    Afternoon all.

Keep driving as long as you can @PatE . With a set of car keys in your pocket, you are your own mobile and independent woman.

Excellent work with those bean-poles @Dovefromabove . Best wishes to your Mother In Law for her forthcoming surgery.

My best wishes for your health @lizzie27

Glad you enjoyed your time with your friend @Ladybird4.

Happy to hear you all enjoyed your trip to Bressingham Gardens @Busy-Lizzie Very beautiful photos, thank-you for sharing them.

@Ergates my house insurance is with a local insurance broker. They have all my details, and every so often at renewal time they tell me that they have found a cheaper policy. It might well be cheaper still if I went direct, but I'm prepared to pay a little extra to save me the legwork of getting quotes from all and sundry every year. But then I'm an idle so-and-so...

I hope everyone is able to get out into the garden and enjoy what seems to be a very pleasant day today.

Hello all, having a lovely lazy day. Met my friend for coffee and cake at a local GC, having dropped off some rubbish at the tip on the way over. We had a long enjoyable natter over a large piece of walnut and coffee cake each (so we counted that as an early lunch!). I bought 5l of Patio Magic for the paving and a 6 pack tray of geraniums. Too hot outside to do anything now so thinking about a cuppa now. Will water and feed the roses later when it's cooler.
Hope your MIL recovers well from her op @Dovefromabove.
A lovely photo @Badly_Maintained. Hope your OH is coping well with her first day.

Good day all. 10:30 am here.
Made my veggie skillet bake for breakfast, it is chopped kale, shredded carrots, potato, cheese, 3 eggs, shallot, rice flour, salt and pepper, stir together, spill it all into a oiled caste iron skillet, bake about an hour. Really yummy, even cold.
Raining here. So inside stuff etc.

        Have a grand day all.

          Good Afternoon everyone :spinning:

Such a warm and sunny day here. I’ve just bought some horticultural grit, done a SM shop and visited Dad to do him a pedicure (so important to look after feet, especially if diabetic).
Now I can do some garden jobs and drink cuppas all afternoon.

I hope everyone is having a good day and some of this gorgeous weather visits you.

Made to @Ante1 land, sunny Croatia, see above. Unfortunately had a potentially serious health problem on the first night which has slowed me down. The NHS website advice was go straight to A&E. Luckily the town medical centre is right next door to the hotel and they were very efficient at sorting me out. Just walked in and was seen immediately two days in a row, can’t imagine that would have happened back home.
However my plans for scuba diving have to be abandoned not just because of this but also as I climbed on to the examination bed the doctor said you have a hernia. I will need to get that checked when I get home, I have had it without knowing it for at least a couple of years with no symptoms so that comment came as a bit of a shock!
So it looks like I will be having a healthier lifestyle holiday as I will have to mainly avoid alcohol. Still, there are far worse places to be in and we will enjoy this beautiful island.

@AuntyRach, for convenience I have been buying my horticultural grit and Alpine compost from that big South American river company. It's delivered to my garage which is the bonus. I am probably paying over the odds and may have to look in the nursery I go to. I mix grit with all my composts, hoping it will make them freer draining but I also use perlite and vermiculite.

Oh @steephill I should pay more attention! I thought for one minute it was @Topbird who had posted. D'oh, I'm a twonk! Thank goodnees for the edit button! I am really sorry to hear your news. Great that you got sorted though and I'm afraid you are right about the situation here. One of my friends has just been diagnosed with a hernia also and she is having to wait about a month before the next appointment. Gorgeous picture by the way! Thank you for sharing it with us. (Can you hear my jealous gritted teeth?) You look after yourself and have some r&r by the pool/sea.

Thank you @Ladybird4 There is plenty to do here which doesn’t involve rushing about so it will still be a good holiday. Hopefully my OH’s stress levels will subside quickly too.

although the lengths some folk will go to in order to spend a relaxing holiday on the beach rather than traipsing around sightseeing never ceases to astound me!

Sorry to hear that, @steephill. Luckily you are in a lovely place to have a relaxing recuperation, and you got seen quicker than you might have here! Shame about the hernia, hope you can get that sorted without too long a wait when you get home.
I’ve had to dig out the hay fever tablets for OH. He is affected by pollen from conifers, and I opened the bedroom curtains this morning just in time to see a huge cloud rising from the Scots pine as a breeze hit it.
Spent most of yesterday evening trawling through the two insurance quotes looking for differences. We’ve used the same broker for years, firstly for car insurance, and more recently for the house insurance. She has been very good at chasing deals for us, and keeping the costs well down. Not sure what happened this time, as not only was there a substantial jump, but I found a better price on line. I could really do without the hassle, so I’ll ring her on Monday and see if she can do better. I shall put it out of my head for the weekend!
Another lovely day here. I’m now worried that I made my list for next week’s holiday packing while we were still having to put the heating on at night! I’ll have to review what I’m taking, if it stays like this, I’ll need some more short sleeved stuff and fewer jumpers.

Morning everyone. There was rain overnight, so Hubby informed me. I didn’t hear it. . Today could be interesting since it looks as though it’ll be here again, but Hubby has done the washing. He has his favourite days, so weather doesn’t put his program off.

Hello everyone. Just read back over the last three plus days of your posts, what a busy lot you are. My best wishes and well done to all those folks working hard and successfully in their gardens, the weather has really made the outside work so pleasurable. Good luck to those of you, or your family members, awaiting operations and to those recovering from the same.

We are in for an exciting few days here on our small farm. We have one field Which we normally allow to rest and grow through the winter months then allowing the ponies back on to it in April Which lets them safely graze their way through the 'old' grass before finding the 'new' and rich grass coming through underneath. This year, without the cold and freezing weather of last winter to take the goodness out of the surface grass, we are left with a field full of 'green' long grass with the new growth rushing through underneath (am I making sense?). Well our neighbour has offered to come to the rescue ........... with his small herd of water buffalo! These are huge animals with huge horns, cows and their calves. They are all very friendly but apparently excellent at trashing everything from fencing to water tanks etc. Luckily they do respect electric fencing (mostly!), so he is coming over this weekend to electric fence inside our fencing to keep them contained, and bringing his own watering system which can be filled from our supply. As our land joins his in one place (back from the time when we owned all the land) he will then walk the buffalo across the fields and into the field prepared for them - we will shut our ponies well away in another field before the move. He will come round every day to feed them their special food, but it could be an interesting couple of weeks while they are with us!

Hope you all have a good weekend however you choose to spend it.
