Good morning all. Just got into trouble because I had set my alarm for 5:20am, because OH is starting a new job today. Into trouble, because the alarm didn't go off, only woke at 5:30am!!
I don't understand why! Set my mobile phone correctly - time set, sound on, etc. Wife in a hurry now.
****** technology. I should have relied on a REAL alarm clock.
She'll make it though.

Bright sunshine, blue sky 12C and rising … and my runner beans look happy in their new home. I’ve snuck down and made a coffee … OH is still sound asleep. His mum should be arriving at the hospital about now for her op … we’ll be with her tomorrow lunchtime, taking over from OHs sister. We spoke to her yesterday evening and she was in good spirits.

I hope her first day goes well for your wife and that her new job is all that she hopes it will be.

Thank you @Ladybird4 … she’s a sensible northern lass and very independent, having been sadly widowed in her late 50s … she has a great group of active friends … she is a member of the U3a and plays several times a week in a Ukelele orchestra, but she is now well into her 80s and of course so are her friends, so it really is time to let her know that she really can rely on us when she needs to.

 

Good morning all. Nanny duty this morning then work later but then I have another long weekend as I booked Monday as a lieu day and I have Tuesdays off. Fiancé’s birthday tomorrow he wants a nice lunch and a quiet day so lots of sitting in the garden is planned.

Morning @Debs64. It seems as though you have a super long weekend to look forward to. I heard a slight hint on the weather forecast for my area that there is a possiblity of thunderstorms on Sunday - deep joy!

Busy Busy Busy everyone seems to be. @PatE Good luck with your driving practice. Your driving is probably all right, it's the reflexes that go as we get older. Amazing to read your post @Dordogne Damsel - what a fright you both must have had - so early on in the relationship. I wish Laurent a speedy recovery. You sound as if you are constantly in the dog house @RowlandsCastle but anyway, I hope your wife's first day is going along nicely! Enjoy your long family weekend @Debs64 Hope the weather holds. And you too @Dovefromabove with MIL's operation. A speedy and safe recovery. Loved the photos @Busy-Lizzie Not too tired yet? With extra people in the house, it's seems to be a constant stream of cooking and tidying up. I trust they are enjoying England. Do your grandchildren speak english?

Off to the markets in a minute but a bike/run for the dog first as it is warming up here and after 10am it will be too hot for a running Border Collie!!

Admittedly, some is deserved. My wife puts up with so much. I'm a practical joker. Some is NOT deserved, in my opinion. Some, like today, is just unfortunate. But I understand how she was keen to arrive on time, and unflustered.
I'll hear about it this evening.

Suffering from my COVID jab yesterday, so a nice easy day today.

 

You, of all people here @Punkdoc should know what's best for you.

 

OH had an off day after his spring booster in April. Previous jabs only resulted in a very slightly sore arm. Hope you have some good weather there, and you can sit and relax.
