duplicates, sometimes in different colours, otherwise he’d probably wear them till they fall apart. So it’s not as controlling as it may have sounded! I’m more like a personal shopper! He was glad he did the shoe shopping trip though, needed a bigger size than he would have bought on line, and saw some styles that he might not have otherwise considered.
A lovely afternoon here, I’ve been struggling between going out and doing some weeding, or sitting on the patio with a cup of tea and admiring the rhododendrons. I shall go and pour myself another cup.

        Good afternoon,

It’s a lovely, warm day today. I’ve got quite a lot done in the garden again, potting on various plants and cutting back dead growth on others. Also emptied some pots of plants that didn’t over winter in the garage. I’d hoped they would, but alas, no.

Had coffee sat out in the garden this morning, and might just do the same with the afternoon coffee in a bit.

Sorry to hear about Laurent @Dordogne Damsel, but glad that he’s now been moved out of intensive care. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

How is Hostafan @Dovefromabove? Perhaps he might come over and join us here one day?

        Love the cartoon @Badly_Maintained :).

Raining overnight. 74 degrees on a Wednesday.
Took bed quilt to Laundromat--King size bed. washing mattress cover, and ect now in my washer. Have to run back up soon and put quilt in their dryer--works better for large like that.

anyway food shopping again later at another place that has stuff my usual place does not have, today for them is senior discount day and also bag discount day. I get 5% off entire bill as a senior and 3 cents off bill for my bags I bring, cloth bags.

Yes, @Ergates , car maintenance a real joy, have a nice garage 2 miles from me.
Just as an FYI, in the USA, each state gets to sent a standard for cars, my state, mandates yearly car inspections and yearly registration of your car, of course costing money. I have a cousin who lived in Washington State and now she lives in Tennessee--both states no car inspection mandates. Fun.

And back to clothes shopping for husband, I also started out right by never ironing his white shirts, all went to the tailor to wash and iron, so just picked them up.
But, again, I did work outside the house 60 hours a week.

          Have a good day all.

            @Ergates
I must admit that I was tempted to go up the ladder to clear moss that has come off the main roof, onto the conservatory roof. But, with no-one else about, I opted for other things to do.
I walked to our local GC before lunch, and came back with a blackcurrant bush. That has been duly soaked, and planted out. Here's hoping it produces something next year.
Potted up another five chrysanthemum plants, a couple of inches tall. I now have 10 growing nicely from one pot we brought with us. Another couple of years they should be doing well. The only difficult decision will be where to put them.

My Camassias are definitely passed their best but I did find a few still looking not too bad.

This year I have planted some white Camassias so that next Spring I'll have both alongside one another.

Evening all, good wishes to @D0rdogne Damsel and a good recovery for Laurent, worrying times for you both.

Not done much today as my back was complaining loudly this morning after 3 days solid work, although I did give in after lunch and planted 3 of my new strawberries in the trough I resurrected recently. They already have flowers so I'm hopeful of a crop soon, I have netted them to keep the birds/squirrels away. The remaining 3 I've left in the greenhouse so see which location produces the most fruit.

Hope your car is back duly updated @Dovefromabove. Have I missed a post about your son now being able to move out?
@Ergates, my OH hates shopping for clothes as well and I swear he's colourblind as he puts some weird combinations together without thinking. I try to be tactful but sometimes I just say 'no way'! I often buy him clothes as presents.
@Ladybird4 - the connection between dishwasher and DIL arriving is that I often leave the dirty dinner dishes until later but thought the kitchen would look tidier if I did it before she arrived!
We only had time for a quick chat and catch-up with family news before we went to bed and she leaves for work before we get up in the morning.
Very wise @RowlandsCastle, I don't go up ladders either if I'm on my own. Frustrating but sensible. Hopefully your recent operation will gradually improve your prospects - I think you were very brave.

                          Good morning all :coffee1:
10C here in Norfolk … slightly overcast but clearing. I got a very early night yesterday and now I’m up and dressed and ready to go, or will be when I’ve had a couple of mugs of coffee … then I’ll take the car to the garage for its cam belt … wonder what sort of car they’ll loan me for the day …
While I’m gone OH is going to start on putting up the bean poles …
@lizzie27 my son now has a (gas free) touring caravan he keeps at work that he can use for some overnights and also when he’s stage managing etc at festivals. It gives him a bit of independence and means he doesn’t have to commute an hour and a half each way every day. It’s impossible for a single person to afford to rent accommodation in that part of Suffolk. Totally crazy prices.
                          Hurrah! Coffee has arrived …

A very good morning @Dovefromabove and all dropping by later. Bestie is still away so I am going to meet another of my friends today - the lady who wanted some apple mint cuttings. It just so happens that the route to her home goes passed my favourite nursery - I can feel a detour coming on!
