Yawn Yawn Wakey Wakey 2024

Hello all.

Son and family have gone. It was fun having them. I think we crammed a lot into a few days and into our tummies, my jeans feel tighter!

We've been so lucky with the weather. It was another lovely day yesterday when we went to Sandringham. The house is beautiful. Inside is so pretty and rather feminine in decoration with lots of pretty ornaments. A lot were things with memories for the royal family and presents they were given.

The grounds are more like parkland than garden with lovely trees, shrubs, magnolias, rhododendrons and azaleas.

DIL had booked lunch in the restaurant. A lot had been grown on the estate, salad, even the meat. I had a delicious minted lamb burger with salad.

 

Afternoon all, had a rather sleepless night, too hot and humid then had to get up early for a 9 am appointment for a hearing test at the local hospital. Not a huge deterioration in hearing ability since my last test in 2017 but the audiologist has suggested new, smaller hearing aids.
She did mention though that the waiting time may be 9-12 months! I think I heard that correctly! Mind boggling, is there only one factory in the country?
We've had some drizzle over lunchtime but I don't feel in the mood for gardening, it's quite windy which always rather unsettles me for some strange reason.
Glad you enjoyed your day out at Sandringham @Busy-Lizzie, you will do doubt be glad of the peace and quiet for a day or two now that your family have gone back.
Sounds like you have everything sorted @Dovefromabove and MIL is recovering well.
I'm so envious you saw the Northern Lights @Lirodendrion, it was too cloudy here.
Hope you got the plants out of the house safely @Punkdoc!

Lovely photo of the ladybird @Badly_Maintained I found one on one of my yellow calendula but didn't have phone or camera on me to snap it!

Misty this morning. Miserable with spits of rain, so took the dog out early. Electric roller door on garage was fixed by the electrician this morning and the sun came out and made everything hot!! Just as well I took doggie out early! (Waited over a month for the motor to be delivered!!)

Off out to my weekly "Aide aux Devoirs" with the community centre in the village. Next Monday being Pentecost Monday, there is no class and the following Monday will be the last class for me until September!

I hope everyone is enjoying the Northern Lights. They can be seen from here at some points (when there is a clear sky) and the Southern Hemisphere is enjoying them too! Amazing!

We’ve just come back from the hospital… we rang them earlier as MIL’s drain bag was filling up rapidly and wouldn’t last until Thursday … they said bring her in and they’d change it. We had an appointment for 1:30 but arrived at 1 and she was seen right away. We were back here by 2. They’ve checked her over and are happy that all is as it should be. They’ll see her again Thursday to remove the drain.

 

Monday, chilly 58 degrees here, 10:40 Am.
Husband made blue berry pancakes for breakfast. was yummy.
Just some garden stuff today. And a few errands.
Have guests in our Airbnb until the 24th, and then the cleaners will have to move quickly as another group to arrive same day at 4 pm. So enough money to cover bills this month from guests.
Still plugging away at the travel plans for Nova Scotia, right now surfing about to see where I want to stay on Prince Edwards Island, seems there are several "types" of places to chose from, rustic cabins to snazzy high end Inns on the water. Fun.

Yes mine with a little stiff LB. Just having some tea after waking up early hours. A problem with courier yesterday not delivering one of the items. Telephoned and hung on me but received text advising delivery today. Hope that will be so.

@Rosie loves nature, I do hope that the stiffness in your arm wears off as quickly as mine did and that your courier delivery finally arrives. Its a pain waiting in for them!

 

I had been warned about the team we played last night in the Quiz league as I, being a recent member on the team have not met them before. One of my team had made very disparaging remarks about how they were found out to be cheats and were not well liked within the league, so I was a bit wary when we arrived at their venue. To be honest, I found them to be quite pleasant and I never spotted any of the sneakiness I had heard about. To cut a long story short, I enjoyed the evening - even though we were well beaten. I'm just a quizaholic! We have a cup match next week which should be interesting as we are playing against our club's first team - we being the second team.
