    Morning Upsy and all.

Hope you get something sorted on the Dentist front Upsy ... I thought you were satisfied with your current one.

Just another Friday here with J meeting the boys for lunch and me pottering.

I made the sausage/onion and corned beef/onion pies yesterday and had the sausage for dinner last night. It was very tasty as I put a fair amount of sage and thyme in it.

Lori, last night I found the blood splatter went the opposite direction to originally thought!!!

      Morning Vicky,

We were up to a point but all the old staff from ours have left , including our lovely dentist who had been there for a long time, they moved into town and are so big and 'posh' and make it clear that they prefer doing cosmetic procedures now. They have joined forces with a group of other surgeries and to be honest they aren't offering the procedures that ordinary folk round here want. Once you're in the chair they put on the hard sell and try and sign you up for whitening, straightening,....and a load more that I hadn't even heard of......all done privately of course. Most people here just want care and treatment at maintaining the teeth they have.

Reading through about this Winchester Dentist I now think they have a waiting list....just going to call them.
      :fingers crossed:

Ok..they have just opened up a waiting list for new patients ( it actually said this on the NHS website too) 2 days ago so we have completed their online request form.. Thankfully we are not in any urgent need as we had a full check in a few months ago....so now we wait!

We are still going to do the dummy run journey today to make sure it is as easy as it looks.:dbgrtmb:

Just got back home , no problem it was a very doable trip. We did the round trip in just over 2 hours and that included a stopover in Winchester for 20mins.:):blue thumb:

Just have to wait and see now.

            Good day
It us yo to 28f -2c and the sun has finally pushed the clouds aside.

I put down lots of ice melter on the sidewalk and up the driveway after going to put the rubbish and recycle at the kerb and discovering it was all icy and quite dangerous. Yesterday's snow is looking pretty in the sunshine.

I like the sound of your new dental service and hope they live up to their reputation @Upsydaisy .

It is a school day off for Em so we're going to get some new photo I.D. for her. I'm crossing my fingers that being still a week day, It will not be too busy.

            Cheers :)

Friday. Crunchy cold outside . snow still there. Noon some melting occurs.
its 9:33AMM busy already with answering folks regarding the car parts for sale. No real "bites yet"
Got to get out to store for more suet for the birds etc. Probably get to the fish sale. And then to my favorite cheese place, like I need those calories.

Speaking of Dentist, I had been not trilled with a few, but then a friend of mine had worked for one, tried him, really ok with him for now. But, the funny part----in general when I go to them, they usually say "Oh, I see you floss often". Trust me if I floss 5 times a YEAR that is something. LOL. I have been blessed with decent teeth, just the usual cavity once in a blue moon. And did have to get a crown due to stress pressure, was driving a tough drive to and from a job, lots of traffic, clenching my teeth too often--that was the cause.

Anyway, on to my day. Have a good one folks.

We're in for a grey day with on and off drizzle . This will mean that a ' go with the flow' day is on the cards for today. I might even get to finish the little cowl that I'm knitting to match the latest pair of fingerless hand warmers that I made last month.:fingers crossed:

I must also water all the seedlings today too, I tend to stand all the trays in water for 15 minutes so that they receive their water from below rather that from above.

That's will be as exciting as it gets , rock and rolling the day away! :roflol:

I hope you all have a better day planned.

                Enjoy.

Here's a handful of little Vans to start your day.

Aw Upsy, I'll share my sun with you today ... even if it is just mentally.

We are in for a fine weekend and I plan to get out and sow mt Pepperdew seeds. I sowed my Bulgarian Red Peppers the other day. I read red peppers have more Vit C than citrus and I love them raw or stir fried. I also saw a great recipe for a spread for bread or dips.

I also have a plug plant of a Jacobinea carnea which arrived yesterday from Spain to plant

This afternoon I will do a bit of crochet, tidying of computer and I have to catch up on correspondence.

                    Hi Vicky.:gmorning:

Thanks for the virtual sunshine , gosh how my poor lower joints needed it!!

I know I've said that this Winter had been a good one in regards to temperatures, I haven't really felt cold at all (so far!:fingers crossed:) but the dampness has caused incredible pain in my legs and worryingly has made my left hip almost impossible to bear any weight on. It must just be down to the weather/ dampness as my scans didn't show any significant arthritic deterioration and thankfully no Osteoporosis in either of them, just my spine. It's so difficult to get appointments with your Dr still and waiting lists ,especially for any Orthopaedic issues at the hospitals are 2yrs+
So..nowt can be done and to be honest with the state of our medical service I don't want to be put into their system right now. Nothing is being done in an orderly manner, yes you might get to have scans / xrays but by the time you see a Consultant they then say they need a more up to date one and so back you go onto another waiting list. No I will wait it out in the hope that the warmer months calm all my joints down.
On bad days when I've caught a glimpse of myself in shop windows etc. I almost freeze with horror at how I'm looking...what has happened to me!!:yikes::cry3:. I do keep going and love our days out together, but at the same time dread is creeping it's way in. 'They' say to keep on the move , drilling into you that 'if you ease you cease' and ' if you don't use it you lose it' .....but is so dam painful!! Am I doing more harm than good by keeping on the move..:noidea:

Sorry a bit of a ' I'm feeling sorry for myself' waffle....my gist was ..thanks for the Sun, all offers are very gratefully welcomed and accepted.

Enjoy you gardening and crochet ,my day will be very similar to yours..well with me knitting that is. xx

In my dream my perfect day would be to be with you , sitting out..or in not fussy, having a catch up together you crocheting and me knitting. How lovely would that be.

                            Good day
It is 19f -6.5 and it looks like the clouds have parted a little here and there and will let some sun through. I hope you ladies enjoy your sunshine, real or virtual!

I'm not one to look in the mirror unless I'm putting rollers in my hair or brushing my hair. And when I do get a glimpse, this old gal shows up on the other side and sometimes smiles to show the full effect of wrinkles... blech! And I've found that grey hair really loves to frizz and give that special touch of "old hag" to add to my consternation

I've got masses of laundry to do this morning and I shall do that in my Hilda get up. I read a book into the wee hours and slept a little later than usual so am behind on getting things done but the basket of laundry won't grow legs and run away from me so I will do it at my pace.

                            Cheers :coffee:
