A very good morning one and all. Good news that you made your flight and arrived home last night @Busy-Lizzie. I can only empathise with you about the 'bog garden', as mine is like that every rainfall.
Today is catch up day with Bestie as she is back from her fortnight's holiday. I am also having my hair 'rescued' by her daughter (she is a mobile hairdresser for those who aren't aware) who was on holiday with her.
Stunning picture @PatE. It reminds me of my Australian trips. That sky is amazing and I love the eucalyptus (?) trees. Thank you for sharing it with us.

      Good morning all.

We have rain and storms forecast for the next 3 afternoons in SW France. The lawn is already squelchy, needs mowing badly, and there are puddles around the edges of the flower beds.

The garden has come on a lot since we last saw it, before we went to the UK just over 2 weeks ago. There are a lot of roses out now but they look a bit tatty because of the rain. I must go and tie up some of the foxgloves. A deer, I think, has been eating the leaves of 2 yellow roses. A post of the electric fence was lying on the ground. Only for 1 night as I can check the garden on a security camera.

          Good morning @Ladybird4 and @Busy-Lizzie
Squelchy garden!? Ugh!! Although ours hasn't been dry entirely - and it's raining again. But at least it's not boggy.
We don't have deer here, thankfully.

Have a lovely day, despite the weather. Definitely NOT ice cream weather today.

              Good morning all :coffee1:
All is fine here (except the weather which is damp) … another trip to the hospital today.
I can assure you there is no such weather as ‘not ice cream weather’ … :yikes:

                Morning folks.

It’s a lovely morning here. I won’t be foxed though as rain forecast later so I’ll do some garden pottering but no washing today.

                Have a decent day all.

                Great pics @PatE

                  Good morning.
It's a damp morning here too so I'm pottering about, achieving little. I do have plans in my head re some seedlings as I've walked around my borders so have been productive in a way.
I've prepped veg for tonight's butternut and sweet potato crumble and jotted down some items for shopping tomorrow before I forget them!
The weather has to be hot for me to fancy an ice cream, so I'm with you there, @RowlandsCastle.
                  Have a good day everyone.

                    Good morning everyone.

Beautiful sunny day here with no wind. Rain and lightning forecast for the end of the day. I have staked my tomatoes - all finished and wept over the damage these snails are doing. They have eaten another courgette plant and even some young hot pepper plants!! Can't believe it!!

Good on you @PatE getting into the car and driving around!!

I speak fluent french @Obelix-Vendée so I don't need the english, but my surgeon likes to hear me saying in english "I'm fed up with this f......g pain." He has a smirky smile!!

Today being the 16th is: A la Saint Honoré, S'il fait gelée, le vin diminue de moitié.

No frost here but the vineyards further north are being battered and ripped to pieces from strong winds and horizontal hail. Terrible. No wonder 90% of grape juice is sent from the Languedoc Roussillon region for blending to other parts of France.

Have a sensible sort of day!!

@Tui34 With me it's more a case of them liking to practise their English. I know one couple here whose GP is in La Rochelle, a 45 minute drive for them, but they need one who speaks English.

No frost here either. I like south western wines.

Thursday morning, 8:17AM. Rained on the overnight. it is 61degrees now.
Nothing major. Just puttering about here and there. Maybe later out for some errands. Oh the joy of no schedule, no meetings.
Have some leftover roasted turkey thighs, thinking of turkey soup later for dinner.
Did get the box of Yorkshire Tea delivery yesterday, hope to try some later today. I am a morning coffee person.
Have got to really focus on more walking.
                        Have a good day all.

We had heavy showers this morning then the sun came out this afternoon - the opposite of the forecast! I went outside and tied up my foxgloves that had fallen over because of the rain. I put them on the Looking good in May thread.

The I took photos of the roses, also a bit battered, though. I've put them on the rose thread which I find quite difficult to find, I have to do a Search. https://www.gardenerscorner.co.uk/threads/members-roses-2024.132726/page-9

Apart from that I've had a quiet day as I'm quite tired even though I slept well. After effects of the last 2 weeks!

Afternoon all, glad you got back safely @Busy-Lizzie, pity about your soggy garden though.

I managed to trim the front and part top of our long privet hedge - the easy bit since we had a path laid a year or so ago. The other side is more problematic as the ground is lower, sloping and uneven. The hedge is therefore too high that side for me to reach with the smaller electric hedge trimmer which means I have to persuade OH to get the long handled battery cutter out to have a go which isn't so easy these days as his hip is getting ever more painful. The hedge however is dying, I think it's honey fungus but I'm perplexed as to why it's dying here and there.
I'm actually hoping more will die off this year as I'd like to replace it with a fence to lessen annual maintenance now we're getting older. Birds don't nest in it and there are miles of hedging around here so it won't impact on wildlife too much.

Our forecasted afternoon rain seems to have been put back to early evening.

Note that if nobody has posted anything on a thread since you last viewed it you will have to further click on "View all watched threads".

Hope that helps - nice pics.
